 A little poem about Hell

Hell
Pain that is never releaved
Regret that is never appeased
Guilt that is never eased
Captive never to be released
Desires that will never be pleased
Boredom that will never cease
Swimming in a lake of fire that will never freeze

Re: A little poem about Hell

Not a very bright outlook for 98% of those created in God's own image.

Satan is snickering with glee.

Re: A little poem about Hell

I tremble whenever I think of where I would be headed had God not graciously called me from my sinful ways to His glorious salvation.

 Re:

Those who attack the biblical doctrine of eternal punishment assault the character of God, particularly His justice.

 Re:

I've found that some main reasons why many people blatantly deny the reality of an eternal hell is due to a lack of realizing the seriousness of sin, and a lack realizing the absolute holiness and majesty of the God of the Bible.

Oracio--

Simple question for you:

Did God know that humans would sin before He created them?

Of course He did or He wouldn't be omniscient.

 Re:

TMK,

Jesus Christ was not plan B. He was plan A--the lamb who was "slain from the foundation of the world" and who "indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you."

All of us deserve the wrath of God, TMK, apart from Christ.

 Re:

If you believe that God is omniscient and therefore agree that God knew that man would sin before He created him and you also believe that hell is a place of eternal torment created by God in which to consign such individuals then you must deal with the implications of this. That is all I am saying. It is not me who is besmirching the character of God. I am trying my best not to do so.

My initial question was rhetorical. I know Jesus was not plan B. And I also believe that He died to save sinners. And I also believe that there is no other name by which we must be saved.

What I struggle with is the implications of the traditional view, only one of which I have noted above. I don't think many Christians think about such things. Perhaps they should.

 Re:

Actually I should have taken my question one step further and asked whether God knew in advance that perhaps 99% of mankind would not accept Christ and whether He created an eternal hell of endless torment knowing this.

I have not heard a satisfactory resolution to this dilemma.
