The Danger of Greed & the True Treasure

The gospel for today is taken from the gospel according to st. Luke and it is chapter 12 verses 16 to 34 inclusive Luke 12 and verses 16 to 34 inclusive The Lord Jesus gave this parable. Well look 12 16 the Lord begins with a parable and he mentions this fool rich man, and I believe When we go to verse 16 Then he spoke a parable to them saying the ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully and He thought within himself saying what shall I do since I have no room to store my crops So he said I will do this I will pull down my barns and build greater and Build greater and there I will store all my crops and my goods and I will say to my soul Saul you have many goods laid up for many's Take your ease eat drink and be merry But God said to him fool This night your soul will be required of you then whose will be those things Those things be which you have provided Said all night Thinking what shall I do my land yielded many crops the barns are not big enough So I'm gonna tear them down and make them greater.

So that way I can gather every Produce every crop that the land gave me I don't want nothing to go to waste and then I'll say to myself Rejoice be glad and be happy. You've got plenty of produce Plenty of wealth for many many years Enjoy life to the fullest God Called this rich man a fool Why because he said tonight? Yours you your spirit will be taken away from you. You will die tonight all these plans What are they for a foolish rich man incredible Why did the Lord Jesus say this parable? Because couple of verses prior to verse 16 two brothers biological brothers came to the Lord Jesus Asking him to intercede and be a judge between the two brothers for the sake of a block of land The brothers were fighting over a block of land like so many people fight over material things What has changed nothing except technology people fought at the time of the Lord over a block of land and today 20 the 21st century people are also fighting over block of lands and materialism Nothing much has changed and the Lord said well who made me a judge Between the two of you What the Lord was saying You are brothers Have you ever gave it a deep thought? You're coming Fighting over a block of land and each one of you is saying this is mine And the other one says no it is mine Have you gave it a deep thought because if you had you wouldn't have argued in the first place let alone to come to me I Jesus Christ of Nazareth and then Asking me to be a judge between the two of you if you gave it that deep thought you would have come to this Realization and this reality the very block of land that you were fighting over is Nothing, but a graveyard for both of you The land we fight for is our grave The land will swallow us at the end Will we take anything with us no Those who who gone before us.

I'm sure there was many rich people on the face of this planet I'm sure there was a lot of wealthy people But did they take anything when they left absolutely nothing And that's why the Lord gave this parable to those two brothers and to all of us Saying there was this rich man his land Yielded many crops That night he said and he said My barns are not big enough. I Can't miss on this great opportunity. I can't let this crop go by to waste.

I'm gonna make the Barns much bigger and collect everything and instead of saying Thanking God for this plentiful Crops and thank you God for allowing me to have all this I want to share it with everyone who is hungry. I want to give to those who are starving I want to give to those who are less fortunate. No, he became selfish thinking only of himself Thinking only of himself and the Lord warns us very very profoundly Not to fall into this grievous mistake Any human being could ever make? uh on On the face of this earth and what is that grievous mistake? The Lord says no matter what you do and no matter where you get and no matter what you achieve in life Don't ever end up being a greedy person because greed Is only made possible when a human being love themselves more than anyone else And more so more than God When a human being reaches a level Of loving their own self more than other people and more so more than God they become totally and utterly blind Blindness engulfs that person they will never ever Realize what they're doing because the moment a person sees themselves and themselves only They will do anything and everything To be successful Even if it meant I fight with my brother and I step on my brother As long as I am seen in the picture and no one else greed is an absolute Blindness to the core and the holy bible and saint peter in his epistles Reference to this he says there is the greatest false god You could worship and that false god is the word me I am the greatest false god when I begin Worshipping myself And when do you worship? a person When you love that person more than God That person becomes God But unfortunately a false one See this rich man thought of himself only He was already rich The holy bible says he was already rich Before even his land giving him all these blessings.

He was rich instead of thinking of others Less fortunate. He thought no I want to increase And add more to my richness selfish greedy When we go down we don't there's too many verses here unless you want to sleep here tonight. I don't mind I'll go through them all one by one Anyway, what are you doing? It's raining.

It's stay here In the presence of the lord the ultimate the only place to be is in the presence of the lord you go out there The world is sick And definitely needs Desperately the true healer and the only true healer to this sick world is jesus christ of nazareth The day the world come back to christ there will be no more fighting no more arguing no more killing no more bloodshed No more, this is my land. No, this is your land. This is my country Listen, mate, your country is a piece of dirt.

It will swallow you You're fighting for what? You need to fight For a land that is everlasting You need to fight for a country that is everlasting You need to fight for the one that is the only one that is everlasting and that person That is everlasting is christ the king and his kingdom is everlasting Because the everlasting god dwells in it That's why that land is everlasting. It is not the land everlasting It is because of the one who dwells in it makes it everlasting Fight for christ Not for material so when your sister comes into your room And pinches your chanel Don't fight and say hey, I told you a million times. Go get your own No, don't be greedy. Don't be selfish say to your sister. See now it becomes much more clearer what the lord is saying Sadaqa in arabic derives from the word siddq Now siddq means anything and everything that is truthfulness That is true That is real but true is much more stronger So sadaqa the lord is saying in verse 33 Sell what you have and give What is truthful Wow, see now gives much more meaning to it So it's not about it's not about I go and buy Some meccas I'm promoting mecca Or kfc Or hungry jacks, they'll have to pay me now these guys, you know It's not about I go and buy that meal for somebody maybe is hungry sitting on the on the side of the road It's not about I went and bought It's about how did you? Sell everything and give and and gave it in truthfulness That's what it what the lord is saying Be rich in truthfulness.

Don't be rich in materialism Now sadaqa in arabic is truthful Now what is the opposite of truthfulness Lie Lie Is opposite to the truth This is true. This is a lie The lord is saying when you come to give give in the truth Don't eve don't give With a lie now, what is a lie to understand it a lie is a story based On no foundation Is a story with no foundation That is a lie, what is a story without a foundation a dream A dream is a story without a foundation Now i'm not talking about specific dreams because sometimes dreams can be from god But i'm talking in the general sense and i'll get to what i'm really trying to get to So a dream is a story with no foundation with no base to it What do I mean by that? Let's assume I slept and I now saw a dream and in the dream. I saw myself a king or donald trump The president of the united states of america In the dream While i'm seeing the dream i'm not saying to myself I'm in a dream.

This is not real. No to me. This is reality and there is nothing else but this I'm living Reality and I am a king.

I'm a president. I'm this i'm that and I believe this is it And there is nothing else And before I follow through with this Convincing moment a family member taps on the shoulder and says get up time to go to school The moment I wake up Everything I thought was real became a lie I don't have that life anymore. I thought I was a king.

I woke up. I'm a cleaner I thought I was rich and I woke up and I was poor I thought was beautiful and woke up was like bishop murray The moment I woke up from the dream I've realized one thing Whatever I believed in Was the truth Was nothing but a lie everything changed King david says to us Who is that dream He says the life Of a person a human being Is like a dream at the awakening The life of a person is like a dream at the awakening For as long as we are living on the face of this earth We think this is it and there is nothing else. I can go wherever I can do wherever I can be with whoever and nobody can stop me.

This is a free country I am free and no one can ever dare to say to me otherwise And as long as i'm in this flesh I'm saying i'm the king of this world and I do as I please not even god can stop me The moment i'm chasing this dream A tap on the shoulder comes from god takes the spirit out of the body Oh foolish rich man, your spirit will be asked of you tonight What are you going to do now? The moment the spirit leaves the body it is the moment of me waking up from the dream Every plan I had Every dream I had every moment That I wanted to chase and reach this horizon everything from head to toe inside and out Change in a blink of an eye the moment the spirit left the body all this reality became nothing but one big lie I held on on my money. I held on on my throne. I held on on my fame I held on on my power when the spirit left the body all of these were nothing but one big lie I came with nothing to this world and I will definitely leave it with absolutely nothing What a shame So the lord says do you want to leave rich? You've worked hard the lord saying you've worked hard on the face of this earth And you made for yourself Plenty of wealth Do you want to take it with you to the next? life He says there is One way you can You know When we wish to travel to a foreign country, let's say we live in australia And I want to travel to another country But that country does not accept australian dollar But I want to travel Here, the only currency is australian go aussies, baby That's the only only currency the aussie dollar In that country that I want to really go to they do not accept my aussie dollar But I want to go.

So what do I do? What stop going? No There is one way exchange Exchange That aussie dollar To that other country where I wish to go I change my dollar to their currency to enable me to go And stay there and live there and eat and drink and whatever exchange The lord says there is an exchange currency place in heaven called charity That's the exchange bank You want to take what you gained here on earth to heaven with you? exchange it in the bank of almsgiving charity That is the truth Whatever you give With love whatever you give In truthfulness meaning meaning money Money is all yours. Lord. Jesus.

It's not mine Wealth wealth is all yours. Lord. Jesus.

It is not mine throne It's not it's not mine. It's all yours. Lord.

Jesus Power it is all yours Everything is yours. Lord. Jesus and when you come with this insight with this Acknowledgement that everything belongs to the lord and when I give that ten dollar it is not mine It is the lord because this body is the lord These clothes are the lord.

The house is the lord. The car is the lord Everything to do with me and every possession of mine All of it belongs to the lord. Jesus Therefore when I come and say i'm giving this from the hand of the lord.

I took it And I gave it nothing is mine Everything is the lord When you do it for the glory of christ The lord will transfer whatever you exchanged There in heaven and he will grant you accordingly in heaven greed Deprives you From all the blessings that are awaiting you in heaven A true story we mentioned a while back. Let's refresh our memories there was There was this rich this This rich man who lived in greece His name was peter True story He was extremely rich But extremely greedy Extremely greedy The some homeless guys living in athens They said one day they said you know what Um, we we're gonna try and get something out of this greedy rich peter They tried frantically in any way form or shape possible without prevail He was so greedy. You couldn't take nothing out of him one day this homeless guy he came and he said I'm gonna make a bet i'll get something out of him.

Even if it's a A small piece of bread i'll get something out of him. They said listen give up we tried for ease No use with this guy. He is beyond greedy He said no i'm gonna do it.

So he went knocked on the door peter the greedy came out. What do you want? He said give me money. He said be gone.

He said give me this be gone. Give me that be gone Give me a piece of bread be gone. He kept on he did not leave Until the greedy peter became so annoyed He said just take this he gave him a piece of bread So dry He said just take it and get out of my sight He took it Jumping and leaping with joy goes to his friends the homeless.

He said I win I got A piece of bread a dry one. Yes, but at least I got it That night very night peter slept the angel Sent by the lord jesus came to his dream true story He said come with me I'm gonna take you somewhere. I want to show you where you are true story So the angel took him He said I came to a place Wow, he took me into a mansion and there was a huge and a very long table filled with food and Everything you could think of stunning And I said to myself.

Wow, is this all mine amazing? The angel said no. No, this is not yours So he said we went through that beautiful mansion out in a courtyard there and he took me to this little tiny room Not even a granny flat a studio smaller than a studio, right? He took me there He opened the door and it was just bare concrete no furniture. No carpet.

Nothing. Nothing just bare concrete He said this is your place So what? What do you mean? He said yes, he said I looked in that little tiny room I saw a little piece of dry bread in one of the corners He said what is this? He said the angel said to him I checked your record All I could see the only time you did something right in the sight of the lord is when you gave that Beggar that small piece of bread so that small piece of bread got you this little tiny studio with no furniture He said does that mean if I give more I can receive more here. He said of course, haven't you heard? Sell everything And do charitable deeds Look 12 33 Haven't you heard the lord saying that? He said angel, please take me back.

Give me one more chance. I want to fix this So the angel takes him back. He wakes up he goes And gives his entire wealth to the poor and the needy He gives the entire wealth to the poor and the needy one day on a very cold day winter day rainy like Like today started raining On a very cold winter rainy day.

He was walking. He had a a leather jacket He was walking and he saw poor one person sitting on at the gara freezing Nothing just he had a very tiny shirt on him soaked wet and freezing from the cold weather He looked at him. He took his jacket off and put it on that man.

He didn't have any money He gave all his wealth. So the only thing he had is that jacket he took it and put it on that poor Homeless guy he went home. He slept this time not an angel the lord himself came to him When he looked at the lord jesus he saw the lord wearing his leather jacket He said my lord.

I can't believe that you came all the way to me and I can't believe it. I can't Hang on What have you got on lord? That's my jacket Why how did he get this? He said peter haven't you? Don't you remember what I said? He who does Something good to the least of my disciples has done it on to me When you put that jacket on that homeless guy, you didn't put it on that homeless guy You put it on me because that homeless guy is me. I the lord jesus You clothed me.

I was naked and you clothed me. I was hungry and you fed me I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.

I was lost and you found me every Deed you do for the least of my brethren's you are doing it on to me. I the lord He said lord, are you serious? He said yes He said lord In the morning, I will give you not only the clothes. I will give you myself He got up in the morning and went And sold himself to this family And worked as a slave in that house He sold himself for the lord That family happened to be a husband and wife.

No children Elderly couple He served them faithfully and loyally for years A time came they realized they're going to move on They loved peter so much They took peter to themselves as their own son since they had no children They said you are our son and since they made peter their own son before departing from this world They put that house in peter's name So they passed away the house now is in peter's name What does peter do he goes and gives it to the church? That house became a small gorgeous little church And they named that little church the church of peter the greedy Greedy Miracles after miracles after miracles Happened in that little house, which became a church named Peter the greedy but definitely peter when he left this world He was definitely not greedy, but he was generous in christ Imagine if he had held on to that wealth He would have left Bare barren naked But he left with all the wealth he accumulated here Transferred it there By giving it in the truth the reason why humanity in general not all but some people some people have become so greedy because They got used to loving themselves beyond anyone and anything including god Became blind Thinking this is theirs forever not realizing death will take everything away from them everything When you give give from the best you have not the least you have do not be afraid If you have hundred dollar bill A fifty dollar bill a twenty dollar bill and a ten dollar bill and a five dollar bill after the five in australia's coins And somebody asks you and you give them the hundred dollar bill The best of what you have The lord will never forget that He will always reward you for it Trust the lord But there is one thing Don't go and try this On the hope that oh lord look I gave a hundred dollars. You need to do it from the heart You need to give without expecting anything in return.

You need to give with confidence. You need to give it because You say to the lord I came to this truth The money is yours. The wallet is yours Me and everything it is all yours.

I can't give all my wealth to the poor and follow you He said you just asked me how to enter eternal life. Did you realize eternal life is only found in god's kingdom? So when you said teacher good teacher tell me what to do to enter eternal life Are you saying I am the king? Because eternal life is in god's kingdom and the only one who is in the kingdom must be the king Because the king needs the kingdom to exist So you're saying i'm the king well since i'm the king I own you I own your wealth and since the money is mine Not yours. I am free to do whatever whatever I wish with my money.

So now I Jesus christ the king the owner i'm saying give my money to the poor. Why are you getting upset offended? Because you're still holding on to your own self This is why you are unable to let go of material things that were never yours never will be The more you give the more you receive the More you give the more you receive It's not yours Belongs to christ the king this world and the next But so amazing the lord He is the creator of this world and the next when he came to this world He said the birds of the sky have a nest to dwell in and the foxes have homes to to to go And stay in but the son of man has no place on this entire planet to play to put his head Lay his head on it. None of it is mine yet I'm the creator of this world when I came to it I said this is not for me because your home is not here your home is your heavenly Father's house that awaits you forever.

That's the place where you need to put your treasure in not here It's not yours my beloved beloved sons and daughters The only truth in existence is the name of jesus christ of nazareth Outside of this perfect holy name Everything is a lie Because he's the only truth and he said it In john 14 6. I am the way the truth Huh and the life I am the way the truth and the life. I am the only way that leads you to the truth And the truth is the only way that leads you to life That's what he's trying to say in a nutshell. It's much deeper than that But in nutshell, I am the only way that gets you to the truth And the truth is the only way that gets you life and not any life eternal life I am the way to the truth and the truth is the way to eternal life So I am the one and only there is no one else but me The lord says sell everything and give in the truth charity Because at the end we're going to leave this world and we will leave with nothing We will leave with nothing the only thing that we will leave behind us on this on this earth is memories memories Some will cherish us with good memories and some may be far from all of you.

Not so good memories That's the only wealth we're going to leave behind is memories Oh, may god rest his soul in peace. He comes and he says I will show you a much greater way than speaking in tongues Then he comes to first corinthians 13 love The only language god will relate to the only language that will god's attention is the language of love Not gibberish Please We need to be adults mature And satan Cannot understand the language of love why because he has no love in him And when you don't have something you cannot give That's why when you speak the language of love And when you live this love and when you share this love you burn satan He He can't stand it when he sees people loving one another Because it burns him He can't have it He doesn't have it And what is heaven about l-o-v-e Four letter word l for lord Lord jesus came to give me l for life to give me l For liberty to give me l for light for he is the light of the world And he is the son of god who set me free made me He liberated me L for lord who gave me liberty who gave me light who gave me life and then he came to teach me this love A four letter word to teach me this love and he gave me the second letter which is all for obligation He said since you chose me to be your lord and savior for your lord is love Therefore I came to give you this love to teach you this love and now since I gave you This love and I taught you this love now you are obligated I'm sending you forth to the four corners of the world where it is loveless.

This world has no love in it There is only hatred because the prince of this world is satan the snake the poisonous snake So i'm sending you you are obligated to carry this love with you to a loveless world But When you go to this loveless world and you speak the language of love you will encounter a battle Because satan will go against you satan cannot stand love So he will Wedge a war against you You will engage in a battle. But unless you engage in a battle you can never say I am v for victory But when you engage in a battle Where the lord who is love with you? The end result is 100 percent victory You're triumphant Because when the lord is with you who can be against you? The result of the battle is predetermined before the battle is engaged in The result is victory and when you are victorious It is then and then only You get rewarded e for eternity Eternity is yours I am l for lord l for life liberty And I am l for love That I am the beginning and the end e for end The end will be with me in eternal life This is the treasure that will never fade away Not material It is love my beloved When you love god, you'll be generous when you love yourself. You'll be greedy and greed Is blindness spiritual blindness you will not find christ Be generous with your family Be generous To your family And generosity is in so many different ways Not only money, but be generous in the way you speak In the way you deal with them as a husband respect your wife as a husband respect your children as a husband Sacrifice for your family.

This is being generous Honor what god has given you As a husband lead your family to christ. That is generosity Don't be greedy and selfish and think of yourself only and you go and leave them behind the satan to come and devour them Now you're becoming greedy now. You're worshipping yourself not christ Be generous in every way Not just with material But more so mentally Emotionally physically spiritually in all levels be generous Be generous And that generosity will come when that love is directed to christ the king Not you not to anyone else amen Jesus christ lives forever Be strong Trust in the lord Entrust him with everything everything is his And since he purchased us with his precious blood then definitely everything is his Leave it in his capable hands And he will say to you like he said to the 12 apostles Simon peter andrew philip and all of them.

He said when you came and followed me Did you sleep one night in need of anything? They said no then he said sell everything and take my sword and the sword here is the word Not a literal sword that chops heads. No the sword of christ is Is the word Which is love? This is the sword you win with when you show love to a loveless world Because love never fails because god is love And who can win against god no one Love endures forever There is one hymn the choir sings. Don't rush Don't ever think by praying A lot of words now you've done. Thank god Thank god the more you think the more you will live happy The more you whinge and complain There is no peace there is no happiness You keep on pointing the finger You're not content because your husband is this and it's this and it's this do you think you're a perfect wife? No I'm sure there are good qualities in your husband Why don't you see them? Why you keep on looking at the negative look on the positive? Maybe when you focus on the positive those positive will help the husband to get rid of the negative But if you keep on putting the person down Even if they wanted to try to be a better person They'll give up because they'll say there is no use whatever I do She's never happy and whatever I do he's never happy so enough Pointing the fingers and bringing out the negative bring out the positive to give them that boost to go forth and be good Be good Let's bow our heads In the name of the father and of the son of the holy spirit one god, amen Our good god and full of mercy our good god and full of mercy Whose grace and mercy is poured upon all pour my lord the compassion of the delightfulness of your love upon your servants And again transform them in the hope of renewal to the life of repentance Renew in them your holy spirit by whom they are sealed for the day of salvation Purify them by your compassion from all flesh and spiritual blemishes And assure the hope of their faith by the aid of your grace and instill the walks of their behavior and the paths of righteousness Please them along with the saints in your kingdom by the assurance of the hope of their faith And the adoption as your children and in the joy of your absolving mysteries Empower them by the aid of your mercies to observe your commandments and fulfill your will to confess worship And praise your holy name the lord of all father and son and holy spirit forever Amen, may the lord jesus forgive us our sins and make us worthy to come forth And receive him in the true body and the true blood of christ.
