For this verb which is read in the TR of 1Th_2:8 (but see Milligan ad l. ) we may cite Bacchylides i. 62 ἶσον ὅ τ᾽ ἀφνεὸς ἱμείρει μεγάλων ὅ τε μείων παυροτέρων , the rich man yearns for great things, as the poorer for less (Jebb).
