Sermon Summary
Phil Beach Jr. emphasizes the necessity of knowing God amidst the chaos of competing voices and distractions in our lives. He urges believers to seek a deep, personal relationship with God, where they not only give their hearts to Him but also yearn for His heart in return. This twofold exchange is crucial for overcoming the spiritual warfare that targets those who are committed to God. Beach highlights that true strength comes from being led by God's word and being in His presence, especially in times of crisis. Ultimately, he calls the church to cultivate a heart that seeks God's intimacy, which is essential for standing firm against the enemy's plans.

But Daniel said, those who know their God. Those who know their God shall be strong. Beloved, it's the heart cry of the Lord this morning. For us to know our God, listen carefully. There's many voices that are right now wrestling for your attention, wrestling for your heart's affection. There's many voices. There's many desires that are stirring within our hearts and within our minds and our souls. And the Lord wants us to come to him and to be still before him so that we can learn to follow his voice. We can learn to follow his word. Jesus said, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. There is a great need in this hour that we live in, beloved. For our hearts and our souls and our minds and our very being to begin to yearn for and long after the good word of God. The good word of God, that we might be led by his word and that the word might get deep inside of our spirits and that it might become a source of strength and encouragement to us. There are many voices that are crying out, this is the way, walk in it. Many people are saying many things and mass confusion is going to come to this generation. It's going to come to this country. It's going to come to the church. And God is even now crying out to you and I, that we would begin to search and seek him out with all of our heart. Do not let anything distract you from that place of quietness before the Lord, where your spirit is concentrated on him. Your mind is concentrated on him and your heart is open to him and you are waiting for him in his presence. You're waiting for his guidance. You're waiting for a word from him. You're waiting for him to speak to you, to encourage you. Beloved, that will be the source of strength in his people in this last hour. It will be a people who are led by his hand, by his heart. The Bible says in the book of Proverbs, it is God speaking and he's saying, son, give me your heart. And there is a place, listen closely, listen closely to this word from the Lord. There is a place in the life of every single believer when the believer is hearing the Lord say, son, give me your heart. Son, give me your affections. Son, give me your desires. Son, give me the things that you are holding on to. But let me tell you, beloved, that that is not the ultimate place where God is satisfied. Because once the Lord is able to get a hold of us, once the Lord is able to get a hold of our hearts and our affections are in his hands and we are daily coming to him through the power of grace, the power of God's spirit. And we are daily giving him our heart and our mind and our thoughts and our desires and our passions. And we're waiting quietly in his presence for him to minister to us. Something begins to happen. Instead of hearing God say, son, give me your heart. We start sensing within our spirit a cry, Father, give me your heart. Give me your heart. Let me know your thoughts. Lord, I can't live unless I lay my head upon your bosom and drink of the fountain that flows from your throne. It is this kind of a heart cry that must be developed within the church today that is going to preserve us from the coming Holocaust that is coming to all the world. It is a cry, God, give me your heart. There is a great warfare that is coming against that kind of heart being fashioned in us. All the powers of the world, all the voluptuous powers of this age are arrayed against the forming of that kind of heart within the children of God. They are also arrayed against the child of God, hearing God say, son, daughter, give me your heart. That's the first step. And then the second step is, Father, give me your heart. Paul was in the place when he wrote his letters to the churches where you see a man whose heart was after God. That I might know him, that I might lay hold of all that I was in Christ Jesus apprehended for. You see a man who was just like you and I. He came from the same womb, the womb of woman, but he was apprehended by God. And he said that the thing that God was doing in his life was an example of what God wanted to do in the whole church. Not everyone, listen carefully, not everyone is called to be an apostle, called to be a prophet, called to be an evangelist. Not everyone has the gift of teaching. That particular calling is not for everybody. God chooses whom he will for that. But as far as a heart of a son crying out to Father, Father, give me your heart, give me your heart. Let me know you. That is not an exclusive desire only for certain elect people in the body. But that is to be a desire that everyone, the least to the greatest, the most insignificant to the most significant, the most invisible to the most visible. Every member of the body ought to be growing in that kind of a heart passion for God. No exceptions. And the warfare that is currently being engaged against you and I is intended to somehow quench that two-fold walking of God in our life. And therefore. We have to stand by the power of grace, by the power of the Holy Spirit, by the power of the word of God, and by encouraging one another daily, we have to stand for God's highest intention in our lives and stand against the enemy's intention. Together as a body and individually, my God, in the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord. Have you asked the Lord that your soul, that the eye of your heart would see the Lord no matter what you're going through right now, no matter what the difficulty is, no matter what unique crisis you are in right now, you can see the Lord and this is not referring to an emotional thing. It's not refilling to a feeling thing. Don't misunderstand emotion and feeling with fact. Don't misunderstand it. Don't look for an emotion. Now, you might emotionally feel like you are terribly messed up or you might feel emotionally the most negative emotions you can imagine, but that is irrelevant. It is not based on feeling, it is based on the fact of God's word. God has a revelation of himself for you right now where you're at. There is an aspect of God that he wants to reveal to you right now in the crisis that you're going through. Matter of fact, the only way that we come to know his name is through real life, hard experiences. Whenever the Bible speaks about the Lord revealing his name to his servants in the Old Testament, it was always through a crisis. They came to a crisis, they had a need, and all of a sudden God says, I am Jehovah Rapha, the Lord that heals you. I am Jehovah Jireh, the Lord that provides. Jehovah Nisa. Jehovah Sidcanu. You see, it was in real life experiences. So what is it that you're going through right now that God has uniquely prepared you for that you might get another aspect of his name revealed to you? Don't look at the crisis. Don't be overwhelmed by the pain. Don't be shaken by the difficulty, but look to the Lord, look to the Lord, look to the Lord. Even judgment that came to Israel in the wilderness for murmuring and complaining resulted in a serpent being lifted up and Moses said, whoever looks upon the serpent will be healed. So there's even healing in judgment. There's healing in chastening. There's healing. There's something of God's heart, something of God's name that is ready to be revealed in anything that we go through. Anything. Have you discovered that unique revelation of God himself in your crisis this morning? Israel was so aware of the pain of the wilderness and the drought of the wilderness. They forgot that Jesus was the stone in their midst that had rivers of water. Oh, yes, the shepherd has for you this morning. A revelation, a glorious revelation. Of himself, you might feel lonely. There's a revelation for you this morning, it is the words of Jesus, Lo, I am with you. Even to the end of the age, you might feel betrayed this morning, but there's a revelation for you this morning. It's the revelation of Jesus, who, when he was betrayed, he trusted his father. And blessed the betrayer and loved the betrayer and called the betrayer friend. He wasn't just talking the talk. He chose a word when he said friend that made a distinction between a casual professional relationship. You know, you might call an acquaintance at work friend, or you might see someone walking down the street and say, good day, friend. That's not what Jesus meant when he looked at Judas, the betrayer, and said friend. But he chose a word that implied an intimate, familiar acquaintance. You say, well, that's not in my heart to do. You're right. It's not in your heart to do. But that's where we come to where we say, God, give me your heart. Give me your heart. Do you feel lack this morning? Jehovah says, I am the all sufficient one. I am your nursemaid. I'm the one that will care for you. Come on, what are you going through? Think it through. Whatever, it doesn't matter what difficulty you're going through right now. Even if you're a teenager or a young person, God can deal with you. I feel that nothing's fair. Well, it wasn't fair how they treated Jesus either, but he submitted to his parents' authority, didn't he? Where were you, Jesus? Woman, didn't you know I must be about my father's business? Nevertheless, the Bible says he became subject to his parents. So even Jesus set the example for children and teenagers, be subject to your parents when you don't think it's fair. And you're learning something of the heart of God, you have been divinely set up this morning for a revelation of God. If you'll look for it, if you'll ask for it and you'll find that revelation of God will meet the crisis of your soul right now. Whatever the crisis is, whatever the need is, there is a God in heaven who calls you his father. He calls to you and says, I am your father. He has a revelation for you this morning. A living revelation, one that goes beyond theology, one that goes beyond head knowledge, as Alan was sharing, something that goes further than the head. It's a revelation in the eye of your heart by the Holy Spirit unveiling to you the intimacy of who he is to you at this moment. And it will change your life. It will add to your character. It will add to your spiritual stature. It will add to who you are in Christ. And it will make you that much richer so you can give it to others. Everything you're going through this morning, I tell you, I want to stand against a lying spirit that comes to us. And that lying spirit is a pity spirit. And what it is, is it comes to you and, oh, woe is me, look what's happening to me. And the whole reason why that spirit has power is because we always interpret what's going on around us from a selfish point of view. How it's affecting me, how it makes me feel, how it makes me feel. But what if, by the grace of God, we stopped walking in that mindset and started interpreting everything that's happening in my life as how it's going to affect my brothers and sisters. Lord, thank you for this difficulty, because through it, I'm going to come into a greater knowledge of you and have that much more to give to my brothers and sisters. I'll have that much more to share with the body. I'll have that much more to share with a soul that's hurting. I thank you, Lord, that you've not let me live the easy life. I thank you, Lord, that you've not let me coast, that you've not let me get the things I wanted, because it would have killed me. It would have destroyed me spiritually. I thank you, God, that when I lifted up my voice and said, Lord, I want this and I want that. And when I looked and saw something that appealed to me, that you denied it. I thank you, Lord, that you did, because now in retrospect, I can see if I would have gotten it, it would have been my spiritual ruin. It would have been my spiritual ruin. So Father knows best, doesn't he? Father knows best. Think about it. Think about it. You are in a unique position right now to gain spiritual wealth, to add to the increase of the body of Christ. Not I'm in it for myself, not what's happening to me. We either think of it as it's benefiting me or it's cramping my style. That whole mindset must be washed away from us through the power of the Word of God. And we must wake up with a new mindset. We've got to realize that we are in it, not chiefly for ourself, but for the praise and glory of God and for the increase of Christ in the lives of other people. I have come to see and realize that everything that has happened in my life, even before I was saved, but chiefly May 28, 1978. Everything that has happened in my life from that day up to this moment has not been chiefly for my own benefit or my personal good. But I have seen it now to be for the good and benefit of others. My failures have been for the sake of others. My victories have been for the sake of others. Everything that I am today and everything that the grace of God is doing in me that is coming out through me is the result of my father's sovereign, wise dealing in my life. There's no personal glory. I don't feel happy when I think about 21 years of serving the Lord and what I've got out of it. That is a sour taste to my spirit now. But what makes me so happy is 21 years of walking with the Lord. And now what are others getting out of it? Am I making people wealthy? Am I making people rich? Am I helping people to get closer to Jesus? That is what makes me happy. I'm no longer in the equation. I'm no longer in it. And so it should be. With all of us, all of us. This morning, isn't he lovely? Oh, God, help us. Help us, Lord. Help us to see. Help us to see, Lord, your glory. Help us to see your majesty. Help us to see, Lord, the splendor of what you're doing. Thank you, Lord. Psalm 83, for a few moments, Satan's plan to destroy God's hidden ones. Satan's plan to destroy God's hidden ones. Psalm 83, keep not thou silence, O God, hold not thy peace and be not still, O God, for lo, thine enemies make a tumult and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against thy people. And consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, come, let us cut them off from being a nation. That the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent. They are confederate or they are one against thee. The tabernacles of Edom and the Ishmaelites of Moab and the Hagarins, Gabal and Ammon and Amalek, the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre. Asher also is joined with them. They have helped the children of La, Selah. Do unto them as unto the Midianites, as to Seserah, as to Jabin at the brook of Kishon, which perished at Endor. They became as dung for the earth. Make their nobles like Ureb and like Zeb. Yea, all their princes as Zeba and as Zamona, who said, let us take to our possession or to ourselves the houses of God in possession. Oh, my God, make them like a wheel as the stubble before the wind, as the fire burneth the wood and as the flame seteth the mountains on fire. So persecute them with thy tempest and make them afraid with thy storm. Fill their faces with shame that they may seek thy name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and troubled forever. Yea, let them be put to shame and perish that men may know that thou, whose name is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth. Satan's plan to destroy God's hidden ones. We are going in God's time as we have liberty, as I have liberty to begin to walk through this psalm and begin to expose the plan that is currently being implemented against every one of the Lord's hidden ones. Everyone whose hearts are toward the Lord in the fashion that we mentioned earlier. First of all, those who are hearing the voice of God daily say, son, daughter, give me your heart. You are hearing God. Your heart is sensitive to him. You are learning through the grace of God how to daily deliver over to the Lord your desires, your interests, your dreams, your pain, your frustrations. You are giving your heart to the Lord. You're not allowing the roots of bitterness to grow in your life. You're not allowing the seeds of hatred and jealousy. You're not listening to the backbiting ear. You're not engaging in gossip. You're learning to deliver your life over to the Lord that he might still your spirit. You're learning how to commune with God. These are the hidden ones. These are the ones who are on the road to become overcomers. These are the ones that in the age to come will sit down with Jesus on his throne and will rule with him, by him and through him and unto him. These are the ones that Satan's hostility is arrayed against with fury beyond the ability of a human tongue to communicate. Satan is after every seed, every godly seed that's come from the loins of Christ to destroy and to defile and to stop that seed from bringing forth the full intention of God. You are in a warfare this morning. And as you learn to give your heart to the Lord, then God forms in you a heart that cries out, Lord, I've given you my heart. Now you give me your heart. You give me your heart. You get to the place where you can't live unless you know that you have his heart, that he is sharing his intimacy with you. What a place. The house of God should be a place where people are after the heart of God, where people are seeking to know the God of the universe. The house of God should be a place where prayer is ascending before God, where the thoughts and desires of people are growing in the knowledge of God. The house of God shouldn't be a place where a den of thieves are, where there's merchandise being made out of people, where there's financial institutions going on and the principles of this world, they shouldn't be in the house of God. Beloved, the house of God is a living organism where members are connected to a living head and his life and his beauty is flowing through the carnal plans of man shouldn't be in the house of God. The ego dreams that men have shouldn't be in the house of God, but it should be Christ as the center. When this kind of a heart is being formed within God's people, there is a certain warfare, different from the warfare that is occurring in the life of a backslidden child of God who's at the bar, a different kind of warfare from the child of God who's got a problem drinking. Well, now that we're minimizing that, that's a dreadful thing, but there is a warfare that is reserved in hell and is focused against those hidden ones whose hearts are being changed, whose passion is for God alone, who are willing to sell everything because of the grace of God and follow Jesus. Don't think if God, by his grace, brings you to that heart posture that the battles behind you know you're about to face a battle worse than any battle that you've ever confronted. It is a battle that in allegorical language is laid out in Psalm 83. Now we're going to close, but before we close, I want you to know that in Galatians chapter four, Paul said that the two covenants, the covenant that was made on Mount Sinai had to do with Hagar and her children. And the covenant that God made with Jesus is a spiritual covenant. He said these two are allegories. And so what Paul is teaching us is this, an allegory is to speak differently from what one thinks, to speak where the thing spoken of is an emblem or representative of another thing. So when Paul talks about the covenant on Sinai having to do with Hagar and her children, he's saying that that whole story is true and literal, but it has a spiritual meaning. The truth of God speaking in the Old Testament, having an allegorical meaning is everywhere in the Old Testament. And when the eyes of our heart are opened and we're able to walk through Psalm 83, God reveals in allegorical language the precise schemes and strategies that are arrayed against God's hidden ones to try and overthrow their walk in union with Christ. So as we, as God gives utterance, goes through Psalm 83, as we go through this and we start gleaning spiritual understanding from Edom, what it means and what it implies spiritually. Because Edom is after the hidden ones of the Lord. Ishmael is after Hagar is after the hidden ones of the Lord. Gabal, Ammon, all of these words, either identifying a person or people, represent a spiritual reality that is arrayed against the child of God individually and against the church corporately. So we can learn much and you'll see as we go through this, these very things have already tried to seduce us, already tried to lay hold of us. But I believe God has planted this message in my spirit, has opened it up because God intends to shine light, to expose darkness and to give us the power through the name of Jesus, to conquer every one of these foes so that we might stand perfect in him, able to resist all his schemes, as in Ephesians chapter six, by the power of the living Christ who dwells in the heavens and also in our spirits through faith in his word. So may the Lord. This was like an introduction, an introduction. May the Lord give us ears to hear, keep us hungry after him. But remember, before we close the twofold work of God, number one, we start to hear God say, give me your heart. Do you hear God say that every day? Beloved, you should hear it every day. You should hear the ministry of the Holy Spirit through the word. Give me your heart. Give me that care. Give me that desire. Give me that emotion. Give me that fear. Give me that dream. You can't take hold of your life and work it out yourself. You're going to get in trouble doing that. Have you come to see that yet? Have you come to see you can't handle it? Have you come to see when you lay hold of it, you make a mess of it? All right. If you hear the Lord say that, then watch what happens. All of a sudden, you're going to find in your spirit after this process of hearing the Lord say, give me your life, you're going to start finding in your spirit a cry. At first, you might not be able to articulate it in a very good way, but you're going to find a little groaning. And it's this, oh, God, Jesus, however you say it, Lord Jesus, give me your heart. Lord, Lord, show me your way. Lord, give me your love. Lord, what are your thoughts? You see, that births out of giving our heart to the Lord. We give our heart to him and he gives his heart to us. It's a good deal. I tell you, that's a good deal. Boy, I said, Lord, take my heart and give me yours. Take my fears and give me your faith. Take my failures and give me your incredible power to take my failures and use them for your good. That's a good deal. That's better than that's better than Wall Street. That's better than the uncertainty of the stock market, because they say, give me your dollar and the way the stock market's going, I'll bring it back to you tenfold or twentyfold. Oh, you might get a temporary joy. You might get a temporary dividend. But brothers and sisters, whatever you make on that stock market, when your heart stops beating, you can't bring it with you. You can't plant it in the grave with you. You can't have a U-Haul attached to your hearse. You're going to go naked like you came. But if you get while you're on this earth, an open heaven and God's giving you his heart and you're giving him your heart and you're being filled with the knowledge of God, then when you die, you're going to bring that with you and you're going to be known as a wealthy one in heaven. And I don't know about the spiritual state of Bill Gates, and I'm not one to judge, but his assets are not going to make him wealthy in God's eyes. But if you get a hold of this and you get God's heart, you're going to be a wealthy person. Hallelujah to God. I better stop. Father, thank you for your word. Thank you for the ministry of the Holy Spirit this morning, for the testimonies, for the song. Thank you for showing us your heart, how much you love us, how you want us to come together as a body together. Lord, thank you for the word. That are you Zion must die, the thing that's captured our attention must die, Lord, thank you that you're the only one that can give perspective. We give you the authority to do it. We ask you to do it and to prepare our hearts, Lord, to start seeking you. To start hearing you say, give me your heart and then Lord, prepare us for that lovely day when all of a sudden we start sensing, Lord, give me your heart. God, do that in everyone, I pray, prepare us, Lord, in the days to come to hear this word and to be equipped that we might be able through the weapons of our warfare, the heavenly weapons. To resist these devices and stand strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, we commit this whole day into your hands, prospering according to your will, Lord, we pray. In Jesus name, it's 1230, we have a few minutes, if you like, you can just let the Lord's ministry of his spirit speak to you.
