16 Bible Verses on Tragedy

16 verses

In a fallen world, suffering and hardship are inevitable, yet the Bible offers comfort and hope to those experiencing tragedy. Jesus Himself promised that His followers would face tribulation, but assured them that He has overcome the world (John 16:33). The Psalms remind us that God is near to the brokenhearted, and the prophets declare His mission to bind up the wounded and comfort the mournful, as seen in Isaiah 61. Ultimately, believers are called to trust in God's sovereignty and leave vengeance to Him, as instructed in Romans 12:19, rather than seeking revenge or becoming embittered.
