The River Runs Clean at the Source

Lord Jesus, we pray for each one attending this camp. We pray for those that have come seeking, seeking for salvation, seeking for peace of heart, seeking deliverance from some evil thing that has attached itself to them. We pray for those.

We ask you to liberate them and set them free. Glory. And do it now, Lord.

Set them free now. We command the power of God upon you now to be free. And all the people said, and all the people said, let it be in the name of Jesus Christ.

Let it be. We ask you, Lord, to bless those who have come from homes that need readjustment. We ask that the readjustment shall be made.

We ask that the power of God shall be in evidence and homes, Lord, let the spirit of God settle upon the homes and let there be peace in the homes. Let there be joy in the homes. We believe you, Lord, to bless these people, bless those who have come seeking and infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Don't let them get nervous, Lord. There is fullness for every one of us and we know it, but the hand of God must be upon us. He must guide our lives.

He must mold our lives. A premature experience would not be good for us. Lord, discipline us, we pray, teach us the eternal truths and prepare us for the best there is from heaven.

We believe you to do that. We expect you to do it. Fill every heart with the Holy Ghost that's seeking and all the people said, and all the people said, let it be, Lord, in this, in this camp meeting, let the power of God come upon those seeking and may their spirits be filled with the Holy Spirit.

We believe you for it. Those who have come seeking knowledge, may they learn, open up their facilities of knowing and understanding through the spirit to the mind, not from the mind to the spirit, but open up the proper channels of understanding so that they might come to understand and comprehend spiritual things. We believe you to open up channels of understanding and all the people said, and don't let the devil steal the word, but may the word of God cling to us and may we cling to the word and may he not be able to steal the eternal truths that's being presented.

We believe you, Lord, to do that. And all the people said, let it be. God bless you.

You may be seated, everybody. I'll pray the whole time if you don't. Now, I don't know whether I can settle down or not because I've been talking to those young people and they set you on fire.

We've been with one another for an hour and we almost missed you. We were just about ready to stay there another hour. And so I don't know where I can settle down or not here.

I'm so excited inside about being young. Isn't that wonderful? Hallelujah. Glory be to God.

I'm glad for Genesis chapters one and two and three. Had it not been for those chapters, we wouldn't know how you got here. And that'd be a shame, wouldn't it? Not to know where you came from.

But I'm glad we know that we are the creation of God, made in the image of God and one day we shall live with him forever and look just like his son, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says we shall look like him. We shall be like him.

Are you glad for that? God was so good to give us Genesis chapters one, two and three so there wouldn't be any doubts and we wouldn't need any professors of philosophy to tell us anything about it. It's right there. It's stated.

It'll remain the truth even in eternity. The word is established in heaven and always be a reference book up there to find out what went on down here. How many are glad that it's settled in heaven? It's settled in heaven.

A little boy went with his father to church on Sunday morning and the bishop spoke and he said, we must agree that evolution is a great truth. And he said, we did, as in from the lower species. And that afternoon, Sunday afternoon, the father took the son out to the zoo and they were looking around.

They came to the monkey cage and the boy looked up and looked at him a little bit and he says, you know, daddy, I think this one's going to be our next bishop because he looks like the bishop. I'm glad we don't have to believe nonsense, aren't you? I'm glad we can believe the word of God that's established forever. I'm glad that we have in the gospels chapters one, two and three of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Otherwise, we wouldn't know where Jesus came from. Wouldn't that be a shame? If we didn't know where Jesus came from, but God was good to us and he gave us those first chapters of the gospels that we might know for sure where our savior came from. There's no mystery about him.

We know where he came from. We have his genealogy right straight back all the way and we know where he came from and God was good to us to let us know where Jesus came from. And I'm just as glad that God gave us the Acts of the Apostles chapter one and two so we can know where the church came from.

Aren't you glad we know where the church came from? The church is no accident. It didn't come about by some fortuitous force. The church got here on purpose and we have recorded in the Acts of the Apostles just how the church was born and just how it got to be and how you and I can be the church.

I was down in Argentina and I met a young man that was a professor in the university there and like a lot of young liberals, he immediately began to say how much he hated the church. At that point it was a Catholic church and he was really letting it go. And I told him, I said, you know, I just came across from Chile and while I was up in the Andes, I decided to go and see the Cristo, the famous Christ of the Andes.

It's up in the snows. And so I spent some time up in the snows there in a lodge and I saw up there where the beautiful river that runs through your city was born, that La Plata River, way back up in the Andes mountains. It begins with a little trickle and then it comes into a small little stream.

And I said, it's so pretty and so lovely that you can just reach down and just put it in your mouth and drink it and all and it's so clean. But we were standing near the La Plata, I said, would you drink that stuff? He said, it's the filthiest mess in the world, I suppose. He said, no, I wouldn't drink it.

And I said, you want to know why you wouldn't drink it? He said, why? I said, man put something in there. He put his waste materials in there. He put his filth in there.

But I said, if you were to go back up to the source, you and I together could get down on our knees and stick our head in it and just bubble and drink and bubble and drink because we were back at the source of it. He knew I was coming to something, I could tell he was getting scared. And I said, if you'll go back to the source of Christianity and get away from the filth that's attached itself during all the centuries, if you'll go back to the source, you will find it clean and pure and holy and good.

And I said, I'm ready to take you to the source right now. I'm ready to take you to the source of Christianity, not to a denomination, not to a doctrine. I'm ready to take you now to the source.

And I said, in that source, there's holiness. In that source, there's purity. He had been talking about the impurities of the church.

And I said, in that source, there's purity. Are you ready to go to the source? And he said, I'd never heard it that way before. He says, I'm ready to go to the source.

I said, then I'll lay my hands on you and take you to the source. And so together, we went to the source, who is Jesus. And the spirit of the Lord, the spirit of the Lord came to him and saved his soul.

I'm ready this morning to take you to the source of the church. So open up your Bibles to Acts chapter 2, to the source of the church. You've come to this camp because you want to find the source of things.

You're tired of messing around in mud holes. And you've heard enough about ecology and especially the spiritual kind. And you want to clean up, and you want to clean out, and you want to get back to the purity of things.

Then if you do, you go to the Bible, you go to the Word. You don't go to an interpretation of the Word, you go to the Word itself. If you believe that, say amen.

We've got too much interpreting the Word. It says this, but it means that. It doesn't either.

It says what it means, and it means what it says, so let's keep it straight. And if you don't understand what it means, just keep holding on to it. You'll learn what it means.

God will show you what it means. In Acts chapter 2, we have the story of the birth of the Christian church. Let's look at it word by word.

It says when the day of Pentecost was fully come, I believe that spiritual things come in God's divine order. The coming of the day of Pentecost, the coming of the birth of the church was not an accident. It was not a miscarriage.

It came on schedule. It came on God's schedule. It came when the Romans had the roads made.

It came when the seaways were opened from pirates. It came on God's divine schedule. It came when men's minds were ready for it.

It came when philosophy had done its best and it failed. It came at a time when man needed it worse. It came on God's schedule, and you are here under the same schedule.

You are here right on time. How many glad you're on time? Hallelujah. Glory be to God.

I believe in God's schedule. I believe God brought me here. I believe God brought you here.

I believe the Holy Ghost is here on schedule. All we've got to do is open up. How many knows what open up means? Glory be to God.

Hallelujah. Open up means open up. It means pull back the drapes of the mind.

Pull back the curtains of experience. Poor old Peter caught fish all of his life, and then a man who never fished in his life taught him how to catch fish. You see, you've got to sometimes abandon experience.

You've got to abandon knowledge that you've picked up. You've got to abandon things in order to get into God, and if you're not willing to do that, you'll never make it in. Can you say amen? The Word of God begins by telling us that the day of Pentecost was fully come.

It was there. It had arrived. It had arrived.

They say the most potent thing in the world is an idea whose time has arrived, and surely the most powerful thing that ever happened, other than the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, was the birth of the church. Its hour had arrived. Its destiny had come.

It was time for the church to march. Jesus had already said, The gates of hell shall not prevail against my church. I like that, don't you? I like that.

Even the gates of hell, gates are the strongest thing around the world. They are the most fortified area, and even the most strongly fortified thing the devil has, cannot stand against the glorious church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Russia is just finding that out with these prayer meetings that meet in houses and in the woods and by lakes and different places.

After 50 years of storm trooping, the church is still there, growing, increasing, strong, living, vital, simply because you cannot destroy the church of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. Don't you love Jesus this morning? I do too.

The day of Pentecost was fully come. Aren't you glad your day of Pentecost finally came around? Some of you walked in a desert a long time, didn't you? Before you finally made it around. The day of Pentecost was fully come.

It says, they were all with one accord. All of who? All of who with one accord? Who were they? All of who were with one accord? Well, Paul says that 500 saw Him at one time, so there were a lot of people that knew about this. Where was this other 380 at? There were only 120 here.

Oh, I know where they were. She was washing the dishes at home and cleaning out the cobwebs. She couldn't go to prayer meeting that day.

Oh, I know where he was. He had to paint the barn that day. He couldn't make it out, and he wasn't there the day the church was born.

Oh, yes, he had a house to build. He had a yoke of oxen to try. He didn't make it out that day.

A lot of folks had intended to come, and they're not here this morning, and they're not going to hear what you're going to hear in the next hour. You see? Brother, to be in God's place at God's time is a wonderful facility. It takes determination to do it.

It takes knowing your own mind to do it. Some of you pressured yourself to get here, but bless God, you're here. They were all there.

Who were there? The Virgin Mary was there. The Bible says she was there. She wasn't too good to get it, and neither are you.

Caught you when you weren't looking, you see. That's right. She wasn't too good to humble herself and receive it.

The apostle Peter needed it too. Aren't you pastors? He needed it too. So do you.

Yes, the 11 foundation stones were there. The blessed hierarchy were there. But there were over 100 nobodies there.

They didn't even write their names down. Looks like they would have taken a little time to write their names down, don't it? But the nondescripts were there. They didn't get their names emblazoned in beautiful colors anywhere.

We don't have any record of them. We'll have to look for them when we get to heaven. I'm looking for those that were there on the day of Pentecost that got all this thing started.

I'd like to shake your hand. You say, then who was there? The ones that God spoke to and the Holy Ghost spoke to, they were all there. Every one of them were there.

Every one of them were there! And you know what I can believe? Everyone that's supposed to be here is here right now. How many heard what I said? Everyone that's supposed to be here, you're here! The Holy Spirit has you here. Bless God, I'm glad you're here.

Hallelujah. It says they were all there with one accord. That's a miracle, isn't it? Yeah.

James and John had forgot that business about a throne. They wanted to sneak and get a throne. And they'd forgotten about their kingship for a while.

Wasn't that sweet? The big shots had decided not to sit on a throne now. Thomas was there. He wasn't worrying about holes in the hand and holes in the side anymore.

He decided that the real Jesus was really alive and he'd gone in with them. He wasn't there spitting out his unbelief. He wasn't there saying it can't be done.

Aren't you glad for that? But he was there. He was in accord, mind you. He was in accord.

The Bible says they were with one accord. If you want the blessedness of the Holy Ghost to come, you get one accordness and it'll come every time. That's all it takes.

Just unity of purpose and unity of spirit and the Holy Ghost just starts moving in just like a wave coming in from the sea. You can't stop it. It'll move in.

When you've got unity of spirit and you all know what you came for and you all know what you want, then you can get it every time you get it. There's no missing it. When the Holy Spirit finds unity and oneness, the Holy Spirit moves in.

Let's raise our hands and praise God. We thank you, Lord, for unity this morning. We thank you that we've all come for the same thing.

We thank you we're going to get the same thing. We're going to get the moving of the Holy Spirit for this hour. And we thank you for it.

We thank you for it. It says they were with one accord. Then it says they were in one place.

You know, the devil would like to divide us all up and have two in each house. Did you ever hear about the banana that left the bunch? He got skinned. That's what's wrong with some of you.

Excuse me. Dr. Prince said yesterday he had submitted himself to fellowship. That's a tremendous decision.

It is a noble decision. It's a great decision. The easiest thing in the world is to be a liberal.

The easiest thing in the world is to be a loner. The easiest thing in the world is to stand out there by yourself and fight your battle. But the blessed thing is to stand with God's people, to stand with those of like-minded faith, to stand with those with like-minded purposes.

And one can chase 1,000 and two can put 10,000 to flight. You're bettering yourself and bettering everybody else when you're standing with others of like precious faith. Can you say amen? And so they were in one place.

They didn't have 40 prayer meetings going that morning in Jerusalem, girls. They were in one place. The Bible says so.

I didn't say that. They were in one place. They got this thing together.

And when they got it together, that's where the action was. And when they got it together, that's where the power was. That's where the anointing was.

They were all in one place. And then as we read about the birth of the church, it says, and suddenly, and as I look at that word suddenly, everything that God's ever done for me was done just like that. It just suddenly happened.

Every great experience I've ever had from God was an unpremeditated thing. It just came. I might have been praying for something, but then it came when I wasn't expecting it.

I'll get all out of my focus here, but I'll give you something I should give you 30 minutes from now. Now, I had tuberculosis when I was 17, and I was dying in Panama City, Florida. And the doctor gave me two hours to live.

And I gave my heart to God on the condition that I'd preach. He said He'd heal me if I'd preach, otherwise I'd have to die. And so I, as you can see, I decided to preach.

And I got so hasty about this, I went out preaching without the Holy Spirit. And we've got some beautiful people in the church that love to criticize you. And so I was an instrument of criticism because I was a full Gospel person without the full Gospel, if you know what I mean.

And so I would preach and kneel down in the altar with the others and say, Lord, give me the Holy Ghost. And they'd get it on both sides, and I was a preacher without it. And so many times I'd get up and preach and get the people saved, and I'd kneel in the altar and the rest would come around and lay hands on me to get the Holy Spirit, and I couldn't get it.

And that's a miserable thing, you want to tell me. That means you're first and the last at the same time. You're trying to lead and you're following.

And I got belligerent with the Lord. I said, You've got to fill me. That's the reason I feel sorry for some of you.

You've got to. But He don't got to do anything. Excuse my English.

That's right. And this went on for several months, and I was catching it. That fellow, Sumrall, out preaching, and he doesn't have the Holy Spirit.

He's just, you know, I was having a rough time. And I won't go into all of it, but one Sunday night I preached in a place in Arkansas. That's a good place to get your education.

And ten people got saved that night, and seven received the Holy Spirit. And I was right in the middle of them, but I didn't get anything. I was the preacher.

I was the evangelist. I went home so upset. I went home so upset.

I didn't even say my prayers that night. I said, Lord, you can say them yourself. I was just so upset.

I didn't know what to do. And I just crawled in bed. And I was mumbling and grumbling.

I said, There's seven people got the baptism and spoke in a heavenly language. And I've been preaching for months, and I don't have anything. And it looks like I'm never going to get anything.

And you call me to preach, and you're not treating me right. Well, I'm just like you, you know. And Sunday the Lord spoke to me.

And He said, You've been trying to baptize yourself, and it's a gift. He said, You've worked so hard at it. Now that you see that you never will get it, I'll baptize you now.

And there I was with a grumbling spirit and the Lord talking to me. And the light in my room, the corner, there was no light in the room. The corner of my room lit up.

It lit up with God's presence and moved over to my bed and touched me at my feet. And when it touched my feet, my mouth flew open. And from down inside of me, words began to flow.

Easy words. I didn't have to push them or promote them. In any way, words began to flow.

And I spoke, and I spoke, and I spoke. With no effort at all. That's the reason I tell you, Don't worry.

It'll come. It flowed, and it flowed, and it flowed. In the home where I was staying the next morning, I said, I'd like to tell you, friend, something.

They said, You don't have to tell us. We and the neighbors know all about it. Well, I thought I'd been real quiet, you see.

I mean, I thought I was real quiet. I presumed that I was quiet, but evidently I had announced the arrival of the Holy Spirit, of the baptism in my life. And what a glory, what a glory it was.

And suddenly, well, that's the way it was. It was sudden. It just moved in.

A thing that comes suddenly is a thing that's unannounced, you see. And suddenly, and that's the way you can receive, too. You can receive just that quickly.

It just moves in on you, and you'll rejoice. You'll rejoice. All the things that God has ever done for me just came like that from God.

In a moment when my mind was not expecting them, they came. It says, And suddenly there came a voice from heaven. That was a mercy, you know.

They'd had so many voices of those disciples around there until it was a mercy to hear from somebody else. And they'd heard so many voices of the earth until it was good to hear a heavenly voice. No doubt you've been hearing voices of confusion, saying this is right, and the other's right, and this is wrong, and the other's wrong, and the world's coming to an end this way and that way, and everybody's going to the dogs.

And all you've heard is voices of confusion and voices of discouragement. But you need to hear one thing. You need to hear a voice from heaven.

And a voice from heaven will be a voice of victory. That in the last days I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. I'm not looking at this sin-sick world.

I'm looking at the glory in these young people's faces. We had an hour together down there this morning. And I'm looking at the blessing of God flowing like a river through these many hearts around here.

Why look at a poor old world sick on sin when God's got a victorious church that's well and healthy and marching to victory? Can you say amen? Keep your eye on the right thing. These are the last days, but there are two things in the last days. Sure, Jesus said it'll be like it was in Sodom.

But He also said in the last days I'll pour out my Spirit too. And I'm on the Spirit side. I'm on the clean side, the good side.

I'm not over there in that muck and mess. I'm glad I can walk with Him and walk with His people. Can you say amen? Suddenly there came a sound from heaven.

Heaven at last had something to say. And maybe it's time for you to hear from something beside your denomination. Maybe it's time for you to hear from something beside your preacher that don't happen to know what he's talking about.

Maybe it's time for you to hear something from somebody beside your neighbors that would discourage you. When God speaks, it's clear. When God speaks, it's understandable.

When God speaks, it's sweet. I want to hear the voice of God, don't you? I want to be a God-directed man. I want you to be a God-directed person.

I don't want you to be directed by any other source in the world of information except the God part. It says suddenly there came a sound from heaven. And the sound from heaven sounded like a rushing mighty wind.

They didn't know what else to liken it like except a cyclone. How many folks know what a cyclone sounds like? You know what creates a wind, don't you? It's a vacuum that creates it. It's an emptiness in space.

And as the air moves into the emptiness, the velocity gets stronger, and it becomes a wind. Well, these fellows on the Day of Pentecost were so empty until the wind moved in, the air moved in, and it became a cyclone around there. It sounded like a rushing mighty.

Say, that's putting adjectives to work, isn't it? It sounded like a rushing mighty wind when it moved in on them. Isn't that the kind of blessing you want? Man, I'm not made for little blessings. Are you? I'm not a pink tea party fellow, you know.

It takes something to bowl me over. I want rushing mighty winds. I want a mighty baptism.

I want a fanatical experience. Glory be to God. I don't want to taste this thing.

I want to get drunk on it. On the Day of Pentecost, the Bible says they were all drunk on the thing. Too many of us get too little of it.

We get a taste of it, and that might upset your tummy. You better be careful with it. It takes a good sousing of it to really make you healthy.

It came in like a rushing mighty wind. Oh, don't you want that kind of an experience? Don't you want your inside just clinged out with a rushing mighty wind? Don't you want it to blow the debris out and to blow the nonsense out and to blow your ideas out and blow the whole thing out and fill us with God? Hallelujah. Can you say amen? Amen.

Fill us with God. Oh, brother, this world has got so much stuff to fill you with. It's wonderful to be filled with God, isn't it? It says a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house.

Careful now. It filled a house. Did you know that the church was not born in the cathedral? The church was born in a house.

You say, why in the world would the church be born in a house? On purpose. There was nothing accidental that day. You say, why a house? Because that's where you live, and that's where this thing belongs, where you live.

Christianity is tailor-made for the home, and any time it won't work in your home, it won't work anywhere. When this blessing becomes a foreigner to your home, it's no good in church either. If it won't make you a better home person, it won't make you a better church person.

It was born in the home. You say, why, Brother Sumrall? God was determined to have no more holy places. God was determined to have no more holy places.

There are no holy places. You are the temple of the living God. That's the only holy place God has on the face of this earth.

If you are glad for it, say, Amen. All these people climbing on their knees down their Skalosantas, trying to find forgiveness of sins, there is no such place on the face of this earth. You are the temple of God, and you are the only holy place God has.

The church was born in a dwelling house, and God wants to keep it in a dwelling house, and you are the dwelling house of God. I was preaching in Zion, Illinois one time, and a dear lady came up to me, and she said, Brother Sumrall, pray for our church. I said, yeah, what for? She says, we're going carnal and worldly.

I said, oh? She said, yes. I said, see our lovely seats here? They're going to take them out, and they're going to put old worldly pews in our church. They were opera seats like this.

And said, how are we ever going to get the blessing of God sitting in those worldly pews? And I said, honey, do you know where these old seats came from? No. Well, I says, I can tell you. They bought them out of an old theater after they were worn out by a bunch of sinful people that sat there and made illicit love and went to hell.

And they brought them in here and used them. She says, and you mean I got the baptism by that one down there? And I said, yeah, you got the baptism by that one down there. And I said, they're going to bring in some nice planks from North Carolina, all clean and polished.

No sinner's ever sat on it yet. Nothing's ever been done wrong on it. You're going to sit on it, and the same Holy Ghost is going to bless you there, bless you in that old worn out cushion there.

Thank you, brothers and brothers. When you start associating your blessing with material things, you've missed God. When you start associating the power of God with a holy place, you're wrong.

You've got to associate the power of God with God himself in your own spirit. And that's the only place you can associate it. It's as it filled the house, dwelling house, an ordinary place, a homey place, a place where there was mothers and fathers and boys and girls.

That's the place the church was born. That's the place it has to be reborn. It'll stop your broken homes.

Say something. Thank you. Yes, sir.

The power of God will stop our broken homes. It'll mend hearts together. It'll blend hearts together.

It'll knock off the rough edges. And smoothly we can live a wonderful life together. It says in the house where they were, what did you say? Sitting.

That's what the Bible says, where they were sitting. You mean they were sitting and got blessed? How could you ever sit and get blessed? I was preaching in Kansas, and just before my message I said, let us stand and pray. And when I did, a brother on the front seat looked at me real mean and turned around and knelt down.

Well, I got the signal all right that that wasn't the way to pray, stand up. But I went ahead and prayed anyway. And when I got through I asked the people to be seated and the brother that was kneeling, he could be seated too.

And then from the pulpit I said, now brother, I have a word from the Lord for you. He looked up. I said, obedience is better than sacrifice.

You should have obeyed me. But he was one that believed in holy postures. Are you here too? Holy postures.

He thought the way to get it was this way or that way. There are no holy postures. There are no holy postures.

You know the best way to worship God? Anybody know the best way to worship God? Lying down. That's the best way in the world. That's a comfortable way to worship God.

And the next best way is sitting down like you are now. We can't provide enough beds for you this morning so we just provide seats. The next best way is just sitting down.

But when you've got to go into a state of rigidity and you've got to get your body in focus some way or another, you've just missed the Holy Spirit. There are no religious things to carry through in order to meet God. They were just sitting there, just sitting there comfortable.

And that's the day the church was born. So there are no holy thrines and there are no holy positions. An open heart before God is the holy position.

A heart that's open before God and you will receive what God has for you. If you know it say, Amen. It says, where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire. And it set upon each of them, each of them. Now you know what some people would like for that to say? They'd like to say, and it set upon all the men.

They would like for it to say that. And it set upon all the men. Some would like for it to say, and it set upon all the youth.

But it doesn't say that. It says it set upon all of them. If we were all old, we no doubt would be narrow.

And if we were all young, we'd be too wide. But when you get into the middle of God, you've got both. You've got the depth that you need for conservatism.

And you've got the breadth that you need for liberalism. When you get into God, you've got both. And you need the young and the old.

Joel said that the young man, he would see visions. The old men would dream dreams. How many would like to know at what age you get old? Would you raise your hand? I can tell you exactly.

The day you start dreaming you're old. You say, what do you mean? The day you start saying, you know 10 years ago, you're old. That's the day you are old, that day.

The day you start dreaming about the past, all those good old days. You're old then. You're ready to be buried after that.

When you start saying, the good old days, these days are not like the good old, then you're old. But you don't hear a young man talking about good old days. He hasn't had any good old days yet.

The young man is visionary. He's looking high, looking way off over there. He's visionary.

He's looking. He's looking at the future to see what it has for him. But in the Lord we have both.

We have our elders that can tell us of the past. And they can join hands with the future, with our visions. And when the past joins hands with the future and the present, you've got Pentecost right there.

Say something please. And that's what God wants us to have. He wants us to have the experience of the past.

He wants us to have the vision of the future and lock them together in God and march together in Him. Can you say amen? And so God wants us to have one another. We're all necessary in the great body of Christ.

Do you believe that? And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost. I'm glad that all of them got it. Aren't you glad that all of them got it? Nobody was left out.

They were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Turn over a page there would you to verse 37. I won't go through Peter's sermon.

Now when they heard this, now who were they? These people were pilgrims. These people had come to Jerusalem to worship God. These were not sinner people.

These were all holy people. They had come to Jerusalem to worship. This was a feast day.

When they heard this they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter to the rest of the brethren, What shall we do? You know they wanted to get a hold of this thing. They wanted to get a bite of this thing. And Peter said unto them three things, Repent, that will make a church man mad won't it? It sure will.

But you have to do it. You have to do it. Repent.

And then he said be baptized. Be baptized. Be baptized.

Have you heard what I said? Yeah. It comes after repentance. That's what I'm getting to you.

Be baptized after you repent. And then you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. And then verse 39 clenches it.

This promise is unto you. It's unto your children. And it's to all that are far off.

We are the far off ones. Far off and far out. Unto all that are far off even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The call of the Lord of course as you know is the call of repentance, the call to salvation. As long as God is calling people to salvation He is also filling them with the power and the breath of the Holy Spirit. Then let us read a couple of verses before we close in James chapter 5, verse 7 and 8. It says, Be patient, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.

That's how long your patience is to last now. Be patient unto the coming of the Lord. James is right by Hebrews, right before Peter.

Be patient, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. The husband man waiteth for the precious fruit. You're that precious fruit.

You are that precious fruit. Waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth and hath long patience for it until he receive that early rain and then that latter rain. We are that latter rain.

We are that latter rain. So be patient. Establish your hearts, brethren.

Get strong in God. Get strong in the Spirit. Don't let people push you around.

Don't waver. Don't waver. Establish your hearts.

For the coming of the Lord draweth nigh at the time of the latter rain. The coming of the Lord draweth nigh. You are part of the latter rain.

It has to do with the coming of our Lord that's drawing nigh. Blessed be His wonderful name. Let us all stand, please.

Lord Jesus, You said You would send the Comforter and You sent Him. He has abode with the Church for these 2,000 years. We thank You for it.

We've now come to the latter rain when we should receive a full measure equal to the early rain. We will not be left out. We will not be shortchanged.

We will not have a watered down thing. We will have the same thing they had in Jerusalem. We will have the same thing they had in the Acts of the Apostles.

We will have a full measure. Glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory, glory be to the name of the Son of God. Lord, we pray that the heavens should be opened and as it was on the day of Pentecost, so shall it be again.

Let there come the sound of a rushing mighty wind and fill all the house, the house of our spirit and soul, and fill us all, and fill us all. And all the people said, amen.
