01.03.04. THIRD WEDNESDAY OF ADVENT
THIRD WEDNESDAY OF ADVENT Read Matthew 2:9-10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. Do you ever get sidetracked from time to time? Interruptions come our way so often, we learn to expect them. Opposition comes once in a while, and we learn to ignore it. Sometimes the temptation to change our focus seems like the right thing to do. The Magi heard the king, but then they went on THEIR way. What an example to us. The most important man in the entire area gives them an offer and entices them in secret to change their focus. It could have happened, but thank the Lord it didn’t!
What was the result? Rejoicing! If in your pilgrimage toward Christmas this year you discover the temptation to listen to the voices of compromise, don’t. Set your mind on the things above. Chart your course by the light of the King of Kings. Settle for nothing less.
Confess the times when you have allowed distractions to prevent you from truly worshiping God this year.
