Scripture acknowledges the weight of guilt and shame that can burden humanity, yet offers hope for relief and redemption. Through confession and repentance, as seen in 1 John 1:9, believers can experience forgiveness and cleansing from sin. The prophets, such as Isaiah and Micah, speak of God's desire to remove shame and cast sins into the depths of the sea, as in Micah 7:19 and Isaiah 54:4. Meanwhile, 1 Corinthians 10:13 and 1 John 2:1 remind us that God is faithful to provide a way out of temptation and an advocate in Jesus Christ to intercede on our behalf.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; do not be intimidated, for you will not be humiliated. For you will forget the shame of your youth and will remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide an escape, so that you can stand up under it.
He will again have compassion on us; He will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast out all our sins into the depths of the sea.
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate before the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps He will forgive you for the intent of your heart.
‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes,’ and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion. He will not always accuse us, nor harbor His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins or repaid us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His loving devotion for those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
O LORD, do not withhold Your mercy from me; Your loving devotion and faithfulness will always guard me. For evils without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, so that I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart has failed within me.
Because the Lord GOD helps Me, I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set My face like flint, and I know that I will not be put to shame.
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a man can commit is outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.
