Sermon Transcription
Thank you Jesus. God is waiting for us to step into his will. Not God stepping into our will, but we stepping into God's will for our lives. And then we're going to see the supernatural and the spectacular take place. Before I share from the word of God tonight, I would just like to share on what has been taking place in the nation of Malawi. I've shared how 10 years ago, 11 years ago, the nation that is supposed to be 78% Christian elected a Muslim president. And systematically over the 11, 10 year period that he was in office, two terms in office, he Islamized the country. This shows how sometimes we Christians can just sit back and let things happen without standing in the gap. Well, a couple years ago, he introduced into the Malawian parliament a bill to change the constitution of the nation and effect a third term in office for himself for one purpose and one purpose only to introduce Sharia law into Malawi and totally complete the Islamization of the country. That's serious, serious. If you look at the map of Africa and the strategic position of the nation of Malawi, you will understand how serious it was. He invited Colonel Gaddafi and I've shared here how Colonel Gaddafi had stood up in Tripoli and declared that there was only one thing in this world that he feared, that is if the sleeping giant should wake up. And when he was asked, what is the sleeping giant? He said, it's the church of Jesus Christ. I do not fear it because it's asleep. But if that day should come when that church should wake up, we Islam are in trouble. Well, I got news for Colonel Gaddafi, he is in trouble. Come on, you can get a little excited. The Malawian president invited Colonel Gaddafi to come to Malawi and he flew in with hundreds of trunk loads of hundred dollar bills, distributed them to all the politicians, bought every politician in the in the parliament. And when the day came for him to introduce this change of constitution to the nation, he was boasting of a 98 percent win when all he needed was 66 percent. Well, there was one thing that he didn't know about. And even if he had known about it, he wouldn't have cared about it. And that that was a band of intercessors who had been praying for 10 years, who had not given up, who had not shut up, who did not quit, who when they didn't see things happening, they still pressed on and on, believing God, because they received a word from God that God would change destinies and situations. And that's the problem with the church, beloved. When we don't see things happen instantly, we say, God didn't call me to do that. We give up too easily. We quit too quickly. Instead of holding on to the word that God gives us. And sadly, many of us never get a word from God. So we got nothing to hold on to. If you don't have a word of God for your life, beloved, you are going nowhere. Amen. Sorry to tell you, if you don't have God's word working inside of you, if you don't have God's word working mightily in you, you are going nowhere except in circles. That's the problem with most of the church. We don't have a purpose. We live day to day, week to week, month to month, and year to year without a purpose. We seem to go nowhere. Well, on the day that the change of constitution bill was introduced, and I want you to listen to this carefully, because this is like a story out of the book of Esther. The president lost not the 96, but the 66 percent by three votes. And our intercessors in Malawi say, by the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. That's an incredible. When you're boasting that you're going to win this by 98 percent, and you lose the 66 percent, which was the required number by three votes. He tried to introduce the bill again and lost it a second time. Well, he couldn't introduce it a third time, and so there was only one alternative. As in African politics happens so much, he appointed who was going to be his successor and the vice. He presented these two men to the nation, but the man that he chose to be his successor was an insignificant professor from the university, whom he had walked all over for many years and decided that this man, this insignificant professor, who he thought was kind of very, very weak, would just do exactly what he was told. So the Muslim president would continue to rule in effect the nation through this man whom he appointed. The Muslim president retained the leadership of the political party that was in power. The elections came, of course they were corrupted, and this professor became the president of Malawi, and his vice president was a fundamentalist, rabid fundamentalist Muslim, who has one agenda, to see sharia law introduced into the nation of Malawi. A vice president in the nation of Malawi can only be removed by an act of parliament, which seemed an absolute impossibility. Two weeks after the new president was inaugurated, he stood up in a stadium and made a bold declaration, I do not know why I am president of the nation of Malawi. I do not know how I became president of the nation of Malawi, but this one thing I do know, God put me here, and he wasn't talking about the Islamic God, he is talking about God, the father of the Lord Jesus Christ. Immediately the man began to reveal his true colors, that he wasn't this insignificant weak character that the former president thought he was, and he began to go diametrically opposite everything that the former president stood for. The first and most significant thing that he did in the nation was to elect, was to appoint as head of the police force, a new, in charge of the police, a woman who had never, such thing had never happened in Malawi, and it so happened that this woman is born again and spirit filled. He appointed a new head of the army who's also born again. Over the last eight months, he has totally started to turn the nation around to the extent that the former president is so being horrified by what has happened, and so enraged that this man won't follow what he's supposed to do, that the former president together with some of his cabinet ministers and hierarchy in the nation, decided that they were going to assassinate the new president. If the new president was assassinated, the vice president would immediately be sworn in, being a fundamentalist Muslim, he would support the former president, introduce Sharia law into Malawi, and he would stamp out any investigation into the death of the former president. But there's one thing, beloved, that everybody tends to forget, that there is a power that God has given us, the power to shake heaven, the power to shake the earth, a power, beloved, in intercession, that is not natural, it is beyond natural, it is supernatural, because it touches the heart of God. When everybody in Malawi had thrown up their hands in despair as to what had happened in the elections, the intercessors continued to pray, continued to hold on to the word of God, continued to reach out to God, because the work is not finished until it's finished. In a special meeting called by the president to resolve tremendous friction in the parliament and between the party and himself, all of the leaders of the party and the former government were to meet at one of the palaces in Blantyre to have this great discussion. In the early hours of the morning, the new head of the police force received a vision from God in which clearly she saw the assassination of the president that very morning and a warning from God to tell him not to attend the meeting. Now, can you imagine, beloved, what that means? Here's a man who says, okay, God has put me here, but he's not born again, he doesn't know God, here's the new head of police who says, I know God, I'm in love with God, I'm spirit-filled, and she receives a vision that protects the new president. I want to tell you that's like coming out of the book of Esther. She phoned the president and she warned him. She warned him, I have received the vision from God. Now, listen to this, the president already respects his head of police because of the incredible job that she has done in the nation and he already respects the fact that she is a woman of God and he is interested in the things of God because of the testimony of the head of the police. See, but we may say one day, well, God's called me to do this and this and this and we set our faces like flint to achieving it because it's going to have a tremendous significance, significance that we don't even know about. She told me in a meeting that I've had with her that God told me many, many years ago that I was going to be the head of the police of Malawi. She said, I didn't know how no woman has ever risen to such a position. It's impossible in a nation ruled by men for such a thing to happen, but she said, God told me, she said, different people have prophesied at different times that this was going to happen. She said, I didn't disbelieve it. I hit it in my heart. I said, God, if that's you, I'll believe it. I don't know how you're going to do it. That's not my business to know how you're going to do it. I'm going to trust you. And beloved, she trusted him. She stepped into God's will for her life. She didn't say this is absolutely impossible. She didn't say this can't happen. She didn't say no way, God. She stepped into God's will and God's purpose for her life. And because she did, God was able to do the supernatural and the spectacular. The president immediately canceled his meeting. He didn't inform anybody. He just canceled the meeting with the head of police. And that morning, as all these dignitaries arrived at the palace in their Mercedes Benzes, they were suddenly stopped. It was their right to enter into the grounds and into the palace without being searched. But suddenly there was an army of police and they were all stopped and searched and found to have knives, guns, pistols, AK-47s, machetes, whatever kind of weaponry. And the plan was that in the midst of this meeting, they were going to cause a great furor and there was going to be absolute confusion. And in the midst of the confusion, the president was to be shot and killed. Immediately, the vice president would take over and squash the investigation. Because of a godly woman, because of the intercession of people that had never given up, had never stopped, had never quit, this woman was placed in power by the power of Almighty God, hallelujah. And she saved a president, saved a leader, just as Mordecai had saved the king in Babylon, beloved. It still happens today because it's the same yesterday, today and forever. You can get a little excited. We are headed to see this nation again rise up and take her place in the destiny of nations as a nation led by the things of God. This school that you saw in the video is not just another school. I don't believe in going around just building schools for the sake of building schools. If anything, I can't stand building schools. But God specifically told us to raise up a school that was going to change the leadership of the nations. And we've done it. So far, we have put 1.2 million dollars into that school. We have no major organization or churches backing us. It's just support of God's people. In the last five years, 1.2 million gone into that school. It will be finished in the next six months and it will be opened by the president of Malawi. But more important than that, the Malawian government has already told us in meetings that we are watching this school very carefully to see how it progresses. We are so excited about your vision and your purpose that if this school is a success, we want this model to be for all the nation. We want the education, the new education system, the 21st century education system of Malawi to be based on your school. I didn't know that when God said build a school. I can tell you I didn't care about it when God said build a school. But when we step into God's will, when we step into what God wants, I want to tell you something else that is directly associated with this. Since I was a little boy, I haven't had a passion for China. If anybody asked me where on earth I would ever want to be, it would be China. I've never even visited China. We've been looking all across the world at chairs, desks, whole chairs for the school. And Pastor Raz has contacted every big organization here in the United States, every outlet, and discovered that most of the pew chairs and school desks and chairs in the United States are now imported from China. So we said, well, if we're going to import, if we're going to buy from you, please can't you ship directly from China to Africa, that is halfway, instead of bringing them all the way to the United States and then sending them all the way back to Africa. And everybody came up with the same story. No, they have to come to the United States first. Well, that doubles our price. So we said, too bad for you. We'll go direct to China. And so we, there's a lady in Finland where God has also called us, and this lady had contacts in China, and she got a hold of one of her contacts and put this contact in touch with us and said, work together with her. And so we've been back and forthing, and she got a hold of this Chinese company that air freighted samples to us here in the United States. This is what we have to offer. While I was in Finland, just a couple weeks ago, the young Chinese lady was in Finland, and she sent me an email and said, I heard you are in Finland. Please tell me where you are. I'd like to come and see you. I was doing a great Easter conference and she arrived in the middle of this conference. And afterwards I was talking to someone in this, I thought she was about a 45 year old Chinese lady, but suddenly here it runs up a 25 year old. And she said, I am Linda. And I looked at Linda and I thought, oh my goodness, I thought Linda was a, an elderly lady. She said she wasn't interested in talking about chairs and desks and factories in China. All she could talk about was, oh, this meeting is incredible. This music has been phenomenal. China wants what you have produced here today. China needs it. She said, I want you to come to China, bring this band with you, bring your worship with you and come and teach the Chinese how to praise and worship the way you have here. I promise you, I know my parents are pastors in China. I said, beloved, we step into God's will here and we don't know where it's going to take us down here. God does not expect us to see the whole picture. He expects us to step out in him by faith, trusting him and believing him to do something. We take a little step here and we don't know what a giant leap it's going to be down the line. But if we never take that little step, beloved, we're never going to see the bigger picture of what God has for us and what God can do with us. It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter how insignificant you are. I was just a simple village person from Africa. God can do the impossible because he's the God of the impossible. Hallelujah. So, I said to this young Chinese lady, I said, well, you contact your parents and do whatever is necessary and report back to me. Didn't take her even 10 days. She said, my parents are registered with the government of China and I know there's a great conflict between the underground church and the registered church in China, but she said, my parents were given permission by the Chinese government to build a huge church and they have completed that. Now they want you to come. I've written and told them all about you and all of their pastors around are waiting for you to come. You cannot let us down. Hallelujah. So, Pastor Ross says, oh no. Who knows where it's going, beloved. I don't know. I'm not concerned. Just step into what you know. Step into God's will for your life right now. Step into God's purpose and God's plan for you. It's bigger than what you are. It's bigger than where you are. It's bigger than what you have. Amen. That's true. Amen. When we started building that school, I can tell you, we didn't even have one brick and one dollar. Now, 20 million bricks later and 1.2 million dollars later, the school is almost finished. That's God, friends. See, that's God. It works because He works. He never fails. Sometimes it's tough. Sometimes we can sit down and say, oh God, what have I got myself into? Well, don't let me deceive you into thinking that it's all been just wonderful plain sailing. It's been a fight. Sometimes a fight all the way up against odds that you would never believe of. We've been fighting a 10-year battle to get water, municipal water to that building site. We paid for it 10 years ago. It's still not installed and they refuse to do it. And this is again, this has gone all the way up to the president who's involved himself in putting water into our school. See, friends, there's another thing. You see, I sat one lunchtime and, you know, this water board has been driving me crazy. And I sat one lunchtime and I said, God, I have so had enough of this fight. It isn't going anywhere. And as I sat in my office and all my staff were off to lunch, I said, you know what? This thought just came across my mind. Phone the president now. I looked at my watch. I said, that's crazy. Nobody's going to be in the office. It's lunch hour. This is Malawi. And the Holy Ghost said, phone now. I picked up the telephone. I opened the directory and I just found this number and I dialed it. And the secretary came on the line and I said, I want to speak to the president's office. She said, hold on, sir. And the next thing I hear this very cultured voice. And I said, to whom am I speaking? And he said, I am the senior secretary, private principal secretary to the president. I said, oh, you're just the man I want. I said, may I know your name? He said, no, but I can tell you now I'm the principal private secretary to his excellency. He said, what is your problem? I gabbled as fast as I could. You know, you've got five minutes with these men. They're busy. They're not cared. They're not interested. So I just gushed forth my whole problem about the water. That's 10 years old. Thinking that he was going to just kind of brush it aside. And he said, oh, you have a real problem. I'm going to give you my private fax number, send me a written report, and I will deal with it. Unbeloved. See, if I just sat there and said, that's crazy. It'll never happen. I can't do it. My natural mind says, I'll never get through the president's office. I'll never reach these men. That's impossible. If you know the nation, if you know the way, it would be like phoning the white house and speaking to some top aide to president in your country. Say, it's impossible. You get some secretary, some bozo all the way down the line, who doesn't know anything about anything. That's more frustrating. There's nothing worse than trying to get somebody who you know can move and shake things, and all you get is some bozo that doesn't know anything. You think, oh my goodness. But God got me the right man. And the right man took it directly to the president, and a week later, the head of the water board in the city was sent for by the president, read the riot act, give these people what they want. It's time to step into God's will for your life, beloved. It's time to start believing that God is much bigger than yourself, much bigger than your abilities, much bigger than your finances, much bigger than all of the natural things that you have. God is bigger than it all. He can do it, hallelujah. He can do the impossible. All he needs is for a vessel, you, to step out into his will for your life. Turn with me to 1st Samuel, chapter 18. Sometimes we all like to hear a success story, don't we? We all like to hear something that is wonderful, like I've just shared. And I'm going to tell you another side of the same issue. God is just waiting for you to come into alignment with him and his purpose. And here's a man that came into alignment, so came into alignment with God. Sometimes we think coming into alignment with God means I'm going to be some great preacher. One thing I can tell you, I'm really not concerned or cared about the rewards that men have to offer. I'm not interested in the praises and the accolades of men. I couldn't care less about those things. I'm concerned about God's purpose, God's plan, God's will, and above all, God's glory. You can't be like that unless you really die. And you can't die unless the Holy Spirit takes you there. Amen? The moment we speak about death, and I can watch some of you switch off. Die? Why should we want to die? It's unnatural to die. Of course it's unnatural to die. That's why it's God's purpose. Verse one, And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. And Saul took him that day, and would let him go no more home to his father's house. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan, this is the prince of Israel. This is the next king. This is the man who is supposed to take over the kingdom. This doesn't happen, beloved, because you feel emotional. This doesn't happen before, because you just feel good at the moment. I want to tell you, this was a work of God inside of Jonathan. And what did Jonathan do? He stepped into alignment with God's will, and God's purpose for his life. We like to focus on David, because David is the victorious one. Now, I want to tell you something. I believe when we all go to heaven, we're going to find Jonathan has a better place than maybe even David. How does the prince of Israel, how does the son of the king of the nation, prefer a shepherd boy to himself? Because that's what he did. How does this prince in his royal robes, in all of his regalia of the office that was his, in all of the splendor of being the son of the king, the riches, the pomp, the ceremony, the servants, the everything that was his, by virtue of the fact he was the son of the king. But I want to tell you something. This he was a real son of God, and he was ready to step in. He came into alignment with God's will. How could he come into alignment with God's will? See, it's very exciting for us to say we're coming into alignment with God's will, and we're elevated to a place of notoriety. It's another story all together when we say we're coming into alignment with God's will, and we're brought down, down to the lowest place. Jesus Christ made himself of no reputation, of no reputation, beloved. We are all schooled and trained and taught to make ourselves something in this world, to make ourselves somebody, to elevate ourselves, to equip ourselves, to get ourselves educated, so on and so on and so on, that we might be made known to the world who we are, our name. But Jesus Christ, God incarnate, God in the flesh, made himself of no reputation, took upon himself the form of a servant not just any servant, the lowliest bond slave. And the lowliest bond slave in the houses of those days was the slave who washed the feet of the visitors who came by. He was a no-name slave. He was a no-recognized slave. He was totally ignored. His only job was to wash the dirty feet of travelers who came to the house. He was an insignificant slave, and that's what Jesus did, wrapped himself with a towel, took a basin of water, humbled himself, kneeled before his disciples, and washed their feet. Then Jonathan and David made a covenant because he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him and gave it to David, and the garments even to his sword and his bow, his weapons. You never gave your weapons away. A prince would never, never, never, never give his sword and his bow to anybody beloved. It was made of the finest steel. It was a crafted sword. It was, people recognized it as the sword of office. It wasn't just any sword. It was the sword of office. But what is Jonathan doing? Just as David had sat on the hillsides of Bethlehem and worshiped God and praised God, there was a young man, a son of the king, who had sat in the palace and in the same fashion had learned to worship God, had learned to praise God, had learned to come into alignment with God, had learned to fall in love with God, had learned to know God passionately. There was no difference between Jonathan, the shepherd boy of Bethlehem, I mean David, the shepherd boy of Bethlehem, and Jonathan, the son of the king. Each knew God equally. Each knew God's heartbeat pouring into their lives. They lived for one purpose. They lived for one desire. They lived for one thing, to glorify God, to love God, to enjoy God, to know Him like they had never known Him. When you start to live like that, I want to tell you God's going to start to open the realm of His purposes and His plan. So many of us spend our lives wanting to know what does God want me to do? Where shall I go? What shall I do? What shall I achieve? Beloved, forget about that. Know Him, enjoy Him, love Him, get excited about Him. That's the purpose of our lives. He stripped Himself of everything that was representative of who He was. He did it willingly. He did it excitedly. He did it with full passion. He did it, beloved, knowing this one fact, that I will not be king. Because He says to David, you will be the king and I will be next to you in the kingdom. What a thing. Now, friends, I want to tell you, could you do that? Could you do that? How many of us spend our lives fighting somebody because we think they want our place? How many of us are ready to take a sword and hack people to pieces? Oh, not literally with a literal sword, but with our tongue, we'll demolish anybody who dares to step on our territory and try to take over. That's the problem with the pastorate across the nations of the world. Some young man rises up and he's full of the anointing and he's full of the power and God starts to use him and suddenly all the older pastor gets fearful, gets afraid. This young whippersnapper is going to knock me off my pedestal and take over, kill him, demolish him. When I count not so long ago in Malawi, a young man who spent his days in the mountains fasting and praying, seeking the face of God and the anointing of God began to come upon him and and God started to use him in the supernatural. He was healing people and super special things were happening. There was a pastor in, one of the associate pastors in a big church in South Africa whose daughter was a wheelchair case and this young man met this pastor and the daughter and the pastor sensed there's something special about the young man and he said, would you pray for my daughter? And this simple village African laid his hands on the girl and she immediately rose up out of the wheelchair. This pastor of this great church was having a conference six months down the line and said to the young man, I want you to be in the conference. Well, the day of the conference came and a couple of days into the conference the pastor of this church stood up and said, by the way, where is this young evangelist so-and-so from Malawi? Nobody. He announced it two or three times and sitting right in the very front was this evangelist's pastor and another lady minister from missionary lady from Malawi. And after announcing several times, where is this young man? Where's this young man? And nobody put his hand up and nobody came forward. This pastor looked at the pastor of this young man and said, but aren't you his pastor? And the pastor sitting there, no, I've never heard of him. I don't know who you're talking about. And this pastor turned to the lady missionary next to him and said, but Mrs. So-and-so, don't you know this young man? Oh no, she said, I've never heard of him either. Well, this really began to trouble this pastor and so he pressed the issue. After the meeting that morning, he called them to his office and he said to this Malawian pastor, he said, but I'm sure that this young man is one of your evangelists in your church. And this pastor still insisted, no, I don't know him. He didn't know him because he thought he was going to be dethroned, upstaged. And finally, when the pastor turned to the lady missionary and he said, but I'm sure. And finally the lady missionary broke and she said, but you do know him. He's in your church. And suddenly the truth was out. And this pastor handed him the air tickets and said, go home, I don't need you in my conference. See friends, fear, fear. We are raised with the mentality that anybody that's going to threaten our territory, we got to kill them. Anybody that's going to take over, I better stamp him down and wipe him out. It's not the nature of God. That's why the body of Christ can't grow the way it's supposed to grow. Because we're all afraid. We're all so desperately holding on to our position and our place and we're afraid. But I want to tell you, if you let go of your position and your place, God's got a higher calling. God's got a greater purpose. God's got something better for you. Many of us never enter into God's better thing for our lives because we can't come into alignment with God's will for us. Come on friends. Doesn't matter what level. I'm reminded tonight of the great intercessor, Reese Howells. Reese Howells used to hold Friday evangelistic meetings and great crowds of young people would come and get saved and incredible things would happen. But God wanted to promote Reese Howells to another level of intercession. And so he told Reese Howells, I want you to hand over these meetings to your best friend. Reese Howells, God didn't tell him the reason why. That's all he told him. I want you to hand over these meetings to your best friend. And that seemed a good thing and Reese Howells was all excited until the first night that his best friend was preaching and that night the Holy Spirit fell on his friend like it had never fallen on him. More souls were saved that night than ever had been saved during his Friday evening meetings. And as he sat there, his blood began to boil. He began to get all angry inside. Why is God using him more than he's used me? That's our mentality. See? And the Holy Spirit zeroed in on Reese Howells and told him, what are you all upset about? Why are you angry? And first he said, well, no, no, I'm not angry. Yes, you are. What are you all angry about? No, no, no, I'm not. Tell me the truth. Until finally Reese Howells had to say, I'm jealous. I'm jealous. I'm afraid. Beloved, how much of our lives is filled with jealousy and fear that somebody is going to be better than we are. Somebody is going to be more glorious than we are. Somebody is going to shine brighter than we are. Yet we forget that somebody paid a price. Somebody locked himself in with God. Somebody spent time in the holy place. Somebody, beloved, had been with him and he had fallen on them and filled them and saturated them. That's where it begins. That's what it takes. It doesn't matter how eloquent you are in the pulpit. It doesn't matter what speech training you've had. It doesn't matter which Bible school you went to. It doesn't matter how educated you are, beloved. None of those things are important. When you get into the presence of God, draw nigh unto the Lord and he will draw nigh unto you and fill you with his power and fill you with his anointing for his purpose and his plan and his glory. Jonathan stepped into alignment with the will of God. You will not be the prince of Israel. You will not be the prince of Israel. Do you know what he became? A spy. A spy. A simple spy. Now we may say, well, God's hand was on David. God was well able to take care of David. Yes, he was. But Jonathan became a spy. A spy on his own father to find out every detail of what Saul planned to get rid of David. I've heard preachers preach on this relationship between Jonathan and David and say, preaching that Jonathan died because he couldn't go with the new order. He had to stay with the old order. Love does not keep you bound to the old order. Love keeps you flowing with God. Love keeps you in the plan of God. Love keeps you in the purposes of God. Love keeps you in the very throne room of God to know the mind and will of almighty God, beloved. If you are in love with him, if you are passionate about him, if you are excited about him, if you're on fire with him, he will show you his purpose for your life. What was Jonathan's purpose? To be a servant to David. To be nothing but a servant to David. To see David lifted up. To see David exalted. To see David take the throne and I will be next unto you in the kingdom. You tell me that's not stepping into alignment with God's will for your life? Oh, it may have come about because his father had fallen and his father had failed and his father had negated everything that God purposed to do. But nevertheless, I want to tell you, Jonathan had one of two choices. He could go with God's will and God's plan and align himself with God's will or he could fight against it and if he fought against it, he was dead, dead, dead. Because God would have dealt with him. But he didn't. He received God's plan for the nation. He received God's will for the nation. He received God's purpose for the nation. He received God's desire for the nation and so in love with God, he was in love with David. He could not be in love with God beloved and not love whom God had chosen. You can't say I love God and hate whom God has chosen. You can't say I adore you God and be angry with the person that God is raising up. You know why so much of our church life and work fails is because every one of us fails to raise up a disciple. Everyone sitting here tonight should have a disciple. I don't care how young, how old you are. You should have somebody that you are already. I don't care if you have been saved one day. You better go find somebody that you can make your disciple. Do you know why we never grow in the word and we never grow in faith and we never grow in our substance in God? It's because we don't have a disciple. We don't have somebody that we're teaching and training. When missionaries come to Africa, I tell them all the time get yourself a native and disciple them. I don't care what level you are. I don't care how old you are in Christ. I don't care what you've done or what you haven't done. Find a native and disciple them. Leave behind a legacy. How many people have ever discipled anybody? I want to tell you if you don't have a disciple, you're never gonna give. All the riches of God's word that have been sowed into you year in and year out, day in and day out, all the truth of this word, all the riches of what you know of the kingdom of God and it's sitting inside of you and you really aren't going anywhere with it because you've never taken somebody and discipled them and shared with them what God has given you, what God has planted in you, what God has filled in you. So you don't grow either. Here was a man when he stepped into alignment with God's will, he lost the kingdom. But I want to tell you he's going to shine in eternity. He's going to shine in eternity. Beloved, what does it matter if all God wants us to do is sweep the floors and wash the dishes as long as we do it with the passion of Christ because there are people who spend their whole lives sweeping the floors and washing the dishes and at the end of their life they are bitter that they swept the floors and washed the dishes. What's the difference between Martha and Mary? Oh fine, there are people who do that. You hear people all the time say, well I'm just a Mary. Well honey, you don't just have to be a Mary. You're a Mary if you want to be a Mary and usually those kind of Marys just want somebody to say, oh Mary, well done. You know what prevents people from stepping into alignment with God's will? Because they spend their lives waiting to hear from a human mouth praises and accolades and when we don't hear it we all get bitter and twisted. You didn't tell me I did well. Well you didn't. See there's a western mentality. It doesn't matter how rotten the job is nowadays. You still got to tell somebody they tried their best. Come to Africa, you don't get that there. I can tell you now. It doesn't matter how rotten somebody's done something, you still got to tell them you tried your best. So all the school dropouts across this nation have tried their best but failed. Come on, I want to tell you beloved, that's not good enough. We need a standard. We need an absolute standard again. We need that standard in the body of Christ. Step into alignment with God's will for your life and see the supernatural. When you step into alignment with God's will, you are going to see the supernatural happen. The building of that school in Malawi is a supernatural thing. Of course we've put a lot of natural effort into it but it's a supernatural thing and everybody recognizes it in the nation as something of God, as something supernatural because it's going to shake the nation for the glory of God. Go out and step into God's will, into alignment. Get yourself in the flow of God. Get yourself in the purpose of God and you will see His spectacular supernatural things happen. You say, well, where on earth did Jonathan see supernatural spectacular things happen? Beloved, when he took his armor bearer and went up against the army of the Philistines, just two men against the entire army of the Philistines and God wrought a mighty victory. Why? Because one man was willing to step into alignment with God's will. Hallelujah! How dare you defy the armies of God? It's time we got a little indignation inside of us. A little bit of spiritual anger at what's going on, at the slothfulness and casualness and carelessness even of ourselves and our own lives. God is looking for you tonight to step into alignment with His will, not change His plan, change His will to suit you but to step into His purpose, to step into His will and see the supernatural take place and it will. Let us pray. Tonight I challenge you to take up that challenge, especially you young people. There's so much to do on this planet. There's so many opportunities. Money is not a factor. I want to tell you tonight money is not a factor. It's an excuse. Tonight I challenge you to take up this challenge to step into God's will. That's you tonight. I want you to stand right where you are. I take up this challenge to step into God's will for my life. God's will and God's plan. Yes Lord! May I have the musicians please? Father, Father, it's easy beloved. Come here to this house. I've seen you grow in the last few years that we've been coming here. Seen some wonderful things happen. That's not the end. If you're willing to step into alignment with God's will for this place, you can see revival in this state, in this nation. There's no limits to what God can do. I want us to lift up our hands to the Lord tonight. Say Lord I take your challenge. I will step into alignment with your word and your will to see you in my life. I will not be jealous. I will not be envious. I will seek to lift up my brother. I will seek that he's better than me because this is your way. This is your kingdom. Lord if I can't do it, I'll make sure somebody else can do it and I'll give my life for that purpose because the reward will also be mine to see a star, to see a victor. Oh Father, I give myself afresh and anew to you tonight in Jesus name for your glory. You know as I was coming in this evening I am it's one thing to go on vacation you know but I always I'm just enamored by the ocean, by the sea and by the things that come. I want to tell you about a time I was out walking. I love to walk around the seashore and we had a big storm come and the waves were bigger than we usually see in that area. They were big you know nice size for there and I noticed the only you know the things that changed were that the people weren't there. The birds still flew. The pelicans still sat in the water. In fact the pelicans were just hovering. I had never seen that quite like that before where they they weren't afraid of the huge waves. It looked like it was an opportunity. It looked like it was going to show more fish than what usually showed and so the pelicans were just running right over this and I'll tell you it was just like it's exactly what brother Michael was speaking to us tonight. You see the pelican is not afraid of both realms. He's not afraid of the air and he's not afraid of the water because he can operate in both because he knows how he's been created. We have been created to operate in the realm of the physical but we've been created to operate in the realm of the spiritual also and we're not going to fail if he has called us to do what he's called us to do. If we're confident in what he's had us do we may be even in a storm experience something that we wouldn't experience at another time because it's an opportunity to do something and yet the fear that we have is what immobilizes us so many times. I'm going if it was a human everybody's running in there's a storm coming but if these things are in their element they're not afraid of the storm coming. They're not afraid of big waves. They're not afraid of the lightning and the thunder. They're not afraid of more water falling into an ocean. They're in their element. The heart that my brother's speaking is are we in our element when we're in the spirit because in the spirit is where we're going to find the life that is going to bring forth the things that God has declared. We'll be afraid of them in the natural. We'll have expectation of people in the natural. That will slow us down. We'll be afraid what they think if it's possible. If we would do this what would they think and the truth is who cares. If it really is God let the storm come. It may be an opportunity to have things that you wouldn't have in other times. That's my little vacation story of pelicans. I watched out there for an hour as these pelicans would just hover over these great waves and go right into them. Come out with fish unafraid. They knew in the water they were at home. They knew in the air they were at home. Why do we fear? Here's what I want us to do. Kendra led us in a couple songs that I think there is a place in your heart that I'm longing to go. Won't you show me? You may sputter the first time but you are in his element as you walk out into the places he's called you to do. It gives you a freedom to say it is not my thing that I can win or lose. It is his thing that he will perform through me and he will perform it. He spoke it right. Fear is what immobilizes the church especially in the western world. Fear immobilizes us. Expectation of man immobilizes which is fear. Whom have we to fear? God is for us. Who can be against us? We're going to sing this song and just open yourself up. There's nobody else here to impress. Open yourself up and say show me God. Show me what it is you want me to do. Show me what it is that I can do through you. Show me where you will take me. Show me what it is to walk in the spirit and not worry about what's in the natural. I need it myself. Let's sing that together. And hear what he is saying that you look in that and say with his word because I don't have to make his word work. He makes his word work. But as you begin to step and walk in that kind of obedience you'll find there are many great people in God who didn't start out to be great people with God. They simply were obedient people and God made them great. Now you get to that point. What is it that God's dealing with you right now about? Maybe it's something in your own life that he has been saying you won't trust me with that. You won't give it up because you're afraid of what it'll cost you. You won't change that relationship because you're afraid of what it'll cost you. You won't allow yourself to walk in that direction because you're wondering what people will say about it and yet I have prompted you over and over about it. Those are the places of obedience that he wants a simple obedient heart to say yes Lord I will follow. Yes Lord I will walk to you. What you have determined for me that will be my course. And so if you're here today and you don't know what it means now you do. What God moves upon your spirit with that's where your call to obedience is and as you obey in that area it will become another area and God will walk you into a maturity. God will entrust you with larger vision and understanding. God will lead you to people who need your experience but he has to know that you believe your own experience first. It's simple. It's believing against the elements that would appear to be something that they're not. God is in charge. God's word will stand. He is faithful who has promised. He is faithful to complete it and I challenge you tonight. You want a vibrant church? You've got to be a vibrant Christian. You want to be a vibrant Christian? You have to know that the Spirit of God works in you and when you have a church full of people who know that God works for them you have a church full of revival and a vibrancy that other people find very attractive because they want to see it work in their lives too. I used to say God there's a place that I want to go in you that maybe I just haven't had much expectation in. Maybe I've just assumed that you are going to do all this stuff and I've never even laid claim to things that you will work. You have used brother Michael to and spread seed. You have brought forth message of your word. Okay, I'm calling you again. I'm directing your steps again. I'm beckoning to you again. Will you believe me and will you take the step? Will you be satisfied? We have heard you and God there is a tenderness of spirit. Your will be done because we determined that we will follow after those people who wanted to chase after your ways and get ourselves again into your ways. Thank you oh God that that prayer would be honored and God that your spirit even now would begin to speak things into the hearts and minds of your people oh God about challenges that you have made to them before. Direction you have given before. Each one who repeated the prayer thought that your spirit would even bring back some of those words that were spoken in younger years oh God where they have made promises and they were standing faithful and then it kind of ebbed away. You would rekindle that love and that courage and that boldness and that desire. It's up to me. I want you to infuse us again with that. Would you bring back that sparkle that is in us to speak to those believing that you'll work in their life. God let this be a night of mark. Let this be a night oh God of will become the person that you have called me to be. I am now going to dedicate myself. I'm going to be moved into that place of obedience. You declare it tonight. Every obedient heart oh God. Every heart who desires to know your voice. They have failed in the past. We may have failed royal. You want to know that you're still with us. We want to know that everything is so deep that you've rejected us oh God. You speak life. You speak truth. We be unashamed and unafraid to step forth oh God and bring life and even speak vision one to another oh God. Teach us how Lord.
