εὐψυχέω [page 268] The force of this rare verb, as in Php_2:19 , comes out well in a letter from a wife to her husband, BGU IV. 1097 .15 (time of Claudius or Nero) ἐ ]γὼ γὰρ οὐ co ovligwrw/( avlla. euvyucο̣ῦσα πα [ρα ]μένω . It is found, instead of the usual χαίρειν , in the salutation of a letter of condolence, P Oxy I. 115 .1 (ii/A.D.) (= Selections , p. 96) Εἰρήνη Ταοννώφρει καὶ Φίλωνι εὐψυχεῖν . See also Hermas Vis. i. iii 2 σὺ μόνον μὴ ῥᾳθυμήσῃς , ἀλλὰ εὐψύχει καὶ ἰσχυροποίει σου τὸν οἶκον .
