The Fruit of Nature

1 min read · Chapter 57 of 87

Isa. 1:5, 6.
THE human heart is like a tree
Implanted in the soil,
Whereon men hope in time to see
The fruit of patient toil;
They dig and dung it, care bestow,
And tend it more and more;
At length they gather fruit―when, lo,
‘Tis rotten to the core.
