1 Sermon Illustrations on Joy in Generosity

1 illustration

Joy in generosity highlights the deep happiness and blessing found in giving to others, reflecting Christ's own selflessness. This theme often uses images of open hands, overflowing cups, or radiant light to symbolize the abundant joy that accompanies generous acts. Scripture reminds us that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).

More Blessed To Give Than Receive

It is more blessed to give than to receive, bringing joy to the giver.

A gentleman called on Mr. H—, to solicit his aid towards the erection of a Sunday school room in a poor and populous district. Mr. H. contributed, and the gentleman began to thank him for his contribution, when he prevented him by saying, "I beg you will give me no thanks: I thank you for giving me an opportunity of doing what is good for myself. I am thankful to God for the experience I have had, that 'it is more blessed to give than to receive.'"
