The Harlot Babylon: The One-World Religion (With Korean Translation)
Mike Bickle

Mike Bickle (1955 - ). American evangelical pastor, author, and founder of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), born in Kansas City, Missouri. Converted at 15 after hearing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach at a 1970 Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference, he pastored several St. Louis churches before founding Kansas City Fellowship in 1982, later Metro Christian Fellowship. In 1999, he launched IHOPKC, pioneering 24/7 prayer and worship, growing to 2,500 staff and including a Bible college until its closure in 2024. Bickle authored books like Passion for Jesus (1994), emphasizing intimacy with God, eschatology, and Israel’s spiritual role. Associated with the Kansas City Prophets in the 1980s, he briefly aligned with John Wimber’s Vineyard movement until 1996. Married to Diane since 1973, they have two sons. His teachings, broadcast globally, focused on prayer and prophecy but faced criticism for controversial prophetic claims. In 2023, Bickle was dismissed from IHOPKC following allegations of misconduct, leading to his withdrawal from public ministry. His influence persists through archived sermons despite ongoing debates about his legacy

Sermon Summary
Mike Bickle discusses the prophetic significance of the Harlot Babylon as a symbol of the coming one-world religion, emphasizing the dangers of deception that will lead many believers away from the true faith. He highlights the seductive nature of this false religion, which will unify various faiths under a guise of tolerance and prosperity, while ultimately leading to persecution of true Christians. Bickle warns that this harlot religion will appear attractive and powerful, but it is rooted in demonic influence and will ultimately fail. He calls for the church to be vigilant and prepared to expose this deception, as it poses a grave threat to the faith of many. The sermon encourages believers to understand the implications of Revelation 17 and 18 to safeguard their faith and the faith of others.

When I first saw Ayyab, I thought it was a very charismatic place. But as I listened to the message through the intro, I was so surprised that there was such a deep message. So I thought I should stay here for at least a year during the three-month process, but after a year, I thought that I should stay for about three years so that this message could completely change me. I can say that I can experience a very deep message. So what I can introduce to you is the three-month process, and then there is the three-month process. The first three-month process is a basic process, and the intro process is a process to create Ayyab's steps. That's why all the key messages of Ayyab are in it. So, for example, the story of the baby, the house of prayer, the half-and-full, the intimacy, the meditation, the justice movement of God, the prophecy and healing, the Israel mandate, the leadership, and the tips that will help you in the prayer room. You will learn all the various messages in three months. And then you can go back to your local church and do the pilgrimage in each local church for three months. And for the rest of the three months, if you think that you need to receive God's message more here, if you think that you need to receive God's message more in yourself, you can do the three-month practice process, and after six months, you will be given the qualification to become a step. So, if there are four benefits that can help you while doing the intro, I think I can tell you this. First, you can receive the core spirituality of the 24-hour prayer room. Second, as I said before, you can receive the deep message of the Bible. And third, there is a community of clergymen and Ayyab who are living an imaginative life. We have 13-year-olds, 11-year-olds, and 2-year-olds. We moved here when our children were in puberty and we were trying to avoid trouble. When our children were in LA, they would see the famous signs like, what do my friends have? I have this, too. I want to buy it, too. They would come here and see the changes, and they would think, this is the life of a clergyman. I was very touched by the changes of the children. Let me tell you about the children of one of the clergymen. He was very into video games, but he came here and memorized all the Revelation. This is how much the children have changed. And the fourth benefit is that through the intro, you can gain a lot of experience in prophecy, healing, and ministry. I think that's a big benefit. Lastly, if you spend 6 months in the IAAP intro course, you will be recognized as a credit at the IAAP University. If you finish the course and transfer to IAAP, you will be recognized as a credit. If you want to learn more about the IAAP intro course and get more information, we have the materials ready. If you want, raise your hand, and we will give you the materials. As I told you, I think it's a good intro that you can introduce to others. Thank you. Please raise your hand. This is Mr. Sanseong, who is still in charge of advertising, and this is Mr. Rogatka. They are married. We have a golden hour. We have an opportunity to sow seeds in the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Don't feel pressured. That's not what we want. But I want to tell you a very short story that I believe is relevant to the future of the prayer ministry in Asia. In 1983, 28 years ago, a man with a strong prophetic gift came into my office. His name is Bob Jones. I think he's 82 years old now. I was a young pastor, 27 years old. I had a small 500-member young adult church. Our church was only about six months old, and this man knocked on my door and said, I have a word from the Lord for you. I was not very impressed or very excited, but because he was 30 years older than me, I just respected him, and I said, I'll give you a few minutes. He said, I saw an open vision for your future ministry. He said, you're going to lead a youth movement with young singers and musicians. And this youth movement of singers and musicians, they're going to touch people all around the world. I did not believe this. I did not want this. He said, number two, you're going to pray for the nation of Israel. That did not make any sense to me. He said, number three, the Lord is going to move you to Grandview, Missouri, which is where we are right now. And he gave the reason why, and it's a very important reason, but I won't go into that. But I did not like that prophecy 28 years ago. Because my young adult church was in the wealthiest part of Kansas City. And he said, you're going to move to one of the lower economic areas of the city. And I said, my people in my church, they don't really shop over in Grandview. I don't think this is going to happen. And then he told me the strangest thing. He said, I saw people over in Asia. This is 28 years ago. He said, they had television sets in their hand. Of course, now we know it's smart phones. He said, and these television sets are unplugged, and they're out in the fields working. And they're watching the singers and musicians in Grandview lead in prayer. And he said, the part of the world you will be most connected to will be these people in Asia. So then he asked me, are you a singer and a musician? Because you're going to lead so many of them. I said, no, I'm not a singer and musician. That surprised him. He said, do you ever pray for Israel? I said, no, never. He said, do you have a burden for Asia? I said, no, not at all. He said, do you know you're going to Grandview to this economically depressed area instead of this wealthy part that you're in right now? I said, no, I don't think that's right either. So the four things he told me, as far as I was concerned, they were all wrong. And I thought, it is really time for this old man to leave my office. He was only 55. That's how old I am now. That's not so old now. He said, you know nothing about what I'm telling you, do you? You don't know about the singers and musicians that are coming in the years to come? You know nothing about the connection with Asia? I told him, no, about every one of his questions. He said, the Lord told me you would be spiritually dull. I did not think you would be this dull. I said, I don't think they have television sets in their hands that are unplugged out in the fields. I don't think this is right. Well, it's 28 years later. We have singers and musicians. We relocated to Grandview. But not because he said it, it's because of other reasons, but he was right. And we have many people in Asia with an unplugged television set in their hand watching the singers and musicians. And we pray for Israel. He was totally right. And so, we have known for these many years that we would have a special connection to Asia. Now, the year before I had been to Prayer Mountain in Seoul. So I was excited about the prayer in Korea, but I didn't know any Koreans. I was deeply inspired at Prayer Mountain to build a prayer ministry when I came to Kansas City. And so, some of my spiritual roots I linked to that visit in 1982 to Prayer Mountain. But I didn't know about the singers and musicians and all of this. And intimacy with God, this was not on my mind at all. But the Lord is raising up the strongest prayer ministry in the earth out of Asia. It will be far stronger than the prayer ministries in America. It already is, but it's going to be even stronger than it is now. So we have had a deep commitment to serve the purpose of God in the prayer movement in Asia. Now, the face of IHOP is turning Asian in the last two to three years. Three years ago, maybe we didn't know that we had five Asians on our staff. I don't know. And maybe we had five Asian visitors sitting in the chairs from around the world. Today, many times, half of the prayer room is Asian. And people that have not visited IHOP for a couple of years, they said, what has happened? This looks like Asia. And we had Bob Jones. Bob Jones, this prophetic man, lives on the East Coast. So he made a video and he talked to us on the screen. Our whole staff was here. He said, I told you they'd have those TV sets in Asia. He said, not one of you believed me, but I told you it was going to happen. And everybody cheered. But we have not just a deep connection, not only do we have inspiration from Seoul, Korea, to this prayer ministry here, we have been deeply inspired by the prayer ministry of the Prayer Mountains, actually. But it's more than that. We have a deep commitment to invest in young Asians so they go back and start prayer ministries on their college campuses. I love the body of Christ and the whole world, not just what's happening in Kansas City. I love what's happening in Kansas City, but my heart is committed to the whole kingdom of God, not just Kansas City. The most effective thing I can do for the body of Christ worldwide, I am very clear what the most effective thing I can do. It's help young Asians build prayer ministries over in Asia. The old ones too, but my focus is the young ones. The next 10 or 20 years, I expect to see great fruit out of this commitment. And when Asia goes to the next level in the prayer ministry, it will affect the earth in a very dynamic way. I've told some of our leaders, the most strategic thing we can do is get young people over there building prayer ministries over in Asia. We want to put money in it. We want to put time. We want to send our best people. We want to pray for Asia. And those are things that we're doing. So I'm inviting you to partner with us in this commitment. Our most effective way to do it right now is through our Korean internship or our Koreans coming to the Bible school. Last year, we had 5,000 inquiries of internationals to join our Bible school. But the U.S. government said you cannot bring internationals over. We did not have the M-1 status. We did not have M-1. So we turned down 5,000. But last summer, the government gave us the status so the internationals can now come. The vast majority of these 5,000 are from Asia. More specifically, Koreans number one and Chinese number two. And our most effective way to sow into Korea and all of China is our internships and our Bible school. I see in my mind's eye young prayer ministries all over Korea singing and worshiping and crying and singing love songs to God. I mean thousands of them. Not just the big mountains, but I mean all over the campuses all over the nation. In North Korea as well. And then I see China being provoked to jealousy in a godly way to do the same thing. I have noticed something. When the Koreans do something extravagant, the Chinese are provoked to do it as well. But this is a good provoking. But I've noticed this over the years. And I'm a German, so I don't have any investment in my terms of background. We've got to get the Germans going. We've got to stir the Germans up somehow. So you've got to help me with that. I love Germany. Germany needs help. That's another subject for another day. But I want to invite you to sow into this. We will use 100% of this offering to build the Korean department so that we can train young people and establish prayer ministries back home that's under the churches back home. We want to get two or three full-time Korean worship teams right here. So that we can web stream live worship teams anywhere in Korea we want but saying in Korean. So when the young people don't have a worship team, we can have a live worship team until they get one. My father fought in the Korean War in 1951 and 1952. He went over to South Korea. When I was a boy, he told me the stories of how important this was. So I grew up even hearing stories of the importance of South Korea. And then my prayer ministry was inspired by South Korea. Now the Koreans have TV sets in their hands that are unplugged. So I feel a deep, long-term commitment to the church in Korea and I want you to help us if that moves your heart to be a part of this. I want to have the ushers come forward. Jake is the leader of our Korean program. Jake came to the Bible school 20 years ago before IHOP started. I was the leader of a Bible school in the 1980s and 1990s and Jake came as a 20-year-old and was one of our students. And when all of these students went home on the holiday, Jake would stay in Kansas City instead of going home to Seattle. And so I would bring Jake to my family gatherings at Christmas and Thanksgiving. So my whole family has known Jake for 20 years. So then a few years later, he comes back. I told people, you came back home. But when he did that, I knew it was from the Lord that we could bring our Korean department to a whole other level now. I've known him 20 years. I have great confidence in his spiritual leadership. Because he's a man, I want a second opinion. No, because he's a man that leads by living a life of prayer. And he's very handsome. And he's very embarrassed. And he's not telling the truth right now, I can tell. Give instructions on how they can give and then we will have a worship song and we'll come back to it. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Give instructions on how they can give and then we will have a worship song Give instructions on how they can give and then we will have a worship song Give instructions on how they can give and then we will have a worship song Give instructions on how they can give and then we will have a worship song Give instructions on how they can give and then we will have a worship song Give instructions on how they can give and then we will have a worship song Thank you very much Turn to chapter 7, Page 125 Father, we thank you for the word of God. I thank you for the sowing of finance into your kingdom. And we consecrate that money unto your glory and unto your use. And I ask you to multiply the seed that was sown that the finances would increase. So I speak your blessing of multiplication on money that's sown for righteousness sake. In Jesus name, Amen. Well, this is our seventh session. There's a total of 14 teachings in this series. Plus three additional question and answer times. In this session, we're going to look at the Harlot Babylon from Revelation chapter 17. This speaks of the coming one world religion. Paragraph A. Paul emphasized the falling away from the faith at the end of the age. This theme will be a great challenge to the end time church. In verse 1, Paul said the Spirit explicitly says this. He drew attention to how zealous the Holy Spirit was about this prophecy. That in the latter times, or in the end times, there will be a falling away from the faith. There will be believers that will be paying attention to doctrines of demons. This is a very significant burden that was on Paul's heart for the generation the Lord returns. And it's something that the praying church must take very, very seriously. Paragraph B. Paul says the same thing in another place. He gave two of the most significant signs of the generation the Lord returns. There are many signs that point to the coming of the Lord, but these were two that Paul emphasized. In verse 3, let no one deceive you by any means whatsoever. Because the day, or the coming of Jesus, it will not come until the falling away comes first. And this falling away is associated with the harlot Babylon one world religion. This is one of the great doctrines of demons that will come in the final generation. The two great doctrines of demons will be the harlot Babylon and the Antichrist. Because many who profess belief in Jesus will be deceived and they will join those two different religious movements. So I feel sober that something very serious in terms of deception is coming to the church before the Lord returns. So I want understanding from the Bible into God's plan and to Satan's plan in that great hour when he deceives so many. Page 126. Paragraph A. Revelation 17 and 18 is one of the most significant end time prophecies. It gives us insight into one of the primary doctrines of demons that is going to be released in the end times. It gives us insight into Satan's strategy to seduce the nations and to deceive the church so that many will fall away and renounce Jesus. In chapter 17 verse 1, John told us the vision that he had. He said, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters. He goes on in verse 15 and says the many waters are the many nations of the earth. He described a harlot or religion or a false religion that it would seduce and control some of the most powerful leaders in the earth. It will be very convincing and the kings and the rich men of the earth, many of them will be seduced by these religious ideas. Paragraph C. The harlot is described as sitting on the nations. That describes her controlling and oppressive position against the nations. She will do this by organizing two worldwide networks. Number one, it will be a religious global network. It will be a religion that is very tolerant. It accepts everything. It will unify many backslidden Christians with moderate Muslims with secular Jews and all the other major religions of the world. And this religious network will say every religion is right. Every religion leads to the same God. It will say everybody is good. Nobody is a sinner. There is no judgment. Everything is wonderful. But it will be more than a religious network. Number two, it will be an economic network. Not only will this global network deceive, but it will also attack and kill Christians. In paragraph D, John said, I saw this harlot, this false religion. She was drunk with the blood of the saints. This is a very terrifying description of this world religion. She will be drunk or she will be intoxicated in killing the saints. She will be against the true believers more than anyone else in the world. Why? Because the true church will expose her as demonic and she will attack them for doing this. Many of us will have friends and family members and people in the workplace who join this religion. And they will be so excited. World unity. Economic prosperity. Everyone is in agreement. We will say it's a demon and it's from the devil. And they will say, what do you Christians want? Finally we have unity, finally we have peace, finally we have prosperity and all you say it's of the devil. What do you Christians want? Finally we have unity, finally we have peace, finally we have prosperity and all you say it's of the devil. Page 127. Paragraph F. Surprisingly, the ten kings that are closest to the Antichrist, they will become jealous and enraged by this powerful world religion. And they will burn her with fire and they will destroy her. Now this was very surprising to John when he saw this vision. He's the only person in the Bible who reveals this piece of information. We would think the Antichrist would be very delighted with this false religion. And we would think that the ten kings that are closest to him, his main leaders, would be very excited too. And for a short period of time of several years, they use her and they promote her. But then suddenly they turn on her and they destroy her. And I give some explanation as to why, but I don't want to spend time on that right now. So you can read that on your own. Paragraph G. What the Antichrist wants to do is use this false religion to draw many people out of their traditional religion that they grew up in their family heritage. He gets them to renounce the religion they grew up with to join this world religion. So in doing that, they burn the bridge, so to speak, so they never go back to their former faith. And then the Antichrist destroys that religion and says, Now I demand that you all worship me as God, not a tolerant world religion. Because the Antichrist religion will be very strict and will not be tolerant at all. So the devil deceives the religious people of the earth. He gets them to renounce the religion they grew up with to join the worldwide religion of tolerance. And he says, Now that I have you, I'll destroy that religion and now make you join the Antichrist religion that has no tolerance. Now you are my slave. Page 128, Roman numeral 3, paragraph A, Revelation 17 and 18 is one of the most important end time prophecies. For two reasons. If people are deceived by this harlot religion, they will end up in the lake of fire. And there will be many people who profess Jesus, they will join this religion thinking it is even better than Christianity. And then secondly, it's so important, because those who resist this religion, true believers, and they expose this religion as demonic, some of them will be put to death. So we have to be very clear about Revelation 17 and 18, what exactly it's saying. If a Christian is deceived by it, they end up in the lake of fire. If a Christian stands against it, they may be put to death. And if they don't follow it, they may be put to death. So we have to look at it very carefully. This prophecy revealed in Revelation 17 and 18 is worth the effort to understand these two chapters. Many godly Christians, they know nothing about this strategy of Satan. And though they will not be deceived by it, they're not helping and warning and exposing it ahead of time to other people. Paragraph B, the main message of Revelation 17 is very straightforward and easy to understand. The main message is this world religion and this world economic network will look very beautiful and filled with splendor, but it's false. The second message in this chapter, this religion will fail and God will bring it down and destroy it. And the third message in this chapter is that this deception is very, very dangerous. Because people will get killed by exposing it and they'll go to the lake of fire by being deceived by it. Paragraph C, it is the longest prophecy in the New Testament. It is the longest prophecy in the Old Testament. This theme is the longest prophecy in the Old Testament. The prophet Jeremiah spent two chapters talking about Babylon. And John the Apostle spent two chapters talking on Babylon. The two longest prophecies in the Bible, why did God put so much importance on this theme? He wants the church to understand its significance and its great danger. He wants us to understand it. He wants us to train the young people and to get them to train the young people after them. This harlot religion is the counterfeit to the end-time bride of Christ. At the end of the age, there's a harlot religion and there's the bride. At the end of the age, there's the city of Jerusalem and the city of Babylon. At the end of the age, there's two houses of prayer, an Antichrist house of prayer and a Jesus house of prayer. As simple as those ideas are, many believers have no thought of these things. They love Jesus, but they've never even spent one hour on this subject in their whole Christian life. The prophecy that has the most information in the Old Testament and the most in the New Testament, most of the body of Christ is illiterate and no knowledge of it. And though they may not be deceived by it, they will not be equipped to help other people avoid the deception. Page 129, Roman numeral 4, paragraph 8. Before the angel shows John the beauty, the false beauty of this world religion, first, he assures John, this false religion will fail. It will be destroyed. Do not worry. And as people are seduced by how glorious and rich and unified it is, we can tell them boldly, It will fail, and it will fail very soon. Do not join it. Verse 1, the angel says, John, I will show you the total defeat of this religion. Of course, I'm summarizing the passage, because you've got the verse right in front of you, you can read it. Verse 2, the kings of the earth, the most powerful political leaders on the earth, they will be deceived and seduced by this religion. And the inhabitants of the earth, hundreds of millions, maybe billions, they will be drunk by the ideas that this religion presents. Paragraph B, that the inhabitants of the earth will be drunk by what this religion offers the nations. She will be deeply involved in humanitarian aid, helping the poor. She will bring unity among many world religions, because religion is the cause of many wars. And she will be responsible, or she will contribute to a prosperous world economy. And she will assure the nations that there is no sin, and everything they want to do, they can do, and still be saved and be right with God. So John described the nations as drunk with excitement and intoxicated by what she presents. The people will be talking, hey, if you heard about the new religion, it's awesome, everyone is unified, and everybody is right, and nobody is judged. And it must be the blessing of God, she has so much money, so much unity, all the kings of the earth like her, this is great news. The nations will be drunk. Page 130, paragraph D, the harlot will deceive the nations by sorcery. She will operate in supernatural power that will make people excited. People are excited by the supernatural, and they don't have discernment many times as to the source of the power. People will get healed in their meetings. People will have angelic visitations, but the angels will really be demons. And there will be a great feeling of power involved in this religion. Paragraph E, this religion will have great prominence and influence and power in the nations. This harlot religion was arrayed or dressed in purple and scarlet. That speaks of her royal status, she will be respected by the elite leaders of the earth. Some of the most powerful leaders of the earth will say, this is an awesome religion, I joined it myself. There is no world religion that is endorsed by the majority of the leaders of the earth, the same religion, but this one will be. It will be endorsed by the most powerful people in the earth. But more than that, she will be adorned with gold, she will have great wealth. But more than that, she will have a golden cup in her hand. Paragraph G, and with this golden cup, she will present herself as serving the needs of the nations of the earth, especially the poor. And she will be applauded all over the world, she's using her great wealth to help the human race. Her leaders will win many humanitarian awards. Her cup of serving to the nations will appear to be golden, it will appear to be beautiful and good and godly. But the angel tells John, her service will look like a golden cup, but it is a lie. When you pull the curtain back and see her true motives and her true character, you will be surprised. This religion will be full of abomination, it will have demonic influence and demonic activity all through it. Paragraph H, and this religion will be filthy, it will have moral perversion all through the leadership and all through the ranks of this religion. So it will be arrayed in purple, it will have the status of royalty before the nations. It will be adorned with gold, the wealthiest religion ever in world history. She will have a golden cup of service, she will use her wealth to help the nations. But nothing that appears is what, I'll say it different, but it's not the truth about who she really is. She will be full of abominations, that's demons, and she will be full of filth, that's moral perversion, sexual perversion. But many believers will be seduced and deceived and they will join it in the early stages because it will look so powerful. I can just imagine the dialogues right now, the conversations. I can imagine a man saying, we've been praying for unity, now the religions of the world are going to be unified, that's God's answer. And nobody is judging anybody, everybody accepts everybody, love is abounding in this great religion. And it has the favor of God, such great wealth, it must be God blessing it. And the kings of the earth and hundreds of millions or billions of people are all joining it, it's the favor of God, look how big it is. But the praying church will say, no, she's full of abominations, she's full of filth and she's filled with demons. And this will make this religion very mad at the praying church. Page 131, Daniel 8.23, God is going to allow sin to reach its very fullness in the end times on a global level. God is not going to make it happen, but he's going to draw his hand back and he's going to let the human race have what they want for a short season. The angel spoke to Daniel in Daniel chapter 8, verse 23, he said that in the end times, when sin has reached its fullness, a king will arise, he was talking about the Antichrist in context. In the end times, when the Antichrist comes on the world scene, sin will reach its fullness on the global level. And the harlot Babylon is one of the primary contexts in which the nations will go to the greatest heights of sin in history. And the harlot Babylon will help the nations reach the fullness of sin on this earth. Page 132, Revelation 17, verse 5. The angel spoke another truth to John that surprised him. He saw the name of this harlot religion. And it was a mystery to John, it surprised John. The name of this religion is Babylon the Great. This was very surprising to him. Because by giving the name of this world religion, paragraph B, the angel linked this religion to its origin back at the Tower of Babel. When the angel told John, I'll tell you a mystery, I'll tell you a secret. This is the religion that started at the Tower of Babel way back in Genesis chapter 11. It's the same religion. Because the city of Babylon was birthed from the Tower of Babel situation. In Genesis 11, we have the story of the Tower of Babel and this is important to understanding this Babylon religion. The city of Babel was the first organized religion in human history. And it became the first organized rebellion against God. Paragraph C, the residents of the city wanted to build a tower whose top was in the heaven. Look at verse 4, the people of the city said to one another, Let's build a tower whose top is in the heaven. And let us make a name for ourselves. Let's exalt the human pride. And let us make sure that we're never scattered from here. Let's stick together to the end. Genesis 11 is very important to understand this Babylon religion. The key phrase is they wanted to build a tower whose top is in the heavens. What does it mean, its top is in the heavens? It's talking about a religion that would enter into the heavenly realm, the demonic realm, the spirit realm is what they're talking about. If you read this story quickly, you get the wrong idea. God was not concerned because they built a 5 story or 10 story building with mud bricks. That's not what was troubling. God wasn't saying you build a 10 story building with mud bricks, maybe you will build a 20 story building. This is terrible. That is not what's being said here. Paragraph D, God told the nations to multiply and spread out across the earth. But they said, we are not going to multiply, we are going to cluster together and make a name about our own fame and pride together. In Genesis 1, God said, spread out and bring my name to the ends of the earth and exercise dominion. In Genesis 1, God said, spread out and bring my name to the ends of the earth and exercise dominion. But the key to the heavenly realm is not the positive heavenly realm, but it's the spirit realm of the dark side. That is what was on their mind. Page 133, in Genesis 11, verse 6, the Lord said, indeed, these people are one, they are unified. And all that they have, and they all have one language. And this is what they begin to do. And what they began to do was to disobey the command to spread out and bring the name of God, but to stay together and build their own name and reach into the spirit realm together. When the Lord said, this is what they began to do, stay together, be unified, and press into the realms of the heavenly realms together, and see how far they could go in sin. God says, nothing that they purpose to do will be withheld from them. The other translation says, nothing that they plan to do will be impossible to them. Paragraph F, God was not referring to their architectural abilities that threatened Him. That is not what the conversation is about. God did not intervene because they built a 10 story building, and maybe one day it would be 20 stories, so He judged them. That is not what happened. It wasn't their progression in architecture that concerned God, it was their progression in sin that they would experience if they stayed together. Because they were in rebellion against God, and they shared all their experience together, and there was a synergism in their pursuit of escalating sin. Paragraph G, God scattered their language to slow down the escalation of their sin and experience of the demonic realm. Let's go to page 134. Let's go down to paragraph C. What God did not want them to do in Genesis 11 was repeat what happened in Genesis 6. In Genesis 6, the people of the earth had a deep interaction with demonic spirits. And the earth was filled with violence and murder in a very dramatic, intense way. It was so bad in Genesis 6 that God sent the flood in Genesis 7 to wipe them out and start over again. Because in Genesis 6, they were interacting in the demonic realm, and they were filling the earth with perversion and violence in a very serious way. Page 135. Paragraph E. In Genesis 6, the demonic and the violence and the murder and the perversion were in the days of Noah. In Matthew 24, verse 37, Jesus said the end times will be just like the days of Noah back in Genesis 6. And there's many ways in which the generation of the Lord returns will be like the days of Noah. But in Genesis 11, at the Tower of Babel, they were wanting to go back and get involved in sin like it was in the days of Noah before the flood. Paragraph F. Daniel points out two things by the spirit of prophecy that will reverse the dynamics of the Tower of Babel. Because what the judgment of God on Babel was He scattered the people, so He scattered the human resource and the knowledge and the experience that they had. Paragraph F. He scattered them so they could not stay together in their false religion and go to the heights of sin ahead of time. And Daniel spoke about two things that will change the world in the end times. Travel and knowledge. He said in the end times, people will run to and fro. That's a reference to a very dynamic increase of travel. They could go across the nations easily. And in the last 50 years, we've seen the ability of people in one nation to be able to be in another nation within hours. And there's a lot of good that happens because of the ability of travel in the modern world. But there's a very bad thing that happens because wicked men can get together and expand their sinful ideas together in a much faster way. But there's another thing that happens that's equally significant as travel. That's the increase of knowledge. Page 136. That through technology, knowledge and the ability to communicate is so dynamic we all understand it. But by this modern travel and the modern technology and knowledge, the scattering of the languages in the Tower of Babel has been reversed and everybody can speak the same language through technology now. That through technology, the nations of the earth are brought back together like they were at the Tower of Babel. Now that's a real good thing when it's used by godly people. Jesus is Lord of the Internet. So I love the technology. But the technology has dynamically increased the development of sin on the planet. The leaders in moral perversion and the leaders in occult and other evil, they can all get together through technology and they can share their experiences and terrible things grow very fast. What I'm saying is the Tower of Babel situation is coming to pass again on the global level in the heart of Babylon. And through modern travel and modern technology and sharing of knowledge, the wicked of the earth are brought together again like at Babel and they have a language they can communicate with and organize and share their evil ideas with. And what was true of Babel will now be true of the harlot Babylon religion. Nothing that they planned to do will be impossible in the realm of sin. This religion will bring the nations to a maturity in sin beyond any time in history. And these are some of the ideas that John saw in this vision. I'm going to end with that. I just gave you just a few general ideas. There's so much more on the subject. But I want you to determine in your heart you are going to understand Revelation 17 and 18. This mystery was given to the church so we could understand it and make it known to prepare the nations of the earth. And I only gave you just a few ideas. There's much, much more in this chapter. Amen. Let's stand. We're going to take a 10-minute break. And then we're going to have a few minutes of worship.
