Yep... I'm about 15 minutes from there. I'm in H'ville almost everyday.

 Re:

I heard a saying once that, "Ill gotten gain is foolishly spent." I have taught this to my sons. Anytime money is easily acquired there is a loss of the sense of its true value. Contrast that with how devastating the loss of that same money is to the loser in a gambling bet. :-(

It is obvious the effects of gambling on our community. There may have been a hand full of pawnshops before the gambling boats showed up. Now its pawnshops galore and a title loan company on almost every commercial corner. Gambling preys on the poor. Rich folk typically won't run that risk with their money.

I heard a horrifying story of a man that went down to the 'boats'; in our area. There was a woman there playing a slot machine. She looks over at him and says, "Just so long as there is a little bologna in the refrigerator!" Other stories of folk loosing their homes or their whole paychecks at the boats. But at a business convention in Atlantic City once I saw a huge tour bus loaded with the elderly turning down the street towards a casino. What a gut wrenching and sobering sight!
