Come Out of Her My People

Sermon Summary
Phil Beach Jr. emphasizes the urgent call for believers to separate themselves from the seductive influences of the world, as highlighted in Revelation 18:4, 'Come out of her, my people.' He discusses the spiritual decay within the church, warning against complacency and self-sufficiency that leads to a lack of dependence on God. Beach encourages the congregation to seek true richness in Christ, which is birthed through trials and tribulations, rather than the fleeting pleasures of the world. He prophesies a coming awakening where God's people will hunger for Him amidst judgment and purging, ultimately leading to a revival in the church. The message serves as a call to action for believers to prepare their hearts and lives for the shaking that is to come.

Testing, one, two, three, good, okay, we're all set. Praise the Lord. Father, we thank you for the word of God this morning. We thank you, Lord, that you have visited us and you have manifest your presence to us, Lord. And we thank you, Lord, for the spoil that you are giving us in the battle. We thank you, Lord, that you are enriching us with grace and mercy and truth and that you are making us wealthy in Christ. You are filling our lives with the precious substance of what Christ himself is made of, the qualities, the virtues. You're filling our hearts with the faith that is born in adversity. You're filling our heart with the patience that is birthed out of tribulation and trial. You're filling our hearts with dependence on you that is born out of perplexity and pressure beyond human endurance. We thank you, Lord, for making us wealthy, for building in us those things that the church is to be made of, those things that are eternal, those things that will be manifest at the day of his appearing, the things that will be worthy of praise and worthy of honor and worthy of glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. And on the other hand, we thank you, Lord, that you are purging us and delivering us from those things in our lives, Lord, that are not worthy of your praise, that are not worthy of being honored, Lord. We thank you that we are being delivered from those things in our lives, O God, that bring shame to your name, that bring disgrace to the holy name of Christ that we have been called by. We ask, Lord, that this morning you would give wisdom, you would give utterance for this word, O God, and that it would find good ground and that it would bring forth 100 fold in all of our hearts, Lord. We commit it and its ability, Lord, to bring about your intention into your hands, we pray in Christ's name, amen and amen. I would like to turn to Revelation chapter 18, and I wanna read one particular scripture as the title of this message, and then with the help of God's grace, I want to go into an application of this particular scripture and show how the Lord would teach us an aspect of the meaning of this scripture. Revelation chapter 18, the book of Revelation is an incredible book. I wanna encourage you to do as the book says, read it and be blessed. Read it and be blessed. Revelation chapter 18, verse number four. And I heard another voice from heaven saying, come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins and that you receive not her plagues. The title to this message this morning is simply come out of her, my people. Come out of her, my people. Now, before we go into this message, the application that we wanna bring this morning, it is not my intention, nor do I believe, it's the Holy Spirit's intention in relation to this message that he's put on my heart for you and I to equate coming out of her, my people, as a particular church or a church system. Though there may be application of this particular scripture to a particular church system in the world today, that is not the intention of my heart this morning and nor do I believe it's the intention of this message that the Lord put on my heart. So, right from the beginning, please do not equate come out of her, my people as coming out of a particular church or a church tradition. Rather, what we wanna do is make this message applicable to all people, no matter what particular local church you belong to, because let me tell you, this message is applicable to those who feel that they've come out of church tradition and religious tradition and are New Testament believers. This is applicable to no matter who you are, no matter what you believe. And we can't be, at this moment, I don't want us to come to the place where we feel like, yes, this is a good message for Brother so-and-so. No, I wish Sister so-and-so would hear this message because I don't believe that that's the application today. Now, of course, when the Scripture says, come out of her, my people, her there is referring to Babylon. It's referring to the Scripture here in verse number two of 18. Let's just read the first few verses. We're gonna lay a foundation and then we're gonna build upon that foundation this morning. Before we go into it, let me say this, that I believe that the Lord is revealing to my own heart, and I seem to feel that there's a witness and a testimony among many Christians and Christian leaders in the body of Christ. I believe the day is coming when God's people who have gone through the fire, who have gone through the purging, and who are, in fact, almost like Joseph, they're there with the bread ready to deal with the famine. I believe the day is coming when the church is not going to be able to accommodate the great influx of hungry, confused, despondent souls that are gonna come running to the church because they have experienced a complete upheaval and upshaking of all the things that they have trusted in. I can almost say confidently, and I believe that it's supported by the word of God, but I can say prophetically, based on the word of God, that there is coming a day, and I don't believe it's far off, when the church is going to have to open its doors seven days a week. I believe that God is going to bring such a massive awakening into this country, and it's going to affect the church. For the past couple days, you know, it's been raining, and I've had to go to ShopRite a few times, and I also had to go to another business, and I was just amazed at how the rain was coming down in torrents. I mean, it was raining hard, yet the ShopRite parking lot was full. It was at max, and people were going in with umbrellas and raincoats, and they had on boots, and the whole nine yards. And here I was waiting for, was I waiting for you? Yeah, you were in the ShopRite. And I was there waiting, I was reading my Bible, and I was praying, and I began to weep before God because my spirit was so grieved. And I said, God, here, this place of business on a rainy, miserable day in the natural. I particularly like rain, so it's not miserable to me, but usually it's equated as a miserable day. And here, ShopRite is full of people. Rain or shine, hail or snow, when people need food, they go to ShopRite, or to Save-A-Center, or to the grocery stores. And I said, Lord, how come, how come there isn't this kind of a hunger and a thirst in the body of Christ for the things of God? You know, on a rainy, snowy day, people say, oh, well, we won't gather together today. But boy, I'll tell you, if they need food, they're at ShopRite. And what the Lord began to speak to me is this. He said, the days are coming, Phil, when there is going to be such an awakening within the church and such a dealing of God in the church that God's people are going to be just like those who are going to the ShopRite because they have need of food. There is a harvest that is coming to the church of Jesus Christ, and God is going to prepare a people who are going to be ready to go after the things of God 100%. Now, I know that when we listen to this, and then we look around, we say, but it doesn't seem like it's ever possible. But this is why God is going to bring judgment and purging in America. Because it's the only way that the Lord's people are going to be awakened and come into the place where they are hungering and thirsting after the things of God. It's the only way it's going to happen. And so, the day is coming when God's people everywhere are going to be forced to cry out to God because God loves us too much to let us be seduced and let us be slowly brought into a state of spiritual decay and spiritual decline to the point where, like Colette said, we get to the point where we don't even need the Lord. We profess Him with our mouth, but our hearts are far with Him. And what we want to see this morning is we want to see the spirit that is behind this seduction that is going on in the church in America today and that visits you and I every day. We have to battle with this spirit. We are in the world, but we're not of the world. But as long as we're in this world, there is a spirit of Babylon, a spirit of harlotry, a spirit of seduction that is after you and I. And the intent of this spirit of seduction and the spirit of harlotry is to turn our hearts from God, not our profession. Don't you think for a moment that this spirit of harlotry is stupid enough to get us to deny the Lord with our mouth. He knows if we do that, we'd be alarmed. So He gets our hearts far from God, but oh, He allows our profession to continue. We got a good profession. We got a good religious system. We have good external religion. We have good programs, whatever it might be, as long as the hearts are really in a place where they're not drawing their sufficiency from God, but drawing their pleasure and their sufficiency from the things around the world. And this is the nature of Babylon. This is the nature of the harlot. This is the nature of the war that's going on in the book of Revelation. If you read through the book of Revelation and not try and get locked into traditional interpretations, they may be correct, they may not be. I'm not here to try and interpret the book of Revelation in a literal way and identify certain countries or peoples or religious systems with particular passages in the book of Revelation. But get beyond that and go into the spirit of the book of Revelation and your eyes will be opened and it will be a blessing to you. It'll be a blessing to you. You'll see that there's a war going on in the book of Revelation. You'll see there's a conflict going on. There are a people and there's a conflict and there's devotion toward God and there's devotion toward a beast. So this morning, by the help of God's grace, we want to communicate from the Word application to this come out of her my people. Come out of her my people. Now, I'd like if you would please to turn to Revelation 18 like I said and we're gonna read the first few verses. And after these things, that is after verse number 17 or chapter 17 where the Bible introduces this great harlot called Mystery Babylon. Now, verse number one of Revelation chapter 18. And after these things, I saw another angel come down from heaven having great power and the earth was lightened with his glory. You know, as I was reading this, I was realizing that when you start dealing with this spirit of Babylon and this spirit of harlotry, you need great power from God. You need great power from the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm so impressed with this verse where the angel that was dealing with this and that was bringing this revelation had great power, power to the point where the whole earth was enlightened by his light. That's what we need. We need power. We need power with God. We need great power from the Lord Jesus Christ. As Joe said, we need to get into the word of God and let the word of God so transform our lives, so change us so as to affect us in a very real way. Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119 verse 11. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Thy word is more precious to me than silver and gold and by thy word I have gotten more understanding than all my teachers, the psalmist says. Oh, how we need the Lord to quicken his word. So I was impressed by this beginning verse. God, when we deal with this revelation of Babylon and this harlotry spirit, we need power from God because when you touch this spirit of Babylon and this harlot spirit, you're touching a spirit that's been seducing the church from its inception. You're not talking about a particular denomination so much as a spirit that has been operating in the world from generation to generation to generation to generation. You're talking about the very powers of hell that are set against and arrayed against the testimony of Jesus Christ in the earth. So when you deal with this, boy, we need the power of God. We need the light of God's countenance shining upon us. Verse two, and he cried mightily with a strong voice saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become the habitation of devils and the hold of every foul spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, all nations. So we know this, that this spirit of Babylon, this harlot, spiritual harlot, has caused all nations to drink of her fornication and her uncleanness and all of her abominations. So we know that whatever this spirit is, its influence is inclusive, all the nations of the world. So we're not dealing with some little thing here. We're dealing with a great, awful, evil atrocity. So all the nations, according to the Bible, have committed fornication and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, listen, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. So not only has all the nations, not only has all the nations been seduced by this spirit, but there are merchants in the world, tradesmen, and according to the Bible, they have been made rich by this spirit of Babylon. Now I do not believe that the scripture here essentially is speaking about physical wealth in and of itself. I don't believe it. I believe that there is a, when Jesus said in Luke, woe unto you that are rich, I don't think that Jesus only, although I do think he meant that it's hard for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God, but I don't think he was essentially speaking about physical wealth, because wealth in and of itself is not evil, it's what's in the heart. So here, there are merchants who have been made rich. There is a richness, there is a fullness that we can be engaging in that's leading us from the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the opposite of dependence and sense of need for God. And so this spirit that has seduced the nations and has caused these merchants to become rich essentially is responsible, listen, essentially is responsible for the state of not feeling a need for God in the world today. Now you know that there's not a need for God in the world today. People are very much preoccupied with themselves and with whatever it is they're involved in. There's no real need for God. But the tragedy, beloved, is that this mindset has crept into the church, and there is no longer a sense of desperation. What did the New Testament church do? They radically got changed, they radically got saved, they sold their possessions. Basically what that was, it was a testimony, it was a reflection of how deeply and how strongly the grace of God released them from greed and covetousness. They were wanderers, they were sojourners, they considered themselves to be strangers and pilgrims in this world. They were looking for a city whose builder and maker was God. They were heavenly minded. You see, the early church was birthed, and they walked in this world, but they were not of the world. And because of that, they transformed the known generation. There was an incredible testimony. But very shortly after that, something began to happen. This spirit of harlotry, this spirit of Babylon began to seduce the church at large. There's always been a remnant from generation to generation, but at large it began to seduce, and it began to introduce into our lives things that took the place of the Lord himself. And began to quench that sense of desperation, that sense of hunger. Now I'll tell you what, a lot of Christians, until God deals in their life, they're going to hear these kind of things and they're going to say, what are you talking about? We don't want to hear this. We want to continue on with our prosperity and our good times, praise God, hallelujah. That's all right. No quorums at all with such a testimony. But I'll tell you, according to the scriptures, the day's going to come when God's people are going to be brought to an end of themselves. Now, we can see the various different characteristics of this spirit of Babylon. And that brings us to verse number four. Come out of her, my people. Now I want you to notice in chapter 13, and then chapter 14, I want you to notice two scriptures. And this is where we're going to lay the foundation, okay? This is where these truths are going to become applicable to you and I. Verse one, chapter 13 of the book of Revelation. Watch this. And I stood upon the sand of the sea and I saw a beast rise out of the sea. Okay, so here we have sand. And it's out of this sand and out of this sea that a beast is rising. All right, this is important. Now go to chapter 14, verse one. Now he has another vision and what does he see? And I looked and lo, a lamb stood on the Mount Zion. So here we have a vision of a beast and you have sand and here you have a vision of the lamb and a rock, a mountain. Now, believe it or not, those two foundations are essential for us to understand the meaning of the spirit of Babylon and the spirit of harlotry. If you'll turn your Bibles to Matthew, Matthew chapter seven, verse number 24. Listen to this. Matthew chapter seven, verse number 24. Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man that built his house upon a rock. Now there's a rock and the rain descends and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house and it fell not for it was founded upon a rock. And everyone that hears these sayings of mine and doeth them not shall be likened unto a foolish man which built his house upon the sand. And the rain descends and the floods came and the winds blew and beat upon that house and it fell and great was the fall thereof. So in this particular portion of Scripture, we've got two foundations. We've got sand as one foundation and we've got a rock as another foundation. Those who obey the word of God are those who are building upon the rock. Those who do not obey God's word are those who are building upon the sand. So listen closely. When you look in Revelation chapter 13 and you see all of the dreadful things that the beast is doing in the world and you look in Revelation chapter 17 and Revelation chapter 18 and you see all of the dreadful things that the harlot is doing and that this great mystery Babylon is doing, understand this. The power of the Babylonian system and the harlot in the world today is found in the realm of the sand. That is, whenever we find in our life an area of disobedience, that area of our life is subject to the powers of the world system, subject to the powers of Babylon, the powers of the harlot system because the beast rises out of the sea which is upon the sand. So the spiritual activity going on in the world today that is seducing people is rooted and grounded in disobedience. Moreover, the rock where the lamb is, where the overcomer is, where those who are conquering through the power of Jesus Christ, that is characteristic of those who through the power of God's spirit and through the power of God's grace are coming to an ever increasing ongoing life of obedience to the word of God. Obedience to the word of God. Now listen, let's turn to Luke. I want to show you the words of Jesus. Listen to the words of Jesus here. Luke chapter 11. No, I don't think that's it. I'm looking for the woe unto you that are rich. I thought it was in Luke chapter 11. But I don't see it there. No. Well anyway, it's in the Beatitudes in the book of Luke where Jesus is speaking. And he talks about the rich. He talks about those that are full. And Luke 6, Luke chapter 6, thank you. Right, woe unto you that are rich, for you have received your consolation, and woe unto you that are full. So you see what Jesus is saying here. He's addressing a heart issue. He's addressing a heart issue. And it's the full and the rich in heart that Jesus pronounces a woe upon. Okay, we can go back to Revelation chapter 18. Now listen carefully, all right, as we read here. We already read verses one, two, three, and four. Let's begin in verse number five. Revelation 18, for her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her the reward. And double unto her double according to her works, and the cup which she hath filled, fill to her double. Now, notice verse number seven. This is very, very important, because this indicates, this reveals to us what kind of influence this spirit of harlotry has on the world. And it also reveals to us what is happening in the church today. How much she hath glorified herself. Number one, number two, and lived deliciously. Who has another translation? Luxuriously, sumptuously, voluptuously. Now, just remember now, listen carefully to these words. Glorified herself, lived in pleasure, sumptuously, deliciously. Number three, so much torment and sorrow give her, for she hath said unto her, I sit a queen and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Does that sound a little bit like what's going on in the Laodicean church in Revelation chapter three? Thou sayest, I am rich, in need of nothing, and increased with goods, but thou knowest not, this is what Jesus said to his own church, thou knowest not that thou art wretched, blind, miserable, naked, and poor. Sounds to me like the very thing that this spirit of harlotry has said of herself is now what the Laodicean church is saying. This is the power of this spirit to seduce the church. But now listen to this. Therefore shall her plagues come, when? In one day. Something the Lord had spoken to me a number of months ago while praying about this whole situation of seemingly no hunger for the things of God. Religion, yes, but the things of God, no. The Lord said to me, Phil, it's all gonna change in one day, in one day. And as I was reading through here and meditating, I saw that here God pronounces judgment that in one day shall her plagues come, death, mourning, famine, and she shall be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord who judges her. Now watch the reaction of the world when this happens. Watch what happens when God judges this spirit that is reigning in the world today. Listen to what happens. And the kings of the earth who have committed fornication and live deliciously with her. See, so there are people now who are depending upon the provision of this harlotry spirit. They're depending upon the pleasure that this harlot gives. They're depending upon the delicacies that this harlot gives. They're depending upon the things that this harlot is giving to make them happy and joyful. And God says, when that happens, the kings of the earth who've committed fornication and live deliciously with her, shall wail her and lament for her when they shall see the smoke of her burning, standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city, for in one hour is thy judgment come. One hour is thy judgment come. And the merchants of the earth. Now who are the merchants? The merchants are mentioned in verse number three. Those who have been made rich through the abundance of her delicacies or the power of her delicacies. Those who have been thriving on all the things that this harlot spirit has been given. All the pleasures that are not born of God or not really coming from the Lord. All of the fullness, all of the richness, all of the wealth, all of the sense of satisfaction, all of the things that made her say, I am a queen, I am not a widow, I shall not mourn, I shall not acknowledge my need, I shall not acknowledge my dependence upon a God, I'm gonna be content, I am in control, I've got everything I need. God says in one hour, one hour, those who are saying these kind of things and living this kind of life are gonna weep and wail and come before God and cry out, help God, help. It's gonna happen, beloved. This is the word of God. God is going to judge, but in the midst of judgment, those who are his who have become deceived and who have gotten sleepy and have been seduced and bewitched by the world that we live in and have slowly drifted from God and have begun in a sense to be like this harlot. The same self-sufficiency, the same confidence in everything but God, she is gonna have the carpet pulled out from her. She's gonna come back to the Lord and that is the day when God said, you're not gonna have enough room to contain it. People are gonna come flocking to the house of God, to those that know God, to those who have come out, to those who have allowed God to work in them, a passion for heavenly things. You can write it down, beloved. God's word will be fulfilled. God is going to smite this spirit of harlotry that is seducing this country and every Christian is gonna be affected by it. And those who have not heard the warning and have said, I'm gonna do my own thing, I don't wanna hear that kind of stuff, they're the ones that are gonna weep and wail, but God's not gonna forsake them. There's gonna be a Joseph, there's gonna be a provision, there's gonna be bread in the famine, there's gonna be a land of Goshen for God's people, and the Lord's not gonna forsake them. So, the kings of the earth will weep, standing afar off, verse number 10. Verse 11, and the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her, for no man buyeth their merchandise anymore. Oh my God, if these words, if God can quicken this stuff. Jesus said, buy of me gold tried in the fire. You better be spending your time, beloved, buying from the Lord Jesus those qualities that come from him. Now, of course, when he said, buy of me gold, he wasn't talking about money. He was talking about, come to him that you might become a possessor of what he has in himself. The gold, that's the divine nature. You see, there's gonna come a day when the buying and selling going on in the church is gonna come to an end. It's not gonna happen anymore. And all of the things we've filled ourself with the earthly things that we've been buying and selling with are suddenly not gonna be available and we're gonna be faced with this great desperation in our life. And that's when God says, that's gonna be my day. That's gonna be the day of God's joy when his people come back to him. This gets me so excited because it is so real in my spirit. God has really spoken these things into my spirit and has said, you preach it. It doesn't matter who listens, you preach it. It's the word, this is what's gonna happen. Don't expect people to get excited about this stuff because this doesn't appeal to the natural man. This is not what the majority of Christians wanna hear. They wanna live in their world of joy and pleasure and they want it to stay like that, but it's not gonna stay like that. So verse number 11 and 12 and 13 talks about all of the merchandise that they were purchasing. Now listen to verse 14. And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee. And all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee and thou shalt find them no more. The merchants of these things which were made rich by her shall stand afar off for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing and saying, alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet. Do you know, if you read Revelation chapter 17, the harlot had on fine linen and scarlet and guess what the beast was arrayed in? Scarlet. You know what that means? That means that the same life that was in the beast was in the harlot. The harlot rides on the beast. That's a metaphor, that's symbolic language meaning the beast gathers up all the powers of hell. It represents all that hell is. The harlot represents a system, a worldly system, and a spirit that is one with the beast. It's one, it's the same nature on the inside. The same nature on the inside. And so, God is gonna bring a great divorce from these things in his church. Again, verse 16, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, for in one hour so great riches is come to naught. And every ship master and all the company and ships and sailors and as many as trade by the sea stood afar off and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, what city is like unto this great city? And they all cast dust on their heads and cried, weeping and wailing, alas, alas, that great city wherein we were made all, we were made rich, all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness, for in one hour is she made desolate. Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets, for God hath avenged you of her. So, there's a rejoicing going on in the heavens. And God says, apostles and prophets and you who dwell in the heavens, rejoice. This is exactly, beloved, what God is going to do. In this country, this is what he's doing now. And so we can't be surprised or amazed at the shaking that we feel going on in our lives. And God's end here is found in Ephesians chapter four. Turn your Bible to Ephesians chapter four. What is God after? Why is he going to do this? Why is he shaking everything? Okay. Ephesians chapter four, verse number 11. And he gave some apostles and some prophets and some evangelists and some pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. That we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the slight of men and the cunning craftiness whereby they lay in wait to deceive, but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. That's what God is after. A body maturing, growing in the things of God. And what's preventing that from happening right now, beloved, is a spirit of harlotry. I sit as a queen. I have no need. I'm gonna run my own life. And unfortunately, that's not what the world is saying now. That's what the church is saying. I'm gonna run my own life. I'm gonna do my own thing. As long as our religion looks good, as long as people come and it looks good, that's all I care about. So, remembering the words in Hebrews, chapter 12, God's gonna shake everything that can be shaken. I have a lot more, but I'm not gonna preach it. I'm gonna wait. We're just gonna keep praying and letting these things grow in our spirits. Eventually, by God's help, I wanna go through most of the book of Revelation and share the things that the Lord is teaching me. And I tell you, beloved, it'll wake us up. It'll really stir our hearts to be zealous, to walk before the Lord in purity, and to not allow anything to seduce our hearts from the Lord Jesus Christ. So, my question to you in closing, as we'll prepare for communion and then we'll just spend some time. Maybe if we want, we can possibly just spend some time. Maybe someone has something they wanna share. Is the Lord saying the same thing to you? Maybe you have a question. And we can maybe just have a time where we can talk about this. Because this is a very, very serious issue. But before we do that, though, my question to you is this. Are you prepared for the shaking that's coming? Maybe you're already experiencing it. Are you prepared? You say, well, how do I get prepared? The way you get prepared is you call on the name of the Lord and ask Him to be your refuge. Ask Him to be your fortress. Ask Him to be your life. Ask Him to be your all in all. Let's pray. Father, we thank you for the word.
