Psalms 111
BSA1 Hallelujah [praise the Lord]! I will give thanks [praise, express gratitude] to the LORD [Yehovah, the Lord God] with all [every part of] my heart [innermost being, mind, will, and emotions] in the council [gathering, assembly] of the upright [just, righteous, Jashar] and in the assembly [congregation, crowd, company]. word study 2 Great [magnificent, of immense importance] are the works [deeds, actions] of the LORD [Yehovah, the self-existent God]; they are pondered [studied, sought out] by all [everyone, everything] who delight [take pleasure, have joy] in them [these wonderful things]. word study 3 Splendid [glorious, majestic, full of honor] and majestic [honor, glory, beauty] is His work [deeds, actions, accomplishments]; His righteousness [justice, virtue, morality] endures [stands, remains, lasts] forever [for all eternity, perpetually, without end]. word study 4 He has caused [made to be remembered, established] His wonders [wonderful works, miraculous deeds] to be remembered [kept in mind, commemorated]; the LORD [Yehovah, the self-existent God] is gracious [full of pity, merciful] and compassionate [merciful, full of sympathy]. word study 5 He provides [sustains, feeds] food [prey, nourishment] for those who [reverently] fear [are in awe of] Him; He remembers [keeps in mind, recalls] His covenant [promise, agreement] forever [always, to the age]. word study 6 He has shown [demonstrated, declared openly] His people [nation, Amaw] the power [strength] of His works [deeds] by giving [to give, put, set] them the inheritance [heritage] of the nations [Gentiles, Goyim, heathen]. word study 7 The works [deeds, actions] of His hands [an open hand; strength, a side or share] are truth [faithfulness, stability] and justice [righteous judgment]; all [everything, every aspect] His precepts [commandments, laws] are trustworthy [faithful, reliable]. word study 8 They are upheld [sustained, supported] forever [for perpetuity, to eternity] and ever [always, without end], enacted [established, made] in truth [faithfulness, stability] and uprightness [righteousness, justice]. word study 9 He has sent [delivered, rescued] redemption [salvation, rescue from bondage] to His people [nation, those belonging to Him]; He has ordained [commanded, appointed] His covenant [promise, agreement] forever [for all eternity, always]; holy [set apart, sacred] and awesome [feared, revered] is His name [reputation, character]. word study 10 The fear [reverence, awe] of the LORD [Yehovah, The covenant Name of God] is the beginning [first, starting point] of wisdom [skill, prudence, good judgment]; all [everything, every person] who follow [obey, keep] His precepts [commands, laws] gain [acquire, obtain] rich [abundant, plentiful] understanding [intelligence, insight].
