4. Salvation by faith, not works For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.
Rom 1:17 For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them. Now that no man is justified by the law before God, is evident: for, The righteous shall live by faith;
Gal 3:10-11 But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared, not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
Tit 3:4-5 for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, that no man should glory.
They said therefore unto him, What must we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
