5 Bible Verses on Ridicule

5 verses

When believers face scorn or mockery for their faith, they can take comfort in God's presence and protection. The apostle Peter encourages Christians to rejoice when they suffer for the name of Christ, as this brings blessings and glory (1 Peter 4:14). The Psalms remind us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit, as seen in Psalms 34. Additionally, Jesus teaches that knowing the truth sets us free, and Paul's letters, such as Romans 8, remind us that we are no longer condemned, giving us confidence in the face of ridicule.

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him from them all. He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
John 8:32
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Who is the man who delights in life, who desires to see good days? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceitful speech. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are inclined to their cry. But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to wipe out all memory of them from the earth. Evil will slay the wicked, and the haters of the righteous will be condemned. The LORD redeems His servants, and none who take refuge in Him will be condemned.
