1 Why do you boast [take pride, glory in] of evil [mischief, wrongdoing], O mighty man [powerful one, strong leader]? The loving devotion [kindness, goodness] of God [the supreme Creator, loving Father] endures [lasts, remains] all day long [continually, daily]. word study 2 Your tongue [plots to make people suffer, deviseth] devises destruction [mischiefs, very wickedness] like a sharpened razor [sharp blade, cutting words], O worker [one who works] of deceit [deceitfully, with cunning and guile]. word study 3 You love [have a strong affection for] evil [bad, morally wrong] more than good [what is right, righteous], falsehood [lying, deceit] more than speaking [telling, proclaiming] truth [what is real, accurate].
