In times of illness, believers can find comfort and guidance in Scripture. The Psalms remind us to bless the Lord for His benefits, including the forgiveness of sins and healing, as seen in Psalms 103:2-3. According to 1 Peter 5:7-10, we can cast our anxieties on God, trusting in His care and sovereignty. Additionally, Proverbs 3:5 and 17:22 encourage trust in the Lord's goodness and wisdom, even in the midst of suffering, while Isaiah 53:5 points to the ultimate healing found in Jesus Christ.

Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in your faith and in the knowledge that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering. And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore you, secure you, strengthen you, and establish you.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget all His kind deeds— He who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases,
But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
The spirit of a man can endure his sickness, but who can survive a broken spirit?
The LORD will sustain him on his bed of illness and restore him from his bed of sickness.
But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.
Here is a call for the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick. The Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail.
