1 Hallelujah [rejoice]! Praise the LORD [Yehovah] from the heavens [the visible universe, the sky]; praise Him [with joyful adoration] in the highest places [the lofty heights, the elevated realms]. word study 2 Praise Him [to celebrate], all [every single one] His angels [messengers, heavenly beings]; praise Him [extol, magnify], all [every single one] His heavenly [spiritual, celestial] hosts [armies, vast multitude]. word study 3 Praise Him [praise ye, give praise to], O sun [the celestial body] and moon [the natural satellite]; praise Him [praise ye], all [everything] you shining [stars of light, bright] stars [round or shining celestial bodies]. word study 4 Praise Him, O highest heavens, and you waters [that be above, which are over] above the [visible] skies. word study 5 Let them praise [celebrate, extol] the name [identity, character] of the LORD [Yehovah, the Lord God], for He [the Creator] gave the command [spoke, appointed] and they were created [brought into existence, made]. word study 6 He established [set in place, firmly fixed] them forever [for all eternity, perpetually] and ever [always, without end]; He issued [gave, ordained] a decree [statute, law] that will never [not at all] pass away [be abolished, come to an end]. word study 7 Praise [celebrate, glorify] the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] from [out of, originating from] the earth [land, soil, or ground], all [every, everything] great [huge, enormous] sea creatures [dragons, sea-monsters, or jackals] and [including, along with] ocean depths [the deep, the abyss, or subterranean waters], word study 8 lightning [fire] and hail [a sign of God’s judgment], snow [white and pure] and clouds [vapors, smoke], powerful [stormy, tempestuous] wind fulfilling [doing, obeying] His word [command, decree], word study 9 mountains [hills] and all [everything, the entirety] hills [small hills], fruit [the product of the ground, spiritual fruit] trees [strong and firm, like a tree or wooden plank] and all [everything, the entirety] cedars [known for strength and durability, like the cedar wood used in Solomon’s temple], word study 10 wild animals [beasts, living creatures] and all cattle [livestock, domesticated animals], crawling creatures [creeping things, reptiles] and flying birds [fowl, winged creatures], word study 11 kings [earthly rulers, monarchs] of the earth [land, territory] and all [every, entire] peoples [nations, communities], princes [leaders, chiefs] and all [every, entire] rulers [judges, governors] of the earth [world, domain], word study 12 young men [chosen or select individuals] and maidens [virgins, or brides], old [elderly, aged] and young [youths, from infancy to adolescence] together [with, in unity, as one]. word study 13 Let them praise [give glory to, extol] the name [identity, honor, character] of the LORD [Yehovah, the supreme God], for His name [reputation, fame] alone [exclusively, uniquely] is exalted [elevated, lifted up]; His splendor [glory, majesty] is above [surpassing, transcending] the earth [land, territory] and the heavens [sky, spiritual realm]. word study 14 He has raised up [exalted, lifted] a horn [a horn; a hill or peak] for His people [nation, those belonging to Him], the praise [a song of worship] of all [everything, every single one] His saints [pious ones, faithful followers], of Israel [God’s chosen people], a people [nation, community] near [close, intimate] to Him [in relationship, proximity].
