As believers, we are called to honor God with our physical bodies, recognizing they are temples of the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we are reminded that our bodies belong to God, and in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, we are warned against defiling them. The Old Testament, such as Leviticus 19:28, also provides guidance on treating our bodies with respect, while Romans 12:1-2 urges us to offer ourselves as living sacrifices, using our bodies to worship and serve God. By doing everything to the glory of God, as 1 Corinthians 10:31 instructs, we can live a life that honors Him.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.
Do you not know that you yourselves are God’s temple, and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
You must not make any cuts in your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.
No, I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but from the world. The world is passing away, along with its desires; but whoever does the will of God remains forever.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
