Mike Bickle

Mike Bickle (1955 - ). American evangelical pastor, author, and founder of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), born in Kansas City, Missouri. Converted at 15 after hearing Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach at a 1970 Fellowship of Christian Athletes conference, he pastored several St. Louis churches before founding Kansas City Fellowship in 1982, later Metro Christian Fellowship. In 1999, he launched IHOPKC, pioneering 24/7 prayer and worship, growing to 2,500 staff and including a Bible college until its closure in 2024. Bickle authored books like Passion for Jesus (1994), emphasizing intimacy with God, eschatology, and Israel’s spiritual role. Associated with the Kansas City Prophets in the 1980s, he briefly aligned with John Wimber’s Vineyard movement until 1996. Married to Diane since 1973, they have two sons. His teachings, broadcast globally, focused on prayer and prophecy but faced criticism for controversial prophetic claims. In 2023, Bickle was dismissed from IHOPKC following allegations of misconduct, leading to his withdrawal from public ministry. His influence persists through archived sermons despite ongoing debates about his legacy

Father we come to you in the name of Jesus We ask you Lord again That you would teach us Lord that you would help us You would strengthen our spirit even now Father we ask you for might in the inner man We ask you for strength in our bodies even In this hour that we would be faithful witnesses to your truth. I Ask you for a spirit of boldness all over this room That as you mark your servants and they go forth from this place with a new boldness and a new clarity We thank you in Jesus name. Amen Well, we're looking at Zechariah 12 and half of Zechariah 13 because this passage goes together as you'll see very Purposefully we're on the final Oracle. The Oracle is all three chapters But there's a natural division the first half in the second half of these three chapters a chapter and a half each Just a point of review Paragraph a after the Visions of Zechariah 1 to 6 of the glory of God coming to Israel the question arises What about the Gentile nations that oppose Israel what's going to happen with them? What are you going to do with them and the Lord gives us tremendous Detail and it's a gift of God that we have this kind of detail Paragraph B He gives us The Lord does through Zechariah 2 prophetic oracles Chapter 9 to 11. We've already covered that one Now this prophetic Oracle that we're breaking down into two sessions, but it's one message and the reason it's important to say that is that though we're only looking at the first half of the Oracle now and then after The break the second half you have to read them together to get the complete meaning you can't separate them paragraph see The complete fulfillment of the details of these this final three chapters clearly the events Immediately related to the return of the Lord The phrase in that day Mentioned 18 times in three chapters and we know that phrase in that day Is one of the ways the prophets indicate the day of the Lord the fought those events that lead to the second coming of Christ paragraph D Zechariah 12 to 14 is one of the most dramatic and Important prophetic passages in the whole Bible It is a must-know passage if you've never studied this passage don't admit it, but say to yourself Where have I been? Let's go ahead and say that to yourself This is huge So just say Okay, we got that covered It's a must-know passage and what I'm really saying and I'm not trying to put anybody down But I'm alerting you that this is not one of those Passages you can just go on five more years and never get around to that's really what I'm saying in it These simple three. I'm in this short three chapters We see the conclusion of God's mysterious in time plan to Transition the earth to the age to come I mean to have insight about what's going to happen Politically Financially in the military sense spiritually to get this kind of insight Helps us to see events unfold and to see our participation in them and to be able To interpret those events in the right way. It's a tremendous gift that we have the storyline ahead of time We want to pour over these chapters particularly these three of the book of Zechariah We want to know the storyline since it's such a gift it's been given to us Then we want to boldly proclaim it tenderly But boldly we want to be able to stand where God's spoke to his prophets to stand Now just so you know this Last three chapters are politically incorrect on every point imaginable It is one of the most politically incorrect passages in the Bible The Lord has never been running a popularity contest He's wanting to transform the earth and righteousness. He wants truth and humility and love to abound. He's not running a popularity contest And so we want to stand for the truth, but we need to pour over it. We need to grasp it So that we can be bold but in our boldness we want to be tender in it because these truths are heavy truths They're hard to digest for us Though that are been meditating on them and for others that have never heard them before I mean, so we want to be tender in the communication of them paragraph II it's surprising Least to me that God's transition plan to bring this a earth to the age to come includes all the nation's warring against one city Who would have thought of a transition plan like that? I mean again God has the blank canvas He can put anything on that canvas any plan he wants As long as it's the perfect plan because God in wisdom only has one plan the perfect one and Who would have thought all the nations of the earth battling against one city would be the perfect plan like? Nobody would have thought of this except for that brilliant leader of the earth Jesus of Nazareth. He's so brilliant And I look at that I say never would have thought it I would have done it entirely different I would have given everybody enough food and everybody enough money and got everybody one big Happy setting and got everybody happy it would have failed miserably paragraph F Zechariah 12 gives us the first half of this final Oracle The overview because he tell the stories told twice the same Three and a half year period is covered two times In this session, we're covering chapter 12 verse 1 to 13 6. That's once One covering of it, then we start again Chapter 13 7 all the way to 14 21. We tell the same story But from a different angle. I just wanted to highlight that to you paragraph G Zechariah's message here has so many paradoxes Israel is going to see her greatest revival and her most severe apostasy at the same time How could that be? Her best days and her worst days are yet ahead Her greatest victory and her greatest suffering are both ahead The Jewish people will be gathered supernaturally to the land and they will be driven from the land somebody says Which is it? It's both the nations will gather around the city with Hostility and the spirit will gather the church around the city in intercession There'll be a global gathering one in the spirit and one in the natural around the city of Jerusalem paragraph I His message is politically incorrect now, this is not a complete statement. This is just a kind of a little taster Because you could build this out and lay out more points the most offensive message to Israel Two-thirds of the people will die in this process. That is unthinkable. We can't Comprehend what that means But less we lose the perspective of what's going on In the judgments of the trumpets bowls and seals half of the earth's population of the Gentiles died, too It's not just a trauma in Israel. There's a global trauma I heard one guy say I'm not going to Israel when we get closer to the end I go, what are you gonna be in the other nations where one-fourth of the earth dies and then later one-third dies There's only one safe place the name of the Lord and The goal isn't not to die. The goal is to live right not I don't try to avoid dying I don't want to live in this draggy little dumpy body for millions of years The goal is not to avoid death. The goal is to avoid Unfaithfulness, I want to live right to the end. I don't care when the end is I just want to make sure I live right to the end Some people their goal is to keep living physically regardless what it cost them. What a bizarre goal Really? I mean what happens we die and we're in the realm of glory a second later. That's not so bad well, anyway, don't avoid Israel so that you have the land of ease in the nation because Revelation 6 8 says one-fourth of the earth dies are talking about the Gentiles Then a revelation 915 It happens again a third dies when you add up the fourth plus a third it equals a half When you put those numbers together Again, the only safe place is the will of God in the name of the Lord Well the most offensive message of this final three chapters to Israel's two-thirds of the nation will die that's Unbelievable piece of information to say we need to say that information cautiously Tenderly and only when the Holy Spirit is prompting us That's not a kind of just a casual fact we throw around in a Bible debate prophecy discussion He's real human beings Well, the most offensive message to Islam is everybody in the earth will worship the God of Israel That's really troublesome to them. They don't mind dying. That's not a bother some of these aggressive militant Islamic They don't care dying the idea that everyone will worship the God of Israel is like how dare you say that? Most oh, I don't know if it's the most offensive But one of the most one of the most offensive messages to the church is the Jerusalem centric nature of God's plan for world dominion Even the purity of the church It's going to be not entirely but linked to our stand with Jesus for Jerusalem And that will make more sense later. I don't want to go into that right now, but People love Jesus They love the word. I got this Israel thing. Why do we gotta mess with this? This is that's just It just bothers Gentiles all over the earth Well, God insists that his plan is Jerusalem centric meaning that's the central piece Everything evolves around even the great harvest is going to be related to the battle for Jerusalem again I don't want to develop that right now, but that bothers the Gentile International Church around the earth there's more that could be said on that, but I Want to give you just a touch of how politically incorrect this is It's possible. I don't know This might have been the message that caused the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem to kill Zechariah We know Jesus said it in Matthew 23 35 The leaders of Jerusalem killed they murdered Zechariah because of his message. This was his last message. I Look at a couple of the hard spots. I go I can see what made him mad I don't know if it was this message, but he never had another one. That's recorded This is clearly his most offensive message Can you imagine? The nation it's some years undoubtedly after Zerubbabel and Joshua I'm guessing Zechariah's, you know 50 60 70 he's gone. He's not a young man anymore. It's many years later But the nation was the leadership I'm talking about not the nation itself and that's a very important point that I've not made a clear distinction When we talk about the nation of Israel rejecting Jesus, it's the political leaders that we're really talking about That was the premier issue. I'm not saying it's only them but they were the ones responsible before God far beyond the others But the political leaders could you imagine being so enraged at Zechariah with all the glorious things He said that they killed him in the temple The very temple he prophesied grace grace to years later. They killed him on that very site That's a remarkable fact. I got a lot of thoughts and feelings about that, but I need to move on because I have a some glorious Passage ahead of me Zechariah 12 we haven't really looked at yet page 81 begins in verse 1 the burden of the Lord against Israel Thus says the Lord who stretches out the heavens he lays the foundation of the earth He stretches out the heavens and he lays the foundations of the earth and he forms the spirit of man so this introduction Reminds us that the God with the power to create in Genesis 1 is the God behind this plan because it's going to take that much power to pull off the plan in chapter 12 13 and 14 So he introduces himself. He goes I have the power of the heavens and the earth because I'm going to re Order the heavens and the earth. I understand what I'm about to say particularly in in Zechariah 14 It's the God of Genesis 1 that will be acting in power When he says he formed the spirit of man What he's saying is I know how the human process works. I Understand the human makeup I created you my plan will work It's human friendly Humans will respond when the truth is laid out. It's workable for humans. That's what he's saying Because when we read this we go Lord, are you sure this is going to work? He goes I created the human spirit I get it. Trust me. I understand No matter how impossible things appear as we get closer to the To the pinnacle in the climax of this you can be sure it will be successful and it will transform Israel in the earth Paragraph C. It's a battle for Jerusalem the control of Jerusalem That's a phrase that we use a lot and other groups use it as well The battle for Jerusalem is a spiritual battle. It's a physical battle It's a financial battle, it's a military battle. It's a political battle I believe it's one of the primary battle fronts in the spirit If not the primary certainly at the very top of the list The Holy Spirit wants the whole church engaged in this battle with understanding And of course Zechariah 12 to 14 is one of those chapters that gives us clarity about that battle Chapter 12 verse 2 and 3 paragraph D Again, this is a surprising plan that God set it up this way He goes I'm gonna make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness Now at first it's only going to be to the surrounding nations of the Middle East But it's going to escalate First it will start with a siege Against Jerusalem and Judah and Judah's the whole region Judah might speak of the whole nation of Israel and not just the southern region of Judah. I Don't know but the siege is going to be bigger than just the city of Jerusalem They'll probably be layers of the siege in in some way that we can't fully Picture right now that will be clear as we get there But it will start off with the surrounding nations with hostile Middle East nations involved verse 3 It's gonna escalate It's gonna happen in that day. I'll make Jerusalem a heavy stone all the nations when it says people it means nations It's the same word They'll all be involved eventually. So it will start Middle East. It will escalate to international Nobody will be immune from this issue Nations will say you know what? I don't want to weigh in on it but Joe 314 Says the the earth will be in the valley of decision and it will be around the conflict in Jerusalem. There will be spiritual financial Political dynamics it will be impossible not to take a stand Everybody will weigh in at some level and to stand with Jesus's plan For Jerusalem or with the nation's plan for Jerusalem. There won't be a middle ground Now people think well, I'm pretty clever. I think I'll be able to navigate that No, it will I mean from the oil to the food supply to the political Processes to the social infrastructures of the faraway islands of the earth Everybody will be drawn into this conflict Joe 314 it is the valley of decision for the earth And we're already moving in that direction. We're not quite there in fullness, but it's within view that that Conflict is escalating even in our time. I don't think they'll drop bombs on the city Someone says why don't they do that just take over the city because the city's sacred to both sides They want the city they want particular sites and damage They want to kill the people not destroy the city They want the city for their own religious purposes or what? I don't understand at all, but they I mean it's such a little city. You can just bomb and be over with That's not the issue. They want to capture it and control it not eliminate the city They wouldn't eliminate the people in the city But they won't be able to all the nations of the earth with this little army this band But God's supernatural power particularly in that final three and a half years. They won't be able to get the people out With all their might and power they will be frustrated over and over and over again paragraph G There's two word pictures That warn the nation of danger, of course, they won't really pay attention But at least they're warned God in his justice and kindness. He always gives the warning His warnings are mostly not heeded, but he gives them anyway in the name of mercy and in the name of justice He said to touch the city Will be like a cup of drunkenness and a heavy stone. I'm warning you. What does this mean? How do the nation's drink this cup of drunkenness how do they touch this heavy stone And when they try to heave that heavy stone meaning the Jewish people we're going to drive them into the sea They want to heave them off the map Look what it says here in verse 3. They will be cut to pieces. They will be lacerated to pieces They have no idea how heavy that mandate will be and how dangerous it will injure them Because the God of Israel is committed to his purpose with that city and those people So the way they drank the cup and the way they push the stone and become Lacerated by touching it is by having a hostile view towards God's purpose for Jerusalem Number one the cup of drunkenness when they Decide to come against that city And of course the Middle East nations already have but the more people weigh in at whatever level They will become so drunk. I don't mean physically drunk But I mean it will cause them to stagger. It will be such a burden to them They will fall they will be in a stupor. They will be enraged by it They will lose their sense of ability and sense of logic. They will get so intoxicated With the cause their anger their bitterness with all the demon spirits involved The Lord says they'll be like a drunk man. He won't they won't be able to defend themselves Well, they won't be able to stand they'll stumble they'll make mistakes They'll lose their sensibilities. They'll lose their sense of direction. They will be like a drunk man in a fight I Mean if you have to be in a fight Being a fight with a man so drunk He can't stand you're sure to win and he tells the nation's you're gonna be in that kind of position If you touch this city and you don't back off Well, I'm sure they're not paying attention, but they will Because they will in fact lose their sense of orientation They will stumble they will fall and they will not be able to fight back in a way that will cause them to win They will lose Not only that number two That name that city will be like a heavy stone. I mean, it's impossible It'd be like pushing this boulder two or three guys pushing, you know a hundred ton boulder Things not moving beloved that city's not moving into the sea the Jewish people. I mean, it's not gonna happen And not only can the nation's not Moving with all their might it will slice them like razor blades and lacerate them when they try Boy that's a terrifying word picture and The one who gave the warning is the one who stretched out the heavens and formed the earth He goes I'm serious and I have the power to back up my warning top of page 82 well in Zechariah 12 We are only informed the nation's gather We don't know who told them to come and how they got there we only know they show up Well in chapter 14 at the end of the Oracle we find out God is the one that gathered them You know when you read 12, you just think they gathered You read 14 you think ah God sent them there And of course, I have a lot of verses there plenty of the prophets they weigh in on this God is wooing the nation's to a place called Jerusalem that he could Exterminate them and the rebellion and change the governments of the earth in one day The kings of the earth have no idea that's what's happening because while God's Wooing them to their death because they will choose with their own sinful choices to do it for their own sinful motives but at the very same time paragraph I Demons are wooing the nation's there Well, who's wooing them demons or God both? It's more complicated than that Evil man in their anger their bitterness and their greed because there's several verses in Ezekiel Let's say it's the greed of man's heart to take the spoil from the land to steal it from them They want to go to to plunder the land. They have greed in their heart and anger. That's motivating men Demons are involved Angels are involved the Spirit of God's involved. I mean, it's it's something now the demons are bringing the nation's there to take over Jerusalem and exterminate the Jewish people God's calling the nation's there To exterminate the kings of the earth to begin a whole new governmental new world order in one day literally a 24-hour period Can you imagine I? Mean this is unthinkable Never in history have all the kings of the earth been in one city at the same time never one time ever They will all be in the same city at the same time, but not just the Kings their top Military command and their top political cabinets will all be there with them They will be they will be deceived by demons and motivated by God they will all be there And the Lord calls it his day And he changes the earth who would have thought of such a plan. I mean the more I read this I go Jesus Your track record is so good. So I know this is brilliant, but I would have never have figured out a plan like this Well, that's not so surprising. I can't figure out anything like this. So that's not a big deal page 83 top of page 83 Now the battle to all the nations are there It went from a Middle East localized Middle East Siege to now an international siege all the nations are involved There's nations. They didn't want to go it took demons to show the miracles to get them. They go. No, I don't want to do that No, no, my aunt Susie's been warning me about Jerusalem for years. I'm the president now just in case she's right No, no My daughter went to that one internship and she's been telling me about this No demons will actually do miracles to convince them to come so there will be reluctant Kings there And then when the Kings tell their cabinet members and they're taught military Demons have to help convince them to I mean, this is quite a plan Roman number three, they're all there. The horses are there. Somebody says horses. Yeah, they'll be horses Horses Somebody says no the horses are figurative. No, the horses are real I mean when you read the book of Revelation the technology is going to be in a real difficult spot with all the with all Of the destruction going on to the infrastructure of the planet. They will really be horses Plus the number of times I'm not going to go to right now, but they're there Where it talks about the flesh of the horses are eaten by the birds of the air in Revelation 19 Ezekiel 38 In a few moments meaning the next session in Revelation. I mean in Zechariah 14, it says the plague Destroys the horses. It's not talking about something symbolic. They really are destroyed horses are there Well, there's writers on the horses Now what happens is God first strikes the horses with confusion. I mean, there's thousands of them I mean, I don't have a clue but so many I mean We can't even picture the whole land is filled with the armies of the earth From up north to far south. I mean, it's a military Operation they gathered at Armageddon up. There's a military staging area They're all over the land in mass completely mobilized They are produced a siege around every possible population center. There is in Israel It's not just one little circle around one city and they're just out there with their little lanterns I mean, it's layered all through the land Horses are everywhere. Now. They're they're going through their military procedures and they're marching around and all of a sudden the horses The guys go smack that horse. What are you doing? His horse is doing the same thing and his horse to do they're going all the horses are going crazy all over place I mean, can you imagine a hundred thousand horses? Let's let me make up that number just to make the picture graphic. It might be more than who knows or less They're all going crazy Who would have thought of that I Read this I go Jesus you're brilliant. I mean you never sleep. You don't need to sleep. You think all the time This is a brilliant plan Then the guys on the horse, they're kind of slapping him around. I don't ride horses. Maybe you don't slap my other try Hey get with it Something like that. I The writer goes mad Then the horses going what's going on with that guy? They're all going mad all of them. I mean all their friends are the horses are running around and Children of Israel going something's going on something weird is happening out there. It's really weird This is real. I mean, it's bizarre to think about but it's real. I want you to see this for a moment Well, it gets worse than that He strikes the horses with blindness first, they're crazy now, they're blind But the guy on him's kicking him because he's mad but the horse is blind they're crashing into each other They're falling over. They're tripping in valleys. I mean, it's a bizarre thing Did you imagine a hundred thousand crazy horses being spurred by? insane riders and the horses are blind running into buildings and trees and We need some guy with some movie anointing to get this thing I Want to get one these movie anointing guys and lay out my version of the end times with detail I don't know if the kind of like it, but I bet it would sell This is only one little scene I mean, there's lots of these scenes when you go through Ezekiel and Isaiah and the book of Revelation and Joel I mean, there's a lot. I mean it's graphic what God has told us about The end time scenario if we took time to actually read it and study it Well, there's panic everywhere The panic is developed in chapter 14 at the end of this Oracle Number two the reason this is happening because God has opened his eyes on the situation Remember back in chapter 9 verse 8 he promised them I will in Camp around you with angels and I will open my eyes on you Well when God opens his eyes When he's when Jesus stared at John the Apostle his best friend John felt like a dead man when he looked eye to eye to Jesus in his glory when that man fixes his gaze on the Antichrist he Paralyzes him and completely consumes him when he fixes his eyes on that situation It will be terrifying for the enemy He's got a powerful gaze Well paragraph B Let's go to the next scene and there's so many scenes that we don't have insight in but the Lord gives us strategic pieces of the drama Verse 5 the governors of Judah, that's the main leaders I assume this is the political and the military leaders probably combined because Life isn't just normal like it would normally be I mean, they're all being surrounded in probably the military political leaders are functioning together They say in their heart The anointing of gods on the guys living in Jerusalem because these guys are outside the city but they're saying all this horses running into buildings and guys going crazy and the guys in Judah this region around going I Think the Spirit of God's helping out those guys in Jerusalem so they get encouraged The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in the Lord meaning the anointing on them and the resolve of the people of the city It's an inspiration to the other Jewish leaders around the land Verse 6 now the Lord releases his supernatural anointing He's gonna now anoint the leaders in Judah They've been watching the horse thing going on and they're going wow the power of God's really on those guys They're all inspired But now the governors of Judah God makes them like a fire pan in a woodpile now a fire pan is like you got this container with burning coals in it and A woodpile with dry wood It's like a whole bunch of people with burning coals dropping coals on dry wood Now that's a scene that they would have understood in Zechariah's day real. Well that Combustive situation will explode in a moment It doesn't take much if much time or Anything for coals to ignite dry wood and I mean there's a bonfire in a moment God's anointing the leaders of Judah to have that kind of military impact on these surrounding armies and beloved This is pre second coming Jesus hasn't come yet. He doesn't come to verse 10 This is that three and a half year period. I'm sure there's some seasons It's more intensified than others, but it's building to a conclusion. The report is going around the world I just can't I can't imagine when they tell the crazy horse stories around the world What happened to Billy I heard he went to war in Jerusalem. He went nuts one day I don't know his horse crashed into a wall. They both we lost them both. I Thought he was the champion horse rider. He just went crazy I don't know the horse just go and he was screaming the whole time and that's what we heard. We lost Billy I Mean the stories will go around the world Your name's Billy. Don't take that personal He'll make them like a fiery torch in sheaves Could you imagine having a burning torch and going into a haystack with a burning torch? effortless sudden with ease Combustive that's how the anointing will be working on the children of Israel in this battle This is again before Jesus even shows up. His eyes are on there. He's stirring things up This is so dramatic Let's look at paragraph C Verse 7 the Lord will save the tents of Judah first He's gonna make them like fire consuming. This is a military issue Because he wants the royal house of David the royal family so to speak However, they identify that I don't know and the people that live in the city of Jerusalem The inhabitants of Jerusalem and I wonder if all the inhabitants of Jerusalem will be Jewish certainly the vast majority There might be some Gentiles in there. I Know some of you guys you'll try to sneak in somehow. I don't know who will be there Be very dangerous But the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that's this generic description that's distinct from the royal family of David However, that's determined. I don't know but it's two distinct categories that are emphasized throughout rebel I mean a Zechariah 12 and I just wonder who they are well, God lets the guys in the region when the decisive victories early on So that the guys with greater prestige in the nation, they don't they have unity together Because the natural assumption would be God would do the most glorious things in Jerusalem And the others would be in a secondary role But the Lord says I'm coming back for a unified nation a nation I'm going to unify them and even the way I pour out my spirit of power I'm going to be working for the full restoration of the of the nation itself. Jesus is multitasking as Auburn said earlier He didn't operate on many levels, but he's thinking every detail through he's even thinking of the unity afterwards the way he allows the battle to unfold top of page 84 Now the anointing of the Spirit touches Jerusalem even more than it was on The leaders of Judah now the inhabitants inside the city Again, it's this generic Inhabitants of Jerusalem. I assume the majority are Jewish, but I'm not concluded. They all are I don't know Just that kind of nondescript title seems to leave the door open Who knows? But the most feeble one the guy He Doesn't like war he doesn't do guns He doesn't like conflict the most non warlike person Will become anointed like the great hero David. I mean it will just be like Suddenly, they're emboldened and there's power. They're going hey, this is working Well, I mean if the horses are blind and the guys are crazy. They're crashing the walls that helps I Bolsters your confidence I'm doing something good today but then the Those of the family line of David or something like that the house of David exactly what that means again It's hard to know exactly but it is a clear distinction of this premier Group of people called the house of David they will be anointed like the angel of the Lord It will even be a greater anointing Now the Lord knew the verse 8 greater anointing was coming that's why he gave the guys outside the city the anointing first Back in verse 6 because he knew that something else was happening, but the nation's around they're so perplexed I mean, they're probably all those generals are getting fired every day. They're going back to headquarters Can't you take this ragtag group of people get the horses in order? Come on. It's not that big a deal These guys don't even have weapons. Why can't you break into that city? Starve them out. Well every time we starve them out. They multiply the food. They got some name They're using in there that keeps multiplying food. We're hearing stories about it It's the name of Jesus. I just threw that part in okay paragraph II now the Lord talks Now this is the first time the Lord talks in first person in this Oracle It's not I said, it's not Zachariah prophesying the Lord speaks I will seek to destroy all the nations Not I will seek like I'd be to try and see if it goes. Well, that's not what he means He means I have determined. I will not be Set aside from this goal. I'm using my servants That's what I'm doing right now, but I'm on the mission to completely Destroy all the nations gathered in this battle. So be the greatest military reversal in human history. I Mean it will be the greatest military reversal of a small weak army against all the armies and all the fortifications and the power sources and the military resource of the earth and it will be the David and Goliath Showdown on a global level and the little David will win in the name of the Lord It'll be the same showdown just far bigger Most violent battle in human history paragraph F Revelation 19 All the kings of the earth you read it all the whole passage. All the kings are killed all of them Psalm 110 the famous Psalm the David wrote said that when the Messiah goes forth Psalm 110 verse 6 I don't have it on here. He will execute all the kings of the earth the heads of state. He will execute them I don't know what that looks like They're all brought in and they're tried and executed Jesus doesn't come and wave his hand and they all just vanish They got real human bodies and they're really alive when he shows up and he really kills them and Then they have to clean the bodies and bury him. It says in Ezekiel. It takes them seven months to bury the bodies It's real Don't make that symbolic and try to figure out what seven months of burial means. It means seven months of burial I read some of the strangest Brilliant guys who try to explain all this away because they can't bear God having this kind of creative involvement with the affairs of the earth. I Asked one guy go. Why do you explain all the way he goes? It's just ridiculous If this was real I go I would say that's softer. I go if you can do Genesis 1 this is easy and And remember chapter 12 verse 1 they Jesus appeals to the Genesis 1 power and wisdom Before he ever tells the plan so, you know, the plan is up to that kind of power. It's very dramatic page 85 Jesus is still talking He's still in the first person. He only talks in the first person for two sentences in this whole drama of Zechariah 12 It says I First verse 9. I will seek to destroy all the nations. I'm determined I will not be delayed. I will not be sidetracked. I will not be resisted Effectively, I will do this and then verse 10. I will destroy them That's verse 9 and I'm gonna pour out the spirit of power of grace now it goes from physical deliverance verse 3 to 9 to Spiritual deliverance verse 10 on to chapter 13 verse 6 So we've shifted directions from a physical military deliverance. Now. It is a spiritual deliverance It's a spiritual deliverance. That's what's going on because the Spiritual enemy of Israel sin and unbelief is far more dangerous than the political armies of the Antichrist the Antichrist looks for formidable and dangerous and he is but I tell you it's far more dangerous to live in sin and unbelief before the Almighty God and to say no to him. That's far more dangerous So Jesus said I'm gonna pour out the spirit of power on them spirit of grace and supplication They will look upon me face to face then Zechariah speaks in and Here are my notes. We lost a word, but in it just you open your Bible. It says yes They will mourn for him the word. Yes. Somehow I lost it in my in my editing process, but Zechariah goes. Yes, you heard it Jesus said they'll look on me Zachariah said you heard it, right? Yes The whole nation will see him. Yes You heard what he said. I like the Seven times in Zechariah just get your concord. That's kind of fun seven times Zechariah makes a statement or in this case Jesus But Zechariah anticipates it's going what and he says yes, and he says it again. I love it He understands human nature study the seven times. He does that or he double Emphasizes that which seems impossible to believe and he goes. Yes. I really mean that this is the Lord. I love that that human dynamic They will mourn for Jesus when they see him when they see him they won't just say Praise God that delivers here. That won't be their first emotion They will be so excited that there's a person behind these strange Breakthroughs of power that have been going on three and a half years Building in intensity. They know it's the God of Israel. They just don't know who he is And they're excited But the God of Israel the burning bush God is pulling the strings and making these horses run into walls and stuff But to them he's a burning bush To them. He's a kind of glory somewhere They can't really ever see him, but they feel his power Then the shock of their life. It's a man You're going wait wait Moses looked on God and turned away and says you can't man Jesus of Nazareth They will wail like somebody murdered their only son They will go to think All of the centuries we despised him and he stayed loyal to us They will weep all over the land. It will be grief. They cannot fathom the Consequences of having hated him so perfectly for so many centuries when he stayed so loyal to them and Completely engaged with them. They'll go we can't even comprehend. I mean there I have no words To describe the grief that will go throughout the whole land Number one they'll look on him Remember in Acts 9. I have it written down there Jesus stepped out of the heavenly realm right before Saul of Tarsus. He said Saul which is Paul the Apostle Saul Brilliant blazing light Saul goes just like the nation of Israel. I know you're God, but who are you? I can't make it out the glory the power. Who are you? I'm Jesus of Nazareth Paul He falls on the ground trembling beloved. That's a prototype That's a foreshadowing of a national conversion. The same thing is gonna happen to an entire nation I'd tell you they will be overwhelmed with grief that grief will turn into joy in its time But it will be grief that's never been known ever before on the earth in a nation Let's look at middle of page 86 paragraph C There will be great morning That morning will be in the city of Jerusalem It will be like the morning of Haddad Rimman in the plain of Megiddo Megiddo, that's the Armageddon area up north and that Valley this Haddad Rimman is a city up north Now that was a The Prophet was appealing to an event that was well known to Israel Because in that area up north in that Valley that plain of Megiddo The young Josiah King Josiah was mortally wounded in that area and He was a young reformer the Bible says that he obeyed God even like King David did and This young man in his 20s and 30s was reforming the nation I mean in rapid-fire fashion his grandfather Manasseh was one of the most evil kings in Israel's history and he took his grandfather's policies and Threw him all away and was turning the whole nation back to loyalty to God. He's in his 20s He's in his 30s the nation loves him He puts the singers and musicians in place pays them gets them going gets everybody in the nation Reading the Word of God the nation loves this young man, and he's only 39 years old at the prime of youth he's up in this area and he shot in a battle and he suddenly dies and they they have it a National mourning because of that event that became an annual it was in the nation's Regular calendar they would mourn the death of King Josiah and he was wounded in that area The nation of Israel Understood there was no mourning equal to that because David died the nation mourned But he died as an older man This guy died in the prime of his youth and then the nation went bad. It went bad fast It was the greatest loss that Israel ever had in terms of a sudden loss of a leader or tragedy The Spirit of God says the mourning will be like that. It will be a National Lamenting that will even surpass That it will be like it's your own son. That was murdered. Not just the king who was changing the nation Then in verse 12, he says the whole land will mourn. It won't just be the city of Jerusalem Every family will mourn Meaning not just every family. It won't be just a big public funeral where everybody kind of Stimulates one another and she cries so he cries and he cries then she cries and they're all kind of sport No, this is going to be because of their understanding of who Jesus is It's not gonna be kind of a mourning that's kind of passed on one to another that's kind of building by some social dynamics It will be a mourning that's individual matter of fact It says that the wives or the family members will go alone in private. They'll cry out to God It's because of Jesus they understand who he is It says that the house of David in the house of Nathan Let's look at the bottom of 86 paragraph D Where I give a little bit of insight on that The house of David and his son Nathan speaks of the royal family David is the most prominent in the royal family. Of course is David and Nathan represents one of the least prominent So from the greatest to the least of the royal family, they're all mourning. That's the idea Levi and Shema his grandson Levi's clearly the prominent member of the family of the of the priestly family Shema his grandson no one's ever heard of him same idea the most prominent to the least Which means the whole of the priestly family? so what he's saying is Everybody in the governmental political arena the greatest to the least everyone in the spiritual priestly arena the greatest to the least they will all mourn as family members then Individually not just the wives they just highlighted the wives all the individuals meaning the mourning will be universal The mourning will be intense The mourning will be genuine and it will be Intensely private and personal between them and God. I mean, it's such a description of mourning Top of page 87 We'll just go through this next few verses. We'll just touch it briefly I'll just kind of give you the The kind of the a grid of how to understand it then it's pretty self-explanatory Paragraph a Zechariah 13 is continuing the theme of spiritual cleansing But now it goes from the individuals Being radically converted like Saul of Tarsus. I mean Individually encountering Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit every single individual the land The nation is saved in one day. The nation is saved. I mean everybody is saved in one day. This is remarkable These events from chapter 12 on to chapter 13 verse 6. It's all one Chronological storyline it's all going in order then again Chapter 13 7 begins the story again and within they tell it from a different angle the same story It's not another set of a time frame. It's the same events retold again in this Oracle Paragraph B After the nation personally received salvation one by one But all in the same day because Jesus is doing this Saul of Tarsus not to one man to the whole nation He's standing before them this is remarkable then a fountain of cleansing will be opened For sin and uncleanness verse 2 it will be in that day He'll cut off all the idols now There's a lot of idols in the land because the Antichrist religion has been based there with the abomination of desolation The the image of the beast the mark of the beast. I mean, it's been all through the land That land has been polluted with idolatry just to the Antichrist the abomination of desolation worship system God's gonna completely cleanse the land Well number one the Antichrist is thrown into the lake of fire alive. So we got rid of him Number two Satan's thrown into prison right then so we got rid of him. The demons are all gone But all the idol guys, they're not all killed they're going okay Whoa, we have no power all the bad guys that are good guys, but they're the bad guys are all gone They're they're in the lake of fire and stuff. What's going on now those False prophet guys don't just all die There's different responses, I don't want to go into that but they're still alive and the Lord wants to cleanse the land Look what it says at the end of verse 2 he'll cause the false prophets. I mean Jesus is back now He takes the unclean spirit catch that phrase and he drives it off the land I mean with that Antichrist worship system. There was a defiling spirit on that land Jesus cleanses it as the greater Elijah. I Mean what Elijah did to the prophets of Baal and Jezebel Jesus does that a whole nother level and just cleanses idolatry from the land paragraph D Now Zechariah by the spirit of prophecy describes the social situation in relationships We'll just read through this real quick Now if anybody still prophesies you think who would stick this to be false prophecy because all the bad guys Are not dead If anybody still prophesies after this day false prophecy, it's what they're talking about their newly converted mom and dad Will say to them Son, do you realize the new hour we're in on the earth? That old false prophecy with those demons. Ah No more. There's a new leader on the earth that he's really intense about this and we love him if you prophesy We're gonna kill you Because we're not gonna let this evil break out again says right verse 3 They're gonna thrust him through they're gonna kill it. So the guy verse 4 He goes, you know what? I think this thing's right So now he's ashamed of his visions. He's hiding him. He goes who me I don't prophesy. I'll never buy that prophecy stuff No, he is he goes. I know I know I was really never into that. He's wanting to hide his past involvement He won't wear the robe of course hair because That robe of course hair was the garment of the guy that wanted to show himself that he's a true prophet I mean you see guys like that every now and then pop up They come with the Elijah garment on and say oh, I guess Elijah's here. That's the idea He's not really here, but that's what they're trying to make you think well these false prophets will have the guard But they go we're burning that guard. We're getting rid of it have no more use for that Then a guy verse 5 will question him and say no, I remember you You were really one of the fiery guys And he'll say no. No. No, I'm not a prophet. He goes matter of fact I'm a farmer. I've been a farmer since a kid. I've been out working with cows. I didn't go to false prophecy school I didn't have time for that. I'm a hard-working guy. I Don't know I think you were no, I never had time for that never had any space in my in my schedule He's covering it up. That's what he's doing Every since I was a kid I worked on the farm. I never went to that prophecy school that no you got the wrong guy The one will say wait a second verse 6. What are those wounds in your arms? your side because in the Old Testament and this will Inevitably Evidently happen again like the false prophets of Balaam first Kings 18 with Elijah those false prophets would go and whip themselves up in a fervor cut themselves gashed himself to try to Incite the spirit realm to be more involved with them They would have all these wounds and they would show the wounds off to prove how Genuine and sincere they were in their prophecy realm because they thought it was true prophecy Well, the problem is that guy did it he still got those wounds from those demonic rituals to the wounds Yeah, he goes. Oh, yeah, I was at my friend's house and I had a horrible accident. It was a terrible thing There's the farm next door. He goes that you know, they told me not to go over there But I did and they just like beat me up. It's a horrible thing. Yeah, I get it The point being the cleansing will be so complete Nobody will want to associate with anything that has to do with darkness. That's the point. Amen. Let's stand
