With so may "political" threads going it seems obvious, to me at least, that there is WAY, WAY, WAY to much energy being expended by many christians on things that simply are of no eternal importance. Not a single Bible verse can I find that tells me to get politically activated. In fact quiet the opposite. Our king; kingdom and government are of another place and world.Brought to mind this great piece of lyricism. Touched my heart...maybe it will yours as well.ROSE COLORED STAIN GLASS WINDOWSAnother sleepy Sunday, safe within the wallsOutside a dying world in desperation callsBut no-one hears the cries, or knows what they're aboutThe doors are locked within, or is it from, without...Looking through rose colored stained glass windowsNever allowing the world to come inSeeing no evil and feeling no painMaking the light as it comes from within, so dim...Out on the doorstep lay the masses in decayIgnore them long enough, maybe they'll go awayWhen you have so much you think, you have so much to loseYou think you have no lack, when you're really destituteLooking through rose colored stained glass windows - stained glass windows!Never allowing the world to come in - they won't lemmie come in!Seeing no evil and feeling no pain - no feel, no pain!Making the light as it comes from within, so dim - the light's so dim!- so dim - the light's so dim!Looking through rose colored stained glass windowsNever allowing the world to come inSeeing no evil and feeling no painMaking the light as it comes from within, so dim, so dim!Bob HartmanThis is such an accurate depiction of what the church has become as it wallows in a political conversation that does little more than destroy its credibility with the world. No wonder much of the world has now discredited the church... look at what they see as an example.
I remember the song from the '80s.Sadly, things are now worse than they were then.
Great song. Message is still true.
