Job 32

BSA

1 So these [specific, aforementioned] three [a quantity of three, thrice] men [male individuals, humans] stopped [ceased, came to an end] answering [responding, making music] Job [the patriarch, a righteous man], because he [as a person, an individual] was righteous [just, having integrity] in his [belonging to him] own eyes [his perspective, his understanding]. word study 2 This kindled [burned, was ignited] the anger [wrath, indignation] of Elihu [He is my God, a friend of Job] son of Barachel [God blesses] the Buzite [a descendant of Buz, meaning contempt], of the family [clan, tribe] of Ram. He burned [was incensed, furious] with anger [zeal, strong emotion] against Job [a patriarch famous for his patience] for justifying [declaring righteous, making right] himself [his soul, his inner being] rather than [instead of, more than] God [Elohim, the supreme One], word study 3 and he burned [was incensed, deeply angry] with anger [fierce indignation, zeal] against Job’s three [a quantity of three] friends [neighbors, companions] because they had failed [not found, were unable] to refute [give an answer to, respond to] Job, and yet had condemned [declared wicked, found guilty] him. word study 4 Now Elihu [a younger friend, a Godly companion] had waited [patiently, in silence] to speak [with words of correction and guidance] to Job [the patriarch, a man of great faith] because the others [his elder friends, the respected ones] were older [more aged, with greater life experience] than he [Elihu, the youngest]. word study 5 But when he saw [perceived, looked after] that the three [thrice, a quantity of] men [individuals, males] had no further [additional, more] reply [answer, response], his anger [wrath, strong emotion] was kindled [incensed, burned fiercely]. word study 6 So Elihu [the son of Barachel, a Buzite] son of Barachel the Buzite declared: “I am [considered] young [inexperienced, little] in years, while you are [very] old [aged, experienced]; that is why I was [extremely] timid [afraid, fearful] and afraid [to speak, to express my opinion] to tell you what I know [my knowledge, my thoughts]. word study 7 I thought [believed, considered] that age [days, multitude of years] should speak [declare, teach], and many years [a multitude of years, a long time] should teach [impart, give out] wisdom [prudence, good judgment, spiritual insight]. word study 8 But there is a spirit [breath of life, the wind] in a man, the breath [inspiration, spirit] of the Almighty [Shadday, all-powerful God], that gives him understanding [discernment, wisdom, to separate mentally and know]. word study 9 It is not [certainly not, by no means] only the old [elderly, aged ones] who are wise [have good judgment, act intelligently], or the elderly [aged, senior ones] who understand [discern, know with their mind] justice [righteous judgment]. word study 10 Therefore [so, thus, in agreement] I say [declare, speak], ‘Listen [hearken, give attention] to me; I too [also, in addition] will declare [explain, show] what I know [my knowledge, opinion, understanding].’ word study 11 Indeed [behold, look], I waited [was patient, trusted] while you spoke; I listened [gave ear, heard attentively] to your reasoning [wise sayings, knowledge]; as you searched [examined closely, sought out] for words [speech, topics], word study 12 I paid you full attention [with careful consideration, to understand]. But no one proved Job [the patriarch, a man of faith] wrong; not one of you rebutted [convinced, or answered] his arguments [words, or sayings, expressing his thoughts]. word study 13 So do not claim [lest you say, beware that you say], ‘We have found [discovered, attained] wisdom [skill, prudence, good judgment]; let God [the supreme Strength, Power] [not a man, but the divine], not man [a human, mortal], refute [drive away, disprove] him.’ word study 14 But Job has [not spoken directly to, nor personally addressed] not directed his words against me, and I will not answer him with your arguments [speeches, or words]. word study 15 Job’s friends [are amazed, they fear] are dismayed [completely broken or shattered], with no more [nothing left] to say; words [speech, topics] have escaped [been removed, left off] them [from their minds]. word study 16 Must I wait [to wait patiently, to remain silent], now that they are silent [no longer speaking, still], now that they stand [remain standing, in a state of inaction] and no longer reply [do not answer, give no response]? word study 17 I [also] too will answer [respond, declare my opinion]; yes [indeed, certainly], I will declare [explain, show] what I know [my knowledge, understanding]. word study 18 For [because of this reason] I am full [completely filled, overflowing] of words [speech, topics, subjects], and my spirit [breath of life, inner being] within me [in my belly, in my deepest emotions] compels [constrains, presses upon] me [urges me to speak]. word study 19 Behold [look, take notice], my belly [womb, inner being] is like [similar to, comparable with] unvented [not opened, sealed] wine [fermented wine, intoxicating drink]; it is about [on the verge, ready] to burst [break open, explode] like [in the manner of, similar to] a new [fresh, recently created] wineskin [container for wine, bag]. word study 20 I must speak [to express my thoughts, to communicate] and find relief [be refreshed, take breath]; I must open [to engrave, to carve out] my lips [language, the edge of my being] and respond [to answer, to sing, to make music]. word study 21 I will be [not show favor to, respect] partial [biased, prejudiced] to no one, nor will I [refuse to, not] flatter [give flattering titles to, praise excessively] any man [person, individual]. word study 22 For [because of this reason] I do not know [am unaware, lack understanding] how to flatter [give flattering titles, praise excessively], or [lest, in case] my Maker [Creator, the one who formed me] would remove [take away, lift up] me in an instant [suddenly, in a little time]. word study
