Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the speaker shares two illustrations to emphasize the importance of praying for one another and loving one another. The first illustration involves watching water dripping under a sluice gate into a mill pond, where debris like glass, wood, and even a dead cat are carried away by the force of the water. The speaker compares this to the need for our love to flow with force, removing negative emotions like jealousy, malice, and criticism. The second illustration involves a secretary at a convention confessing to being a secret smoker, highlighting the power of the Holy Spirit to bring about transformation in our lives. The speaker encourages listeners to seek a deep fellowship with God and allow the Holy Spirit to flood their hearts, leading to notable change in their lives.
Sermon Transcription
This joy, love letter, it still continues to flood and to fill our hearts, and we thank God for it. We thank God for the response yesterday morning and for the very fine response last night to the ministry. And we want to continue in Psalm even more tonight, so please remember that in your prayers. Come and encourage others to come with you. Philippians, chapter 1, verse number 1. Paul and Timothy, as the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus, which are at Philippi with the bishops and deacons, yet it's still in peace. We know that the only way to do that is to spread this word here in a common interest and activity. The letter, the library, you see, and the Bible says fellowship. Certainly, it is a fellowship in prayer. Really, it is in my hope and knit together in prayer. We have been at this for a while. Please notice this. I see praise first for the seers. You see it's free. Second, a praise for the martyrs. Being for the fruits of Jesus Christ. A praise for the converts. See your roots up. See two ways you can manage. There are two or three. I'll hear that when I get home. In the deity of the person. Be hospitable. He had fallen. You can't know who's here. See in John, the same word is chosen. Take my love. Have you got that? Jesus comes. For these are days when the women. The woman looks upon you this morning. Looks upon me and says, you're my darling. You're my trusted one. I'm depending upon you. Now see things. Thanking God one for another. Praying one for another. And loving one another. As I stood there, I could see a piece of grass. And the water was just trickling down. And at that moment, a couple of men came up. Yes, I loved her. And I looked at them. And I said, well, I never said a word about smoothies. I know. You see, whenever he loved the love of my life. In the same building there. And brethren, I don't care what your problem. In number 330. 330. Holy Father, forgive us for knowing so much theoretically. And for not practicing what we ought to do day by day. Oh, may thy love be shared abroad in our heart by the Holy Spirit. Every moment of every day. That we may indeed know this love going out to thee. To all saints. And to the perishing souls of men and women. Oh, for a mighty baptism in Calvary's love. Lord, Lord, we long for this more and more. That thy love may permeate and pervade through every part of these beings of ours. Part of thy blessing. Help us, oh God, to thank God one for another. To be continually praying one for another. And above all, for love. And this is only possible as we know the indwelling and the infilling. Meet it, real Father, through Jesus Christ, our wonderful Lord.
