Matthew 23

1 Then spake Jesus to the people and to his disciples, saying, 3 whatsoever they tell you to observe; but do not ye according to their works, for they say and do not:} 4 will not put a finger to them:} 8 Christ, and ye are all brethren.} 9 upon earth Father; for one is your Father, in heaven:} 16 blind guides, who say, If any swear by the temple, it is nothing;} 17 swear by the gold of the temple, is binding. Foolish and blind for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?} 18 swear by the altar, it is nothing; but if any one swear by the gift upon it, he is bound.} 20 upon it:} 23 mint, and anise, and cummin, but neglect the weightier matters of the law, judgement, mercy, and fidelity: these ye ought to practise, and not to omit the others.} 27 filthiness;} 28 righteous, but within are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.} 30 the blood of the prophets:} 34 of them ye will kill and crucify, and of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:} 36 shall come upon this generation.} 37 wings, and ye would not!} 39 He that cometh in the name of the Lord.}
