ἀναίρεσις [page 33] Field ( Notes , p. 116) remarks that killing or slaying would be more adequate than death (AV, RV) as a rendering. Since even the AV of 2Ma_5:13 , which he notes, does not make unto the killing of him English, we must either keep death or substitute murder, which the tone of ἀναιρῶ would fairly justify : see sub voce.
