 Time Enough - Be Serious

Time enough - be serious.

Christ must be seen as all precious in our sight - His reality - in order to make all else seem so much the lesser. One's own longings and actions are tail signs of what they truly honor and worship. If you say you love the Lord your God, yet spend all your time on Facebook (just one entertaining idol), time which far out exceeds your Bible reading, then your profession may be false - at best your in a season in need of great repentance.

You see the "love of the world" cannot be overcome until our eyes are opened to the reality of Christ, even in its beginning stages, and we embrace Him. For His "burdens are light" and He is the most precious of rare jewels. Until we long for Him, we will not overcome the love of the world. Morality and good thoughts, as seen in man's eyes, are still nothing but dead rot in comparison to knowing and walking with Him.

When we get to this place in our lives where we truly desire to be godly and seriously desire to know Him more, then the cares of this world, all the emotional humanism of false worship, all the works to be good, will fall like dung to the wayside. Let us not be fooled, no true desire to be holy (that is set apart unto God [ a simple description]) and no setting our sights, being renewed by His Word, onto the living one true God, we will remain in many bondages of fear, doubt and under worldly strongholds of various kinds.

"In a word, if the way to disengage the heart from the positive love of one great and ascendant object is to fasten it in positive love to another, then it is not by exposing the worthlessness of the former, but by addressing to the mental eye the worth and excellence of the later, that all things are to be done away, and all things are to become new." Thomas Chalmers

May the Lord work powerfully in our lives, for His glory, the edification of His bride, and the reaching of those who are still lost in the world.

Blessings,
Jeremy
