The Greek Testament
Henry Alford (1810–1871) was an English churchman, theologian, and Dean of Canterbury. His four-volume Greek Testament (1849–1861) is widely regarded as one of the finest critical commentaries on the New Testament in the English language. Working directly from the Greek text, Alford combined rigorous philological analysis with reverent theological insight, making his work indispensable to serious students of the New Testament.
