I was talking to brother Blaine this morning and he used a phrase that he said sister Renee uses all the time " face to face with the cross." This inspired me to write this poem..........bro Frank

Face to face with the cross

When I have suffered great loss
I come face to face with the cross
Will I get down on my knees and pray
Or shall I turn and walk away?

Each day as I walk through this life
And face troubles and heartaches and strife
When the world has lost all its gloss
Then I come face to face with the cross

In the light of His glory and grace
As I behold His wonderful face
His fire burns up all of the dross
When I come face to face with the cross

So when you have fallen down
And it seems you've forsaken your crown
Come fall at His feet in remorse
Come face to face with the cross

His grace is sufficient for you
Honor Him in all that you do
And victory will come in due course
When you come face to face with the cross
