William Yuille

William Yuille (date of birth unknown – ) is a Scottish-born Canadian preacher, Bible teacher, and elder whose ministry within the Plymouth Brethren movement reflects a commitment to Scripture and service alongside a secular career. Born in Hamilton, Scotland, Yuille graduated with honors from the University of Glasgow with a Bachelor of Science degree, laying a foundation in analytical thinking that informed his later teaching. After moving to Canada in 1972, seconded by his employer in the oil refining industry, he settled in Markham, Ontario, where he worked with the Ontario Hydro Commission in an administrative role until taking early retirement in 1994 to focus on ministry. Yuille’s preaching career began in his late teens, delivering sermons and Bible studies among Brethren assemblies in Scotland and later Canada. Post-retirement, he expanded this calling, serving as a conference speaker and church elder at Hopedale Assembly in Oakville, Ontario, where he resides with his wife, Naomi. His expository teaching, featured in publications like Uplook and Precious Seed, emphasizes practical Christian living, as seen in his book Daniel: Godly Living in a Hostile World (2009). As president of MSC Canada Inc., he supported missionaries in 50 countries, blending his administrative skills with evangelistic zeal. Though not a full-time ordained pastor, his ministry aligns with the Brethren’s lay-preaching ethos, leaving a legacy of quiet influence through teaching, writing, and global outreach, rooted in his Scottish heritage and Canadian home.
