Welcome to the Lord's Challenge with Joshua Daniel. The Layman's Evangelical Fellowship International is a ministry reaching people from all walks of life since 1935. After a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ at the age of 16, Joshua Daniel has been declaring the marvelous deliverance from sin, which is freely given to all those who turn to the loving Saviour. Wherever this message has gone out, broken relationships have been restored, sickness healed, ill-gotten money returned, and thieves turned into givers. We now invite you to watch and receive the invaluable blessing that God has for you. Now in the 62nd Psalm, the 5th verse, My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him. Here is King David, notwithstanding all the victories which he had won, saying, Lord, my expectation is from you. That's it. Only what comes from you counts. All the other stuff is just a hill of beans. Now we don't view things that way, do we? Did we ever? See, I fault also the upbringing. You know, sometimes I can't help but think that I was one of the most foolish fellows, even at college. All the other fellows who were my friends and sportsmen along with me, they made sure that they were going to pass the exams with flying colors. I know one of them who just quit at the high season of sports. He said, I've got to concentrate on my books. And he did. And he came to a very high position. And others like that. But as for me, I said, God has put me in the college to win souls. That's my primary purpose. And as for money, it did not interest me at all. I saw some of my friends saying, see, I'm going to take up this kind of engineering branch because there's a lot of money there. And find jobs. So they knew what they were selecting. But as far as I was concerned, I saw my parents only talk about eternal things. I mean, eternal things were very real to them. So it was being like Jesus. It was walking with Jesus. The Lord told me this. The Lord told me that. That was their conversation. So money was never elevated to a position of any importance in my home. That was my upbringing. And I praise God that after my conversion, that attitude, which was sown into me from childhood, was deeply rooted and confirmed. You know, when I look around at religion, it seems to be a bunch of money. Oh, if we had the money, we would do this. If we had the money, we would do that. What? God is not there. God is not in your equation at all. So you will only accomplish something or achieve something if you have the money. If you had a pile of money. To me, that does not make any sense. Not only that, I don't believe that it is a working proposition. What I have seen in my long years of preaching, now nearly, what, 67 years or 62 years. Seven is correct. What have I seen? I have seen that the poor of the world are the ones that attempt anything for God. It's the poor of the world. It's not when money increases. You know, when I hear that churches are shutting down. You know, some churches are being sold and are being turned into Hindu temples and Muslim mosques and so on. And this I saw in Minneapolis back 25, over 25 years ago. I cannot imagine. I remember a friend of mine and he was a very faithful man working in a very difficult city. Amongst a people who were very superficial. And he said to me, rather than seeing this church building turned into a dance hall, I will tear it down. His dad, a great surgeon, had built that church. He said, I won't allow my church to decline to such a degree that people will use it for all kinds of things. You know, my dear friends, if we have a place of worship today, as I, as, as you well know. And we are having to build huge places of worship because we are not able to contain the people. And by the time the church building is built, it becomes obsolete or very shortly after. Notwithstanding, what do I find? Where there is revival, the devil is always waiting. How can I bring in some homosexuality? How can I bring in some wickedness? How can I post some Judas's who will be preoccupied with money? Now, that's what I see. But take a poor situation. A little hut. A humble place. You know, I was in Ireland and they showed me the humble place, attached building, where a few young men began to pray. Back in 1859. And they prayed regularly. And they prayed with all their hearts. And revival broke out. And in 1959, a hundred years after, they said to me in Ireland. Brother, this is the centenary of the revival. A hundred years have gone and there's no revival now. Come and preach to us. Yes, when the Lord began to move and people began to repent. And a new stirring began. That is just as it should be. Any preaching of the word of God should bring fire. And power. And life. Into dry bones. That's the word of God. My expectation is from you. So, if somebody wants to tell me. Oh, we are passing through an awful recession. We don't have the money. We don't have this. We don't have that. I will say. Hey, that is exactly the time. When we ought to be serving God. With a redoubled love. That's not the time for us to say. Oh, there is no money so God can't work. It's absurd. God and money have nothing to do with each other. So, folks. Look at this expectation. And look at the eighth verse. Trust in him at all times you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. God is a refuge for us. How is it we never hear words like this. Coming out of the White House. We just don't hear this. Should we not humble ourselves? Of course we should. How come, oh, Lord? You know, as I see. And point out all the time. In the last great war. When I was but a little boy at that time. I could not understand everything. However. There were designated days of prayer. When the president. Or the queen of England. The king of England. Would call for a national day of prayer. And you know. The soldiers would march in. And their officers with them. And how humbly and reverently they would pray. But it looks like our politics today. Is riddled with so much. Dishonesty. And unrighteousness. That to talk about prayer. Seems like. A complete. Contradiction of everything else. But alas, alas. All right, if Washington will not pray. We can pray. If Washington cannot humble itself. We can humble ourselves. Why not? I can humble myself. You know that today. Even the teaching profession. You know both my parents were teachers. A noble profession. But it has become. A position. A teacher today. Is attacked. Is knifed. Abused. Set upon. What is this civilization? And what have we been doing about Christian teaching? Our Sunday schools are no longer operative. God is no refuge to us anymore. Our refuge. Is in the. The cops. We must have. A policeman. In every classroom. Alas, my dear people. I don't know. If even a situation like this. Cannot shock a nation. Into sense. Will that nation ever awake. Out of its sleep of death. I really wonder. Here is a situation. Where only. The living savior. Can turn things around. And. Don't forget his name. You know my dear friends. All of us say amen. At the end of each. Prayer isn't it. Now in revelation 314. The Bible tells us. He who is the amen. The faithful and true witness. These things set the. Amen. What. These things set the amen. Even to the Laodicean church. Amen. I am able to answer your prayer. I am the answer. I am the amen. You know our expectation. Should not be so small. No my dear friends. I must say. That. When I preach to you. I am preaching to myself. What is my expectation. Here we are. A bunch of ordinary people. Nothing so wonderful about us. But with whom are we dealing. We are dealing with the great. Amen. And are we ever going to arrive. At. God's answers. You see. In the 14th chapter of Exodus. When. Moses. Had no answer. The rumbling chariots of Pharaoh. And his horsemen. Galloping behind them. And the sea before them. They were trapped. Now do you think it is humanly. Possible for anybody to say. Stand still. And see the salvation of God. What does a proper commander say. In a situation like that. Every man to himself. Run helter skelter. Find some refuge. No faith. Look at that quality of faith. See my dear friends. Without faith we are not going to. Please God. I know we are going to be. Putting in all the physical. And other. Religious exercises. Maybe we will be recognized. As somebody. In certain circles. But before God. We will be nobody. You see faith is under attack. Now what would be the leadership of Moses. What would it amount to. If at that time. He had panicked also. You know I see a lot of panic. People panicking. Hey what am I going to do now. Where am I going to find the money now. Who is going to help me now. Well if there was a situation. Where a man could. Panic with good reason. Humanly speaking. Moses was in that situation. But to be able to say. Hey. Stand still. This is no time to panic. These hosts whom you see today. You are not going to see one of them again. Oh we need faith. What are we. Expecting from God. The leper when he came to Jesus. What will thou. That I should do unto you. Lord heal me. Heal me of my leprosy. That was that expectation. You know the leprosy of unfaith. Is a terrible disease. And if you are along with people of unfaith. I can't be five minutes. With people of unfaith. Let them be my closest. Relatives. Words of unfaith. Words of unfaith. Are like javelins. Which hurt me. I said don't insult God that way. How many are his mercies. He has carried us. As on eagles wings. And are we going to doubt him now. Words of unfaith. Oh my dear people. Today. If you and I could dispel these dark clouds. Of unfaith. From our families. From our hearts. And say to God. My expectation is anchored in you. And I know. That nothing is going to shake you or move you. Oh my dear friends. How blessed you would be. So let us go to the Lord. With something. Of a reasonable. Expectation. Which is in keeping with him. And with his person. And with his attributes. Not the kind of God whom you have pictured. Or imagined. But. The God of the Bible. The God of eternity. The God whose main attribute. Is love. Yes. This great amen. Will more than answer. Our cry. Let us pray. We come to you precious Lord. Put yourself before the Lord and say. Lord I want this kind of. Unshakeable faith. I can't wave up with every wind that blows. I can't panic. With every tragedy. That comes my way. And make us true. Make us. To be of a broken spirit. We ask in Jesus holy name. Amen.
