Shine forth

7 verses from the 80th Psalm

vs 1-7 from the King James Version

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,
thou that leadest Joseph
like a flock;
thou that dwellest
between the cherubims,
shine forth.

Before Ephraim and Benjamin
and Manasseh stir up thy strength,
and come and save us.

Turn us again, O God,
and cause thy face to shine;
and we shall be saved.

O Lord God of hosts,
how long wilt thou
be angry against
the prayer of thy people?

Thou feedest them
with the bread of tears;
and givest them tears to drink
in great measure.

Thou makest us a strife
unto our neighbours;
and our enemies laugh
among themselves.

Turn us again,
O God of hosts,
and cause thy face
to shine; and
we shall be saved.

 Re: Shine forth

"At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue,

Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks."
-Acts 26:13-14

"...our Lord Jesus Christ

Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of Lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen."

- 1Timothy 6:14-16

"Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God." -Ezekiel 1:1

 Re: Shine forth

"And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend..."

"And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory."

"And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord."

"And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him."

Exodus 33:11,18
Exodus 34:5, 29-30

"And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord, So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord." -1 Kings 8:10-11

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting." -Acts 2:1-2

….here is [the] an answer

“at midday, O king, along the road I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who journeyed with me. “And when we all had fallen to the ground, I heard a voice speaking to me and saying in the Hebrew
‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
Acts 26:14

“One day I was on such a mission to Damascus, armed with the authority and commission of the leading priest. About noon, Your Majesty, a light from heaven brighter than the sun shone down on me and my companions. We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,
*’Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to fight against my will.*’
Acts 26:14

 Re: Shine forth

In verse 4 of Psalm 80 it reads '...how long will
You be angry against the prayer of Your people?

Is God angry against our prayers?

When our enemies are laughing among themselves, presumably against the people of God, is it not time to seek God for Him to shine forth, for us to be restored, for God's glory and honour?

What I write next might seem like an aside to the original post and replies, but here goes.

Rev 1v9 tells us John was on the island of Patmos, exiled, for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Verse 10 tells us he was in the Spirit on the Lords day.

Verse 17 says when he saw Him (Jesus) he fell down as one dead.

First, John is on his own, but yet he was in the Spirit.

No music, no singers, no gimmicks, just him and the Holy Spirit.

Then, he saw Jesus, and fell down as one dead.

When has that ever happened to us, epecially when in church?

Which is why we need to seek God to restore us, that His face would shine on us.

God bless.
