Psalms 98

1 Sing [with joyful music] to the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] a new [fresh, recently created] song, for He has done [accomplished, made] wonders [marvelous things, amazing works]; His right hand [the right hand or side; the south] and holy [set apart, sacred] arm [the arm as stretched out; strength, might, power] have gained [won, accomplished] Him the victory [salvation, triumph]. word study 2 The LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] has proclaimed [made known, declared] His salvation [victory, deliverance from trouble] and revealed [uncovered, openly shown] His righteousness [justice, moral virtue] to the nations [Gentiles, non-Hebrew peoples, the world]. word study 3 He has remembered [not forgotten, kept in mind] His love [kindness, mercy, faithfulness] and faithfulness [loyalty, trustworthiness] to the house [family, descendants] of Israel [Jacob’s descendants]; all [every part, the entire] the ends [farthest reaches, extremities] of the earth [land, world] have seen [looked upon, witnessed] the salvation [deliverance, victory] of our God [Elohim, the supreme One]. word study 4 Make a joyful noise [with triumphant shout, sounding with a loud voice] to the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], all [everything, the whole] the earth [land, territory, or region]; break forth [in joyful sound, with music or singing]—let your cry [shout of joy, loud noise] ring out, and sing [make music, with praise and celebration] praises [songs of joy, triumph]! word study 5 Sing praises [with joyful music, melodious song] to the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] with the lyre [a stringed musical instrument, harp], in melodious song [with a singing voice, voice of melody] with the harp [a musical instrument]. word study 6 With [wind instruments, shalmes] trumpets and the blast of the [ram’s] ram’s horn [sound of cornet, voice of a cornet] shout [make a joyful noise, sing in happiness] for joy before [in the presence of] the LORD [Yehovah], the King [royal ruler, sovereign]. word study 7 Let the sea [roar, be thundering] resound, and all that fills [is full of, has a large quantity of] it, the world [earth, all inhabitants], and all who dwell [sit, remain, abide] in it. word study 8 Let the rivers [floods, streams] clap their hands [palms], let the mountains [hills] sing together [unitedly, in harmony] for joy [shout for joy, overcome with praise] word study 9 before the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God], for He comes [is coming, will arrive] to judge [to govern, vindicate, or punish] the earth [the land, the world]. He will judge [govern, vindicate] the world [the earth and its inhabitants] with righteousness [justice, moral integrity] and the peoples [nations, tribes] with equity [uprightness, fairness]. word study
