But Jesus, having stooped down, was writing with His finger on the ground. 7 And, as they continued asking Him, He, having raised Himself up, said to them, 8 And, again stooping down, He was writing with His finger on the ground. 9 And they, having heard , were going out, one by one, from the eldest to the last; and Jesus was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the midst. 10 And Jesus, having lifted Himself up, said to her, 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, ] 12 Again, therefore, Jesus spake to them, saying, 13 The Pharisees, therefore, said to Him, “Thou testifiest concerning Thyself; Thy testimony is not true." 14 Jesus answered and said to them, 18 Who testify concerning Myself; and the Father, Who sent Me, testifieth concerning Me.”} 19 They said, therefore, to Him, “Where is Thy Father?” Jesus answered, 20 These words He spake in the treasury, while teaching in the temple; and no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come. 21 He said, therefore, again to them, 22 The Jews, therefore, said, “Will He kill Himself?” because He said, 23 And He said to them, 24 , ye will die in your sins.”} 25 They said, therefore, to Him, “Who art Thou?” Jesus said to them, 27 They perceived not that He was speaking to them of the Father. 28 Jesus, therefore, said, ; and, of Myself, I do nothing, but, as the Father taught Me, I speak these things.} 30 As He spake these things, many believed on Him. 31 Jesus, therefore, said to those Jews who had believed on Him, 33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s seed, and to no one have we at any time been in bondage; how sayest Thou, 34 Jesus answered them, 38 father.} 39 They answered and said to Him, “Our father is Abraham.” Jesus saith to them, 41 They say to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one FatherâGod." 42 Jesus said to them, 43 because ye cannot hear My word.} 44 father the Devil; and the desires of your father ye wish to do. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own; because he is a liar, and the father of it.} 48 The Jews answered and said to Him, “Say we not well that Thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?" 49 Jesus answered, 52 The Jews said to Him, “Now we know that Thou hast a demon! Abraham and the prophets died; and Thou sayest, 53 Art Thou greater than our father Abraham, who died? and the prophets died? Whom makest Thou Thyself?" 54 Jesus answered, 57 The Jews, therefore, said to Him, “Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast Thou seen Abraham?" 58 Jesus said to them, 59 They took up stones, therefore, to cast at Him; but Jesus was concealed, and went out of the temple.
