If Jesus came to your houseTo spend some time with you,If He came unexpected,I wonder what you'd do.Oh, I know you'd give your nicest roomTo such an honored guestAnd all the food you'd give to HimWould be the very best. And you would keep assuring HimYou're glad to have Him there--That serving Him in your homeIs joy beyond compare. But when you saw Him coming,Would you meet Him at the doorWith arms outstretched in welcomeTo your heavenly visitor?Or would you have to change your clothesBefore you let Him inOr hide some magazinesAnd put the Bible where they'd been Would you hide your worldly musicand put some hymn books out?Could you let Jesus walk rightin, or would you rush about? And I wonder - if the Saviourspent a day or two with you,Would you go right on doing, thethings you always do?Would you go right on saying, thethings you always say?Or would life for you continueas it does from day to day?Would you take Jesus with youeverywhere you go?Or would you maybe change yourplans for just a day or so?Would you be glad to have Himmeet your closest friends?Or would you hope they stay away, until His visit ends?Would you be glad to have Himstay forever on and on?Or would you sigh with greatrelief when He at last was gone?It might be interesting to know, the things that you would do,If Jesus came in person, to spendsome time with you.

Thank you for the poem LiveforGod, and for the Keith Green songs ce4! I had never heard them before! I was especially touched by the first one! It is such a heart-cry for the lost and call for the asleep church! I decided to post the lyrics here. It's sobering lyrics, especially when it's heard singing by Keith Green...Asleep in the lightDo you see, do you seeAll the people sinking downDon't you care, don't you careAre you gonna let them drownHow can you be do numbNot to care if they comeYou close your eyesAnd pretend the job's done"Oh bless me Lord, bless me Lord"You know it's all I ever hearNo one aches, no one hurtsNo one even sheds one tearBut He cries, He weeps, He bleedsAnd He cares for your needsAnd you just lay backAnd keep soaking it inOh can't you see it's such a sincause he brings people to you doorAnd you turn them awayAs you smile and say"God bless you, be at peace"And all heaven just weeps!cause jesus came to you doorYou've left him out on the streetsOpen up open upAnd give yourself awayYou see the need, you hear the criesSo how can you delayGod's calling and you're the oneBut like Jonah you runHe's told you to speakBut you keep holding it inOh can't you see it's such sinThe world is sleeping in the darkThat the church just can't fightcause it's asleep in the lightHow can you be so deadWhen you've been so well fedJesus rose from the graveAnd you, you can't even get out of bedOh, jesus rose from the deadCome on get out of your bedHow can you be so numbNot to care if they comeYou close your eyesAnd pretend the jobs doneYou close your eyesAnd pretend the jobs doneDon't close your eyesDon't pretend the jobs doneCome away, come away, come away with me my loveCome away, come away, come away with me my love
