Buttmann, 16 (14)), ὁ (Hebrew ωΘΡψεο for ιΐωΘΡψεο from ιΘωΗΡψ 'to be straight'; (in Hebrew always with the article δΗωΘΡψεο, 'the level')), Sharon (so R. V.; but A. V. Saron), a level region extending from Caesarea of Palestine (Strato's Tower) as far as Joppa (about 30 miles); it abounded in pasturage and was famous for its fertility (Isa_33:9; Isa_65:10; 1Ch_27:29): Act_9:35.
