Sermon Transcription
Suddenly, there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting, and there appeared unto them cloven tongues, like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with utter tongues. Watch it closely now, as the Spirit gave them utterance, and they were all consumed with the God of fire. That's not written there, but that's what happened. That's right. Nobody can have the fire of God, unless they are genuinely, and totally, and eternally baptized in the Holy Ghost. Nobody can have it. That was God's method. They had His life on the earth for 33 years, I mean they could see it, they had His blood on the cross, they could see it, they had an empty tomb on the earth, they could walk into it, and come out of it, but they never had the fire of the Holy Ghost. Never. And Jesus died that you should have it. Jesus died because you must have the fire. Oh, if I could shout it through all your spirit and consciousness, till you could never cease hearing it. That's what God said to Israel, look, fire, fire, fire, day in, day out, wherever the altar was, wherever they travelled, wherever they stopped, whenever they went, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire. That's all they saw. Did they or did they not? That's how it's got to be with you. The tragedy was, that Israel became used to it. And it became religious ritual. And they didn't see God. All they saw was the natural physical element. All they knew was the lust of their own heart. That's what they knew. They loved the singing of the choirs. They loved the muttering of prayer. They loved it all. It was so nice. So aesthetic. Aesthetic. I've never read that word about heaven. Never. When you do, you write to me and tell me. Get my address from Malcolm. You've got to get beyond all aesthetic things. The aesthete is a soulish person living in the realm of the soul. Fire in the spirit. Everything is aimed at the soul. It's grandiose literature. It's marvellous choirs and orchestras. It's red robes. It's... Oh God. God says, woman in scarlet. That's all she is. God wants us in the fire, beloved. When John saw Jesus on the Isle of Patmos. He turned round to see the voice that was talking to him. Who is this talking to me? He turned round. And he saw Him. His eyes were like flames of fire. You read it in the first chapter of Revelation. He saw Him. Fire! His feet burning as though He was standing in the furnace. His face was shining above the brightness of the sun. Oh! This is Jesus. The man of fire. Also the man that could go to a little girl and say, little pet lamb, rise. He could say, fear not, fear not. Don't be afraid. Same Jesus. But I want you to know. Those eyes of fire. Burns in Him. Is He burning in you? Now you are a fire of one sort or another. Which are you? Which are you? You can't be both. One flame. One spirit with God. That's the birth. That's the baptism I'm talking about. That's the reality. That's God. I have my beliefs. So much the worse for you. Unless you act upon them. Better behalf never have heard. That's the truth. What a marvelous thing. To be in the fire of God. Oh Lord. Say to Him tonight. Lord you are fire. You are fire. Our God so consuming fire. I know He must have me. I'm nothing. Nobody. I don't know why He loved me. Except that He just did. I don't know why He should die for me. But He did. I don't know why. I don't know why. But I love Him. Because I've learned that He's done it all. Amen. Hallelujah. Come on. Come on. Come out of this lukewarmness. Come out of this. Oh. Oh. Come out of it. God there's no ice in heaven. Hallelujah. Any more than there's any sin or corruption. None of that. Come on. Come right out of it beloved. Won't you listen to the voice of the Lord? Won't you hear Him saying what He's saying? Oh John said, I heard a voice. I turned round to see who it was. It was Him. His eyes were flaming. And He comes into the church. He says, Oh I love you. I love you. Can you believe that? I do believe it Lord. Lord, I forsake it all, the sin. I forsake the world. I turn my back on this religion. I turn my back on all this. Oh God. Man, woman, devil, world, anything. The Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. This is the call of God. This is what the gospel is about. I'm not saying you've got to feel heat rushing up and down your spine or anything like that. That's not what I'm talking about. But coming in glorious knowledge of what you're doing. Say, Here I am Lord. If your fire burns on the altar, then that's where I'm coming. Not some artificial altar that men call an altar. Which they do chants and wave candles and incense and all that nonsense. I'm coming under the real altar of God. Amen. You know that there's nothing in the physical natural that answers to this great thing of God. It's in the spirit man. That's where you're either alive or dead tonight. According to the fire that burns in you. Amen. Lord God. Oh Father. Father. Father. Hallelujah. Don't try and conjure up feelings. Don't try and con yourself into anything. Come in all your nakedness and your need. That's right. Come as you are from the real fire of you. Amen. And that will make your man or a woman. Amen. Acting by the fire of you. I move to you Lord. I want you Lord. With all of me Lord I want you. That's how God wants it to be. I want you he says. Let God do something for you. Will you? Move to God. Now I don't know where you are. Any one of you. But this I know that God is here. And if you're going to move to God. I invite you to stand up. To your two feet. If you know God's got to meet you. You get to God. Standing on your feet won't do it. I give you the opportunity to respond. That's all. But don't do it unless in the depths of you. You're going to move into the fire of God. Let God baptise you. Hallelujah. Oh Father. Oh Father. Father. Father. Bless the Lord. Lord I mean it with you. Come on. Come from the depths of you. Lord tonight's the night. I mean it with you. Glory to God. Jesus. Father. Glory to God. Hallelujah. Go on. Go right through with God. Walk through everything. Doesn't matter what holds you back or holds you down. Lord. I'm coming through. Hallelujah. Bless the Lord. The Lord God of heaven baptise you in his spirit. The Lord God almighty. Send his fire into you. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Oh Father. Father. Father. Yes. Oh God. Every man or woman has a great capacity to be all that thou wantest of them. Hallelujah. Thank you for making this a vast capacity Lord. For God. Praise thy name. Fill thy people Lord. Fill those that thou hast redeemed. Oh God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And yet I want to love thee Lord. Oh light the flame within my heart. And I will love thee more and more. Until I see thee as thou art. Yes. Yes. Thank you Lord. I love you Lord. With all my heart. And with all my soul. And with all my strength. And with all that is within me. I love you Lord. With all my heart. And with all my soul. And with all my strength. And with all that is within me. Bless thy name Lord. Oh Lord. God wonderful Lord. Pure and holy. Righteous above all else. Blessed Lord. We love thee. Glory. When I fall. My ransomed soul possessing. Your power Lord. And I will dwell in thee. Light of my life. True source of every blessing. That all my days were holy. Thanks to thee. Empire of God. Thy grace and glory knowing. My penchant Lord. Shall be all from within. Love all constraining. Tenderness of knowing. One dimly fashioned. The other shines to win. Empire of God. Thy covenant undisturbing. Baptizing me. With heavenly energy. Touch when I fall. From all thine altar glowing. My perjured lips shall speak. The Lord of thee. Empire of God. With saddled foe declining. Till where from my hips. Thine eyes shall see. With purest gold. Thy perfectedness shining. My Christ revealed in clear irradiancy. Empire of God. Thy light of love transcending. Let all I hold. Divine empire alone. But my will. A sacrifice ascending. Consumed by fire from out thy fiery throne.
