ἀποτρέπω. P Giss I. 205 (ii/a.D.) ἡ ἐπιστολή σου τὴν [μέριμναν ?... ] που ἀπέτρεψεν [. . . 11 15 unfortunate that this solitary citation for a verb common in literature should have no reliable context ; but it is something that the word itself seems clear, and occurs in a woman’s private letter, which proves it vernacular.
