Scriptural Inerrancy

1 sermons

Scriptural inerrancy is a foundational doctrine affirming that the Bible, in its original manuscripts, is without error and completely trustworthy in all matters it addresses. This belief is rooted in the understanding that all Scripture is inspired by God, as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16, which teaches that 'All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.' The Psalmist declares in Psalms 119:160, 'The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever,' emphasizing the enduring truthfulness of God's Word. Furthermore, Jesus Himself affirmed the authority and reliability of Scripture when He said in John 10:35, 'Scripture cannot be broken.' This conviction is vital for believers as it shapes our understanding of God's character and His revelation to humanity. In a world filled with conflicting ideologies, the call to discern truth is echoed in passages like Romans 12:2, urging us to 'not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.' Thus, embracing scriptural inerrancy not only strengthens our faith but also equips us to stand firm against false teachings, as cautioned in Matthew 7:15, where Jesus warns about false prophets who come in sheep's clothing.
