Founded as the diocese of Reno on 27 March 1931. Name changed to the diocese of Reno-Las Vegas on 13 October 1976. The territory was split and the name changed back to the diocese of Reno on 21 March 1995. Suffragen of the archdiocese of San Francisco. See also
