12 Bible Verses on Remarriage After Divorce

12 verses

Scripture teaches that marriage is a sacred bond between two people, and its dissolution is not taken lightly. In Matthew 19:6, Jesus emphasizes the permanence of marriage, while also acknowledging the possibility of divorce. The apostle Paul provides guidance for believers who have been divorced, stating in 1 Corinthians 7:39 that a widow or divorced person is free to remarry, but only in the Lord. Additionally, Jesus' teachings in Matthew 5:32 and Luke 16:18 caution against divorce and remarriage, except in cases of unfaithfulness, highlighting the importance of careful consideration and righteous living in such situations.
