Fighting

For example, the Israelites were frequently engaged in battles, such as the conquest of Canaan (Joshua 1-12), where physical fighting was necessary for them to possess the land promised by God.Metaphorically, fighting also represents the spiritual battles believers face. The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians 6:12, notes that “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” This calls Christians to engage in spiritual warfare through prayer and reliance on God's armor (Ephesians 6:10-18). Thus, fighting in the Bible encapsulates both the physical conflicts of Israel and the ongoing spiritual struggles faced by believers, emphasizing the need for divine assistance and moral fortitude in the face of adversity.
