"a haven, retreat, refuge", Theogn. ; ἑταιρείας λ. "a haven of" friendship, Soph. ; λ. τῶν ἐμῶν βουλευμάτων Eur. ; c. gen. objecti, χείματος λ. "a harbour of refuge" from the storm, id=Eur.
