Milton Green

Milton Green (1943 - 1987). American evangelist and Bible teacher born in Tennessee. Raised in a troubled home with an abusive father, he spiraled into alcoholism, drug addiction, and homelessness, suffering a major heart attack at 43 that left doctors predicting his death. Converted in 1972 after crying out to Jesus, he was miraculously healed and began studying Scripture intensely. A carpet cleaner by trade, Green preached across the U.S. from the late 1970s to 1987, often alongside James Robison and Leonard Ravenhill, focusing on repentance, holiness, and spiritual warfare. He authored The Great Falling Away Today (1986), warning against carnal Christianity, and recorded hundreds of sermons, widely shared online. Married to Joyce, a Christian who prayed for his salvation, they had no children. His teachings, emphasizing victory over sin through Christ, stirred thousands at seminars, though some criticized his focus on demonic influence. Green’s words, “God’s Word is the only standard for truth,” underscored his uncompromising style. His ministry, marked by humility, continues to influence evangelical circles globally

Sermon Summary
In this sermon, the speaker emphasizes the importance of following the Word of God rather than adhering to old traditions or wrong teachings. The message is based on Leviticus 26, where the Lord brings a case against the inhabitants of the land for their lack of faithfulness, kindness, and knowledge of God. The speaker highlights the sinful behaviors prevalent in society, such as swearing, deception, murder, stealing, adultery, and violence. The land is described as mourning due to these actions, and the speaker urges the audience not to indulge in such behaviors but to instead seek godliness and avoid filling themselves with negative influences like television.
Sermon Transcription
When anyone receives revelation in the Word of God, it sometimes conflicts with what he has previously been taught. This causes you to have to deal with old traditions or wrong teaching. These tapes may contain some new light from God's Word, and it may be opposed to some traditions you have previously learned. Therefore, follow through these messages in your Bible, in sequence, in order that you may be able to make a choice for the Word of God rather than the traditions of men. This is tape number five in a series. We urge you to listen to all the tapes in the series in numerical order, so that the whole teaching can be received and understood. Listening to a part of this series or to the tapes out of sequence can lead to a misunderstanding of the nature, the intent, and the importance of this series. I just thank you for each one here and has come to hear you, to see you, Jesus, and hear your Word. Now, we just boast in your presence and you being here, Lord, and we just come to receive the Word. And, Lord, I just pray that you just quicken this Word to each one here. I pray, God, that you change the hearts and renew their minds and lead them into all truths. And I pray that your healing and deliverance will just prevail here tonight. Praise in our hearts and in our mouth. And, Lord, you're just so worthy to be praised, and you're so precious, and we want to thank you. Lord, I want to ask for this anointing tonight, and I just received the anointing. We received the weapons of our warfare. The finished works of Calvary. And we received the fruit of the Spirit. And, Lord, we just want to minister and just receive your love. We just reach up to the throne right now and receive your love and peace and grace and fruit right now in the name of Jesus. And thank you, Lord, for the peace and grace and love that's ours in Jesus' name. Praise the Lord. Well, amen. Turn to Hosea 2. How are you? How'd you rather me tell my stories tonight? Don't want to hear my stories? Turn to Hosea 2. Hosea 2. Now, you know where we're going to be dealing with the last days this week. Now, folks, many of you were not here this morning. And I don't think... the ones of you here, I think, would agree with me. I've not heard a stronger overcoming in my life than what I heard this morning. Is that a truth? Now, folks, see, we've been hearing about holiness, we hear about righteousness, and we hear about love and everything. But I'll tell you what, it all got put together this morning, what you're supposed to do to do it. Isn't that right? Isn't that right? I mean it in a word, and that's strong. And if you didn't miss it, I hope you'll try to get the tape. I would love for everyone here to hear that. And, boy, it's something. Now, you have to, if you... when you're going to deal the last days, you've got to either deal with... you've got to go through Hosea some, as I have with many of you, or through Jeremiah, so you can kind of get the flow of the last days. And so this is what we're going to do briefly in Hosea. Hosea 2, 19. Hosea 2, verse 19. Now, here it is. I will betroth you to me forever. I wonder who he's talking about. See, that's the type of the Lord. Yes, I'll betroth you to me in righteousness, and in justice, in loving kindness, in compassion. I would betroth you to me in faithfulness. Then you'll know the Lord. Amen? Isn't that beautiful? That is so beautiful. In chapter 4, verse 1. Listen to the word of the Lord, O sons of Israel, for the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land. I wonder what the case is the Lord has against us. Are we supposed to be the sons of Israel? Are we the new creation, Galatians 6, he's talking about? All right. Here's the problem. There is no faithfulness, or kindness, or knowledge of God in the land. Here's what's going in the hearts and mouths of people. There is swearing, deception, murder, stealing, adultery. They employ violence or perversion so that bloodshed follows bloodshed. Do you know how you shed the blood of the righteous? Teach them formalism. Teach them traditions. Draw them away from the Word and godliness. Verse 3. Therefore the land mourns. Where's the land right here? I tell you, that land. Are we supposed to be 1 Corinthians 3, 9? We're supposed to be God's field. And see, when you get the wrong seed on this field right here, I want to tell you there's going to be mourning going on. Do you hear me? And we know that the enemy's seeds come in through our mind, and it gets in our heart if we don't resist the devil. Is that right? Okay. Therefore the land mourns and everyone who lives in it, they languish, they lack force, they're weakened. And who's there with them? The beasts of the field and the birds of the sky. Do you understand? Do you have any idea who those are? They on this right, the powers of darkness. And also the fish of the sea disappear. And here it is in this typical congregation of people, yet let no one find fault. Let none offer reproof. Now, let's not upset anyone's cursed nature. For your people are like those who contend with the priests. So you're going to stumble by day, and the prophets are all going to stumble with you by night, and I'm going to destroy your mother. Who's the mother? Church. That's the one that gives birth, the bride. All right, my people, why are they destroyed? For lack of knowledge. When you already know it all, you can't get any more, can you? My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge. I'll also reject you from being my priests. Since you've forgotten the word of the law of God, I'll also forget your children. In other words, the hedge is down. Look in verse 9. And it's going to be like people, like priests. In other words, instead of being like the teacher Jesus, they're going to be like a man, that's whoever their heart goes after, that's who he's going to be like. Like people, like priests. So I'll punish them for their ways. I'll repay them for the evil of their deeds. Let's look in chapter 10 just a moment. Chapter 10. Now, in Exodus, it talks about building an altar. Look at me just a second. And he says, when you... I think it's 20-25, or 25-20. But 20-20... Well, I'm going to tell you, I shouldn't have said... I should have said somewhere in the Bible. Exodus, I think it's 20-25. I've got another Bible, and I didn't bring my reinforcement here, and this Bible has everything in the wrong place. Verse...chapter 25. Oh, boy, I'm sure I messed that one up. Huh? Well, I looked there. I was looking in the wrong place. That's what happens when you've got a new Bible. 20-25. There it is, yeah. Just right exactly where I said it was. And if you make an altar of stone for me, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you wield your tool on it, you're going to profane it. Now, look at me, folks. The Lord was telling them, when you go to build an altar, you build it up and just put uncut stones, just pile them up. Now, he said, if you wield an iron tool on it, you're going to profane it. And so why does he say, if you wield an iron tool? Because if they start taking iron tools and start making it fancy, then the altar will get people's hearts, says the Lord. Amen? Is that right? Now, in chapter 10, I mean in verse 1, now, we're Israel. We're Israel today, aren't we? Spiritual Israel. Israel is a luxuriant vine that's empty, degenerate. He produces fruit for what? Himself. That's who his fruit is produced for. The more his fruit, the more altars he makes. The richer his land, the better he makes the sacred pillars. Makes them bigger, better, thicker. Their heart is what? Faithless. That's reading and bearing the fruit for themselves. You don't have any faith in the Word. You bear fruit for yourself. Now, they must bear their guilt. The Lord is going to break down their altars and destroy their sacred pillars, verse 3. Surely now, you know, people, look at me, folks. People who are sitting, do you believe that people are sitting in buildings and trusting that building to take them into heaven? It's going to be the vehicle that carries them into heaven. You know what God is seeing in their hearts? There's no fear of God in people like that. In other words, the building is going to be the vehicle that takes them into heaven. And God says, well, what do we need with Jesus? We've got this building here. Are you hearing what I'm saying? We've got this building that will take us into heaven. So that's what God says, and this is exactly what it says here in verse 3. Surely now, they'll say, we have no king. That's what it says in their heart. For we do not fear the Lord. As for King Jesus, what can he do for us? They speak mere words. With worthless oaths, they make covenants and judgment. There is a judgment right there with the words. Judgment sprouts like poisonous weeds in the furrows of the field. Look here where the judgment comes out. Right here is the field, and that's where judgment springs up. Now look at verse 12. Sow with a view to righteousness. Reap in accordance with kindness. Break up your fowl of ground. That's repentance, isn't it? You better start sowing your words from your heart. You better be speaking the words of the Lord, right? Amen. And for it is time to seek the Lord until He comes to rain righteousness on you. Now, in verse 13, you have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, you have beaten the fruit of lies or traditions, because what? You have trusted in your ways and in your numbers. Amen? Now let's see what the anger of the Lord... Let's see about these numbers right there. Turn with me back to 1 Chronicles 21. Look with me in verse 1. Then who stood up? Satan stood up against Israel and moved David to number Israel. Is that right? So David said to Joab, Go to the princes of the people. Go, number Israel from Bathsheba even to Dan. Bring me word that I may know their number. Verse 3. And Joab said, May the Lord add to His people a hundred times as many as they are, but my Lord the King, are they not all my Lord's servants? And not yours? Why are you letting your heart go after it? Why does my Lord seek this thing? Why should He be the cause of guilt to Israel? Now who caused David to number Israel? Satan did. Now look in verse 7, because that's where he's going to get his heart. Do you think any hearts are perverted today because of the numbers that go to numbers? Absolutely. Now look in verse 7. And God was displeased with this thing, so He struck Israel. Verse 8. And David said to the Lord God, I have sinned greatly. Look over in verse 14. So the Lord sent a pestilence on Israel, 70,000 men of Israel fell. Folks, do you realize today that they were trusting in their way and their numbers over there? Do you know that you can find a security in your heart and you can start building on the wrong foundation? See, if numbers get your heart, then you can change the Word of God so you can have numbers. Are you hearing me? See, these are the things that the powers of darkness do to people when they're not in the war. They get deceived by it. And then a man can take some of the things of God with a little charisma and everything, and he can take the things of God and draw you to his self and say, Who do you think is going to work with a man like that? Well, the powers of darkness do everything to talk to people and make them look good. He takes away and they draw it to him. What is this thing that when people... See, I've seen the power of God put people out, just grow weak. But what is this thing where somebody shows up and they pray for people and some people fall over and everything, and just like their Hollywood idol just came to town or something like that. Oh, his power. Oh, look at that. And they go away quoting this man instead of quoting the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word, and boast in the man and let your heart be drawn. Who do you think would cooperate with them? Do you think any of that goes on? Anything is a real thing of God. Satan is ready to have the counterfeit. Are you hearing me? Now, that's not to say that somebody can't be playing the Spirit. I'm not talking about that. But folks, isn't that who? And I've got to follow him because the whole world fell out. Do you think a bunch of demons can make somebody fall out? Huh? Well, surely good if you'd be a big enough idiot to follow a man. Absolutely. I'm not saying that untimely. I'm just telling you the truth. All right, now, let's see what the anger of the Lord is. We see that... Let's just see what the... Turn with me to 2 Samuel. Now, who was it that moved David to number Israel? All right, 2 Samuel. Turn back to the left a little. 2 Samuel. And then I want you to turn with me to chapter 24. And we see this same account right there. And we see 2 Samuel chapter 24. And we're going to start over on verse 1. Now, again, the what? The anger of who? Oh, the anger of the Lord burned against Israel and it what? Cited David against them and said, Go number Israel and Judah. Now, folks, who's the anger of the Lord? Satan is the anger of the Lord. Now, look at me, folks. When you don't want to choose love, you want to choose rebellion. And when you choose rebellion, the hedge is down and the anger of the Lord comes in. Who do you think created Satan? He sure did. When did God lose control of Satan? It's only going to take one angel to put him in a pit. You understand that, don't you? Folks, beware and watch your mouth if you ever boast in the power. Don't ever try to get rid of some stronghold and go around boasting how strong it is. You're going to get to keep it. Jesus, from the psalm, is stronger than anything that can come against you. Amen? All right, now. So let's just continue and turn with me back to Hosea 7. Okay? Hosea 7. Hosea 7. Hosea 7, verses 8. All right, now. It's talking about Ephraim. Israel, you know, that's a type of the people of God. Ephraim mixes himself with the world, the nations, right? Ephraim, verse 8, has become a cake not turned. Do you know what that means? It's harlotry, right? Strangers devour his strength. I wonder who those strangers are. Who has it come to devour him, weaken him? Yet he does not even know it. Gray hairs are sprinkled on him, yet he does not even know it, and he's just dying in it. Though the pride of Israel testifies against him, yet they have neither returned, that means repenting to the Lord their God, nor have they sought him for all this. They don't repent or return. So Ephraim becomes like a silly dove, they're without sense. That means foolish, a foolish heart. They call to Egypt, they go to Assyria. When they go, that's to the world, I'm going to spread my net over them. I'm going to bring them down like the birds of the sky. I'm going to chastise them in accordance with the proclamation to their assembly. What that is really saying right there that he's just going to let the heads down on them when they practice sin. In chapter 8, do you all think you're hearing a trumpet blow today, folks? Absolutely. There might be several of them blowing. Verse 1, put the trumpet to your lips, like an eagle, the enemy is coming against what? The house of the Lord. Now this is what we've been reading about, everything that we're reading right here. It's a type of the enemy coming against the house of the Lord. I mean, it's to show us today, right? Now, let me ask you something. Anyone that just gets historical revelation out of this Word is not going to see anything like that. They would violently. Because the only thing they get out of the Word is history. They don't get present and future. You understand what I mean? Okay. Now, put a trumpet to your lips like an eagle, the enemy comes against the house of the Lord. Why? Because they've transgressed my covenant, broken the covenant, and they rebel against my Word, my law. Verse 3, 2, They cried to me, My God, we of Israel, the church know thee. Israel rejected the good, you know the good is the Word, the enemy, so the enemy will pursue them, but not by me. Now do you think, folks, look at me, folks, do you believe any flesh is ruling and reigning over people across the land today in the name of God? Now that's the kings it's talking about because people's hearts just, oh, there he comes, you know. I mean, just bow their hearts to many, many things, theology, intellect, academic, bow down before it, you know, like, you know, the natural mind understands not the things that God didn't think that they have to, everything that they hear, they've got to hear through one certain man or two men or whatever like that. I'm going to tell you what happens to the body of Christ in that. See, that's to get your heart. Who do you think would try to work against you to get your heart and have you set up flesh as kings? I mean, when you've got flesh as kings, you've got idols in your heart and you have power, so darkness is destroying you. And I want to tell you something, God is tearing us down today. Okay. So, verse 4, they set up kings, but it's not the me. I didn't put these men in there. They have appointed princes or leaders, but I didn't know it. And with their hundred dollar bills, their silver and gold, they made idols for themselves that they might be what? Cut off. What does John 15 say? The branch is going to be cut off if it doesn't bear fruit? Isn't that right? Well, you're not going to bear fruit and fall a knife through your flesh. It goes ahead to say there in verse 5, He's rejected your caste. Oh, Samaria is saying, My anger burns against them. Now, what did we just see? Who the anger was? Satan. And so what is he going to do? He lowers the hedge and here comes the power of the darkness. Is that right? I mean, they've got a caste. It means an idol in their heart. Is that correct? Okay. How long will you be incapable of innocence or impurity, whatever? Look at verse 7. For they sow the wind. Now, what are we supposed to sow? We're supposed to speak as oracles of God. In other words, we speak as Jesus come down from the mountain. But when you're sowing the wind, you're just sowing words. That's the same reference they make in Ephesians 4. Don't be carried away by every wind of doctrine or every word of doctrine. See, because here's how you sow. Where do you sow at? From your mouth. So they sow the wind. It's just words. And what do they reap? They reap the whirlwind. Now, that's the anger up there of the Lord. That's the power of the darkness. The hedge is down. The standing grain has no head. It yields no fruit. In other words, they don't bear any fruit. Look, folks. When you're just receiving, when somebody's just receiving good stories and words and everything, instead of the Word of God, how is that going to produce fruit in you? How is it going to have any grain? Absolutely it's not. Now, should it yield, strangers, that's the works of darkness, are going to swallow it up. And that's exactly what you see in the parable of the Word that they come along and eat the seed. Is that right? Now in verse 8, Israel is swallowed up, just devoured right there. They're now among the world. They're worldly. They're like a vessel in which no one delights. Is that it today? For they have gone up to Assyria like a wild donkey, all of them. Ephraim has hired lovers to use the world's methods to do God's work. Now we're talking about the inmate comes against the house of the Lord. Is that right? Right? All right, let's go to chapter 14. And these are idols. Now chapter 14, verse 1. Return. That means repent. Verse 1 says, Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have what? Stumble. That means you've staggered and stumbled in spiritual darkness because of your iniquity or sin. Take your words with you. Let these words that win take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all sin. Receive us graciously. They may present what? The fruit of our lips if we repent and change. The fruit of the lips is we're going to be speaking blessings instead of curses, right? Okay. Assyria will not save us. We'll not ride on horses. Riding on horses means fall of flesh. Nor will we say, Our God to the works of our hands. Do you see that, folks? To build things. Look at me, folks. Do you understand that all across this land that man is building things and they come in and it's got their heart? They find us a false security and things like that and it gets their heart. That's how you bow. This is what the powers of darkness do. They are called in Daniel. They're the gods of wood, stone, silver, gold, brass, whatever. This is the works of darkness. You know, don't love the world, the things in the world, all that's in the world, the lust of flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boast of pride and laugh. The powers of darkness use the things in the world to draw your heart. Do you understand that people have stone and wood and it's totally got their laughs? That's the reason Jesus said don't worry about what you're going to eat or drink or wear because that's what the world out there does. But as people of God, you don't worry about things like that because your heart is not here making a reputation or looking good or building your treasures here because you're building treasures in heaven. Amen? If he's got all your heart, let's see. So this is what happens. The powers of darkness, they pervert something. They pervert it and they get people's hearts and get them drawn over to make idols out of the works of their hands. And folks, this is all. Men make doctrines and the doctrines get people's hearts. Men become kings and they just follow that and they've got their hearts. You wouldn't know the Word of God. Let me tell you something. See, take a structure and let it have somebody's heart and then come along and they hear something that does not fit in that structure and immediately they reject it. Immediately reject it. Why? They don't want to hear nothing else. This has got their hearts. Amen? Prove them to hate people they've just merely heard about. That's not the Word. That's not love. But they're not going to say our God to the works of our hands anymore. For in thee the orphan finds mercy. Now look in verse 7. Those who live in his shadow, that means the presence of God. When you get in his presence, we saw you're going to have clean hands and a pure heart in James 4, 6 through 10. Those who live in his shadow, that means they've repented right there, will again raise grain. That means you're going to bear fruit. Amen? And then they're going to blossom like the vine. Now let me ask you something. Does the blossom come before the fruit comes? Is that right? Okay. And his renown will be like the wine of Lebanon. O Ephraim, O church, O people of God, what more have I to do with idols? In other words, I want all your hearts. I don't want anything in the world, the things in the world. You can have a red car, don't let that red car have your heart. Amen? It's all right to drive a red car, but don't let that piece of steel get your heart. Amen? It's all right to live in a house. Don't let some big house get your heart. You come into a meeting house right here to worship the Lord, we're not going to let this steel and wood and stone have our heart. Amen? We're not going to... Right? Okay. What more have I to do with idols? It is I who answer and look after you. I am... Wonder who this is talking? That's the groom we was talking about a while ago, being betrothed to. It is I who answer and look after you. I am like a luxuriant cypress. Here it comes from me. I'm the one. It's from me comes your fruit. Can we tell His name? Jesus. Boy, I'll have Roland run up here real quick and sing, I'm a holy God. Isn't that good? Huh? Praise Jesus. Now, whoever is wise, what's the opposite of being wise? It's having a foolish and divided heart. Right? Now, whoever is wise, a wise person comes to the Lord with all his heart. Now, look at me, folks. I want you to hear what I'm saying. Proverbs, now, a wise... In the last days, in Matthew 25, there's going to be the wise version and the foolish version. The wise will come to the Lord with all their heart. The foolish versions are not going to have any law. Their lamps are going to go out and they're going to stumble away. They're going to go to the wise and want some more. They won't know what's going on and everything. But the door is going to be shut to them. Salvation is going to be shut to them. And this is wise. Whoever wise, let him what? What's this word? Understanding. So a wise person has to understand. That's reading the foolish version. Does not have understanding. Whoever is what? Discerning. The wise has understanding and discernment. Let him know them for the ways of the Lord are righteous. And you ready? And the righteous will analyze the Word of God. The righteous will walk in it. Amen? Now, when Jesus has all your heart, look at me, folks. This Word right here, when Jesus has your heart, you love this Word more than you do anything else. Now, when you come to read this Word, you don't do it for an exercise. You come here to look in the mirror and see if your heart's lined up with it. And when you see something right here that doesn't line up with, it's in your heart, it doesn't line up here, this is how people get set free in these meetings. Because immediately, your heart gets turned from it. Say, I love Jesus more than I do this idol and these things in my heart. So you turn from it and that's how strongholds get lifted up and that's how you know the truth and the truth sets you free. Amen? Because why? The Word cannot wash your heart from all evil unless you love Jesus with all your heart. Do you know why? You'll come to the Word and you'll pick and choose through there. Well, I'll take some of that. I don't like this. We don't like this right here. Well, we'll take some of this over here. No, we don't like that. Well, you've got another Jesus. Now, that's just plain. I mean, folks, I mean, I'm not saying this to be cute or smart. I'm telling you, I've watched these things. He's just gone on to be of the Lord. He went to hell. Tell somebody, I mean, these things just need to be said. Somebody don't walk in front of a church building and go to heaven. You make Jesus Christ Lord of your whole heart or you missed Him. Now, and you'll know them by their fruit. Do you know why you'll know them by their fruit? You're not going to know them by some certificate or card or anything. You're going to know them because, brother, they're going to bear the fruit. Let me get down there where you are. Boy, this is strong. I'm going to tell you something, folks. The Word of God separates. Now, just get adjusted. I'm going to tell you, I'm going to walk with the ones that are going to come to the Lord. I'm going to fellowship with those of the Lord that come with a pure heart and cleanse yourself just like 2 Timothy 2 says. We're living in a time of deception, tremendous deception. I'm telling you, the fall of the way has already taken place. Now, the Word has been lost and God's trying to show us some things. He's going to show us all the same thing. There won't be no big shot in a bunch. It's just going to be Jesus. Is that plain? And I'm going to tell you what the church of Jesus Christ, the people are going to be gathered around Jesus and all are going to be gathered around folks or intellect or academic or men or thoughts or doctrines or everything. Amen? Praise the Lord. Now, I'm mad at the devil and I'm mad at everything that turns people away from the truth. And I'm not attacking people because I received some grace and I prayed to God that I bless everyone that's ever hated me or anything. I just think I've got the grace to do that. I don't really mean that, but I despise things that cause people to go to hell. I despise it in my own life, sin in my own life, I despise it. I despise rebellion. I despise it when I see it and I want you to know I'm turning from it and I'm going to the light. And James 3 says, the body of Christ will come to the light and it won't come through the back door either. Is that plain? Okay. Now, whoever is wise is going to understand this. Whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord is right. Let God be true and every man be a liar. And the righteous are not going to analyze the Word of God. They're going to walk in it. Now, but transgressors are going to what? They're going to stumble. They're staggering and stumbling in spiritual darkness. That's exactly. Going to stumble. You know what you're staggering and stumbling for? You won't know the way. Turn to Acts 7, please. Acts 7. Hey, Walter, if you get my black Bible, I wouldn't mind. These pages stick together and everything. It's just... You might start by looking in room 9 back there. Okay, brother. Appreciate it. All right, now. Acts 7, verse 30. Let me just ask you something first. Is Moses a type of Jesus? Did he have the Word of God? All right, now, Moses, who was it that appeared in burning bush to Moses? Let me tell you who it was. It's Jesus. Amen? Now, if you didn't know that, you're fixing to learn it. Okay? It was Jesus. Now, in Acts 7, verse 30. And after 40 years had passed, an angel appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai in the flame of a burning thorn bush that appeared to Moses. And when Moses saw it... It's called an angel here, you notice. And when Moses saw it, he began to marvel at the sight, and as he approached and looked more closely, there came the voice of who? The Lord. Well, I don't think we call all angels the Lord, do we? I only know of one. All right, now, verse 32. I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Japheth, and Moses. He shook with fear, and he would not venture to look. But the Lord said to him, Take off the sandals from your feet. Praise God forevermore. Isn't that wonderful? Isn't that sweet? Isn't that precious? Boy, I mean to get in the presence of God, I'll tell you what. Take off the sandals from your feet for the place on which you are standing is holy ground. He said, I have certainly seen the oppressions of my people in Egypt, and I have heard their groans, and I have come down to deliver them. Now, I want you to know who's talking there is Jesus. Jesus said, I've come down to deliver, and I'm telling you, he's still doing it. Come now, and I'm going to send you to Egypt. That's where he's wanting to send all of us. Bring them out of there. Verse 35. And he wants us to walk along. Look at me. He wants us to walk along the hedges where there's peace supposed to be in the body of Christ because they're dealing with sin and rebellion, and that's the reason there's peace in there, and that's where the hedge is, and that hedge is a wall, and that wall is the glory of Jesus. And that wall don't come up until you get everything, you start dealing with everything on the band and throwing it out of there. Get it out of there. Amen? And then you go walk along these hedges and say, Come on in here. Right in here is where there's peace. In here is Jesus. In here is healing. In here is... They take every weakness, sickness, disease, infirmity, curse and sin. You can get it all done right in here because Jesus is standing right in the middle of this bunch, not folks. Amen? Okay. Now, verse 35. This Moses, whom they disowned, saying, Who made you a ruler and a judge, is the one whom God sent to be both ruler and deliverer with the help of the angel who appeared to him in the thorn bush. Now, God sent Moses to be a ruler and deliverer. Do you see that's the type of Jesus? Is that correct? Alright. Now, in verse 36. This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt and in the Red Sea and in the wilderness for 40 years. Is that right? Now, let's just think about something. Now, look at me right here. Alright. Somebody's not looking. Alright. Moses was in the wilderness for 40 years. Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days. Isn't that right? Alright. Moses went to take a people out of Egypt. Is that right? Jesus is taking a people out of the world today. Is that right? Alright. Moses had the word and he was taking them out with signs and wonders. There are signs and wonders following the words of Jesus today. Is that correct? And then he's taking them out and then Moses led some people and as they passed through the Red Sea they were baptized into Moses. We are baptized into Jesus. Is that right? Alright. Now, as they went across the wilderness there was the cloud and the fire to lead them day and night. Is that right? Which represents what? The Holy Spirit. In the wilderness we are led by the Spirit of God and the Lord leads us. Are you seeing the... Are you seeing the titles right there? Led us through the Spirit. Alright. Now, where are they headed to? They are led to possess the land. Ever since God has had Israel it's been a land to possess. Amen? And then Moses took them up there and they are going into the Canaanites. I told you the other night if you just look at the meaning of the names of all these Canaanite nations and you'll find out that the oppressors and so forth they get on this... That's a type of the powers of darkness on this land right here. Are you hearing me? They get on this land here. Now, if you don't believe they are on the land you just stick around here a while and you'll see some people getting free from them. But anyway, they said, you are going to cross and you are going to go over and we are going to possess the land right there. And what they sent out spies they looked it over and they come back with what? Mal. Bad reports, bad reports, bad reports, bad reports. And they fear and dreaded them. Amen? So they didn't go in to possess the land. Did they? Later on they did. But what did God do? He let them rot right in the wilderness walking in circles. Amen? Alright, now. The Lord today, He says for you to go possess the land with the sword and the word. We've given the weapons to Jesus in Ephesians 6. We've already seen it. Is that right? That land right here is the sword, the word, the gospel, faith, above all you have a shield of faith and you come to possess this land. What do you do? You get these Canaanite nations off of it. Is that right? Is that right? You get them off of it. I'm telling you they have to go. And you do. And when you walk in covenant with Jesus, everything Jesus is, everything you ain't, Jesus is. Jesus is stronger than anything that comes against you. And the way you get Him, you just read the other stuff. I get so excited I can't even say it sometimes. Can I just tell you something? There's a fella walking out, you know, the other night, the latter part of the week. This is going to be my last night here. And he said, I've just, he said, and you could tell a man had just torn me into pieces. I mean they were just hanging on him. And he said, I've had people to pray for me, and pray for me. And I just can't get free. And he said, I just want to die. I just don't want to even live. I just can't stand it. And that's the kind of torment the man was in. So I asked him to go over to that bench. And I said, let's just sit down over here. And we went over there and we sat down. And I said, I think the Lord's already showed me what your problem is. You have a problem when somebody has to pray for you. Pray for you. You have a problem believing because instead of listening to the Lord, you start listening to those little voices up there that say, well, it will happen to somebody else, but it won't happen to me. I can't be set free. And so forth. And so immediately when you start to pray, what can God do if somebody wants to listen to the devil? So when you lay your hands on him, there he is listening to the devil. And the little old voice says, yes, sir, that's just exactly right. I can't be free. And that's right, you can't as long as you listen to the devil. And so I explained this to him. And he said, well, that's right. I have been just prayed for at times and that's just the way I've been. I said, shut your mouth. Just shut up and quit agreeing to the devil. If you want freedom, just shut your mouth. In a nice sort of way. Because, see, I explained. See, I saw what was on him and I didn't want him to go all that long distance. We're talking about life and death on this man. And I've done told him the truth and I'm sitting there listening to a demon. You hear me? And this is serious. It's not bless my flesh. I mean, this man would be free and he'd shut his mouth and talk like Jesus. Amen? I'm not mad or nothing. Except the devil. But anyway. Let me tell you, boy, he's a bunch of things on his land. And I said, now, and boy, it just kind of, you know, he kind of looked at me when I said that. And I would have to. But anyway, he began listening and he saw it, you know, that he was still agreeing with something. I was trying to show him different and he still agreed. And I said, I'm going to tell you something. I'm going to tell you, you're not going to get back up off this bench. You're going to be a free person if you'll listen to me. Now, I said, I know what's got you and I know how you can be free. Now, what I want you to do. I said, Jesus is stronger than that unbelief and doubt that's in you and everything that's in you will come against you. So get your mind off that and quit running your mouth and talk about how strong the devil is. He's weak. Amen? And so anyway, I said, now, your Bible says that you lift up your hands to the throne of grace in time of need. And so, I said, now, put up your hands and reach up there to the throne of grace. And boy, they flew up like that. And I said, now, I said, I want you to follow me. Now, Lord Jesus, you are stronger than any doubt and unbelief and stronghold that I have. I'm sorry that I have blamed you and condemned you because I hadn't been free. Because in reality, I have not obeyed and stood in your word, God. It's my fault and my sin. And so now, I'm believing because you're in everything that's coming against my mind, the doubt and unbelief that I can't be healed and set free right here in Jesus' name. And you are the deliverer and you are my healer. Now, right now, from your throne, right now, I receive grace in time of need because you're making me something I ain't right now. Now, I'm stronger than doubt and unbelief and a smile started coming across. God began doing something to me. God began making him something he wasn't. He'd been done doing it by himself. Can you hear me? I love to watch God be God. And so a smile came across his face. To make a long story short, that fellow did everything but run through a wall in here. He got so free. He got so peaceful that we thought he was going to fall on us. I mean, it was just beautiful things to see. Now, he possessed the land. But you know something else? I told him, now when you walk out that door right there, the first thing you don't do is go find you a television set so you can fill yourself back up with demons again. Don't you go to that tree of death and invite this hate and violence and anger and suspicion and jealousy and adultery and lust and all that. Don't you go and start eating those words again because when you sit down there and start getting into it, you're just saying, come right back in here and let's enjoy some hell here together. I'm telling you the truth, folks. I'm telling you the truth. Now, I want to tell you something. You get involved in deliverance of people who like to go watch hell. And they'll never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never, ever be free. They're double-minded and they're trapped by the world and the flesh and demons. I don't care if they make every Sunday and every Wednesday and every WMU meeting it ever is, they'll stay hooked by the devil. Amen? He knows what I'm talking about. Now, there is a land to possess. You only do it God's way because you cannot do it by yourself. And that's why Hebrews 3 and 4 got there. Don't harden your heart. Have a repentant heart and then enter into the rest. That's not an option. The rest is to put all of this striving and all the things of the flesh to death and just get in on it. Be led by the Spirit of God and let Jesus be Lord over your whole heart. Amen? Praise God. Now, this is all grace. I mean, there's nobody can boast about anything. I mean, it's getting in on it. It's all Jesus. Amen? Okay. So we see the same thing as Moses is a type of Jesus. Now, verse 37. This is a Moses, verse 37, who said to the sons of Israel, God shall raise up for you a prophet like me from your brethren. I wonder who that prophet is going to be. This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness together with the angel. And this angel is Jesus who was speaking to him on Mount Sinai who was with our fathers and he received the living word to pass on to you. Now, watch very closely in 39. But our fathers were unwilling to be what? Obedient to him. But what did they do? They repudiated him. And what's those three words? In their heart they turned back where? They turned back to the world. Now, look at me, folks. What does your Bible say? Do not love the world or things in the world. For all that's in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boasts of the body and the life, you don't let the world or anything in the world have your heart. Amen? What does it change for? For anyone who's a friend of the world, he's an enemy of God. You know what God does to his enemies? He kills them. Destroys them. Because he turns his anger aloof on them. And they're destroyed. Now, I'm going to tell you something, folks. Jesus, I mean, when you make covenant with God, he has all your heart. And then he's had... There's been sacrifices and things for sin and mistakes, unintentionally, that people make. And we've already had it all defeated by Jesus at Calvary through the blood and through the cross. Amen? But I'm telling you what, we are to walk right. We walk in covenant because two become one. That's covenant. Isn't that right? Now, let's just continue. And let's just look and see this as being Jesus right now. Let's turn back to Ezekiel 23, please. I mean Exodus. Exodus 23. Exodus 23. Now, Exodus 23, verse 20. And he's still talking to Moses right here. Behold, I'm going to send an angel before you to guard you along the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared for you. Now, there this same angel is. Be on your guard before him. He's talking about his angel. And obey his word. Now, watch very carefully and see if it sounds like just any angel. Do not be rebellious, for he will not pardon your transgressions. He's the only angel I know of that can pardon your transgressions. Is that right? But he'll not pardon your transgressions. Why? Because my name is in him. I'm going to read something quickly to you in John 8, 54. Wait a minute. John 8, 56 through 58. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day, and he saw it and was glad. The Jews therefore said to him, You're not yet fifty years old. Have you seen Abraham? Jesus said to them, Truly, truly. I say to you before Abraham was born, I am. And so we know that Jesus is the I am, and that God is in him, and God is in Jesus, and Jesus is in the Lord. Because this is what happened. Folks, do you know how Jesus becomes in you and how you and the Father all become one? Listen. Do you know that in covenant there's two become one? This is how the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost are all one. Because they're covenant. This is how we become one with them. Because when you come to all your hearts, you become one. Are you hearing me? That's how you become one. It's when you're covenant. When you come to all your hearts, you become one. And so, anyway, we're back there in Exodus 23, and I want to read verse 21 again. Be on your guard before him and obey his voice. Do not be rebellious toward him, for he will not pardon your transgressions. He's not going to pardon your sins, since my name is in him, if you're rebellious. But if you will truly obey his word and do all that Jesus tells us, you know at the top of the day, and an adversary to your adversaries. Now verse 23. For my angel will go before you, and he's going to bring you into the land. Now this is all a type, these Canaanite nations are the powers of darkness, and I will destroy them. And that's what he wanted them to go possess the land. Is that right? That's a type of the enemy on the land, the powers of darkness. Amen? Now look at verse 25. But you shall serve the Lord your God, he will bless your bread and your water. And back then Jesus said, and I'll remove, what? Sickness from your midst. It's an interesting thing that we have a better covenant today, and better promises, and he can't do it today. Isn't that interesting? I'll remove sickness from your midst. Now verse 26. There shall be no one miscarrying or bearing in your land. I'll fulfill the number of your days. And folks, I'm going to tell you something. If anyone here wants to have children, and you're not having children, you need to get these curses broken over you, because just go ahead and have some babies, and just get that broke. You know what I mean? And you don't have to get in your run and start to do it, but you just ought to start dealing with these things. Amen? All right, now in verse, I mean, you know the second time I was over there in India? No, the first time I was over there. I come out of a church that didn't do any of these things. And God just, well, George Hunt's right there. George is good. It's right here, right with me. And we was over there, and I'm going to tell you what. When I went back over there 14 months later, the pastor had, how many mothers was it there that had 5-month-old babies when we went back, George? Huh? About 5 of them. They had 3 of them there to meet us, didn't they, with their little babies there. There were 2 or 3 of them they had to meet us, but they were fine. But see, they all had their children. Now verse 27, I will send My terror ahead of you, and to throw into confusion all the people among you whom you come, and I'm going to make all your enemies turn their backs to you. Now who's He going to do that for? The ones who walk in covenant in obedience to the Word, right? He's going to become something you aren't in your life. I don't care what comes against you. When you come with all your heart to God and you stand in His Word, you overcome everything, and that's how you do it. Amen? Now, verse 28, but you don't get Jesus to come and, come on down here and cooperate with us, Lord. Do you see what we're trying to do for you? That's not the way it comes. Amen? Now 28, And I'm going to send hornets ahead of you, that they may drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, the Hittites before you. That's them. I'll not drive them out before you in a single year, that the land may not become desolate, and the beasts of the field there, they are become to what? Numerous for you. But here's what He's going to do in verse 30. I'm going to drive them out before you little by little until you become what? Uh-oh, you become fruitful and take what? Possession of the land. Look at me, folks. Look at me. The more fruitful you become, the less problems you're going to have with torment. Do you hear me? Because what? You die. See, the powers of darkness ride in on this cursed nature. Amen? So you don't go get your experience and walk back out before you get out of the yard until you think, you've still got the same problem. That's why people lose healing. That's why people can never be free. They go into despair and everything because they think, you know, it's an interesting thing that someone just has a deliverance ministry. Well, I think it's good that people get in deliverance and just learn, and I'll not get boxed into you and you won't get boxed into me. But I'm going to tell you that the body of Christ is a deliverance ministry. You understand? He works through all of us. There ain't no big shots in anything. You understand what I mean? He works through every one of us. I mean, it's Jesus, the healer and deliverer, and He's given the greatest gift to the less honored members so there'd be no division in the body. I mean, He's not where partiality is. He's not in 25 miles of it. The seeking of bribes or unmatches. He doesn't have anything to do with it. He's not there. So He might as well just sit and count. Now, I'm going to read this again. It's good. 29, I'll not drive them out before you in a single year that the land may not become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. Now look at verse 33. They're not going to live in your land. Why? Because they're going to make you sin against me for if you serve their God, it's surely going to be a snare to you. And when you've got an enemy in your land, you know what he's going to do? He's trying to open the door where more enemies can get on your land. And I want to tell you something. If you're not overcoming them, they're overcoming you. Is that plain? Okay. Now I want you to turn to me to Leviticus 26. Leviticus 26. Right before Numbers. Leviticus 26. Now I want you to watch something. Let's start in verse 1. This concludes tape number 5. Please fast forward this tape to return it to the beginning. Please proceed to tape number 6 where this message continues.
