Sermon Summary
Bernard Fell preaches on the importance of seizing the opportunity to redeem the time in the midst of evil days, emphasizing the value of each moment as a precious gift from God. He urges believers to seek God's approval above all else, warning against investing in worldly praise which leads to eternal loss. Fell encourages the congregation to focus on present responsibilities, using time wisely to serve others, pray earnestly, and reflect the love of Christ in all actions, while eagerly awaiting the return of the Lord.
The Time Is Short - Eph. 5:16
Buying up the opportunity, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:l6 There's an unseen, priceless treasure, Placed by God within our care Precious hours with jewelled minutes Making up the golden year. Time is measured, not by moments, But by tasks accomplished well; Time redeemed is wealth eternal, Which the Scriptures now foretell. Seek the Lord's full approbation: For ought else is worthless dross; Praise of men, like wood, hay, stubble, Only spells eternal loss. Sorrow not o'er past shortcomings, Present duties left undone; Now invest the days remaining Ere the course of time is run. Fill thy lips with words of kindness, Lift thy voice in earnest prayer, Let thine eyes reflect the Saviour, And thy hands a burden share. With a heart touched with compassion, Swift of foot to help the weak, Occupy till His returning, And His glory ever seek.
