εὐλαβέομαι, εὐλαβοῦμαι: 1 aorist participle εὐλαβηθείς; properly, "to show oneself εὐλαβής," i. e.:
1. to act cautiously, circumspectly (Tragg., Xenophon, Plato, and following).
2. to beware, fear: as in 1Ma_3:30 1Ma_12:40 (Alex. etc.) and often in secular authors, followed by μή lest (Buttmann, 241f (208)), Act_23:10 R G (Deu_2:4; 1Sa_18:29; Job_13:25; Jer_5:22; Dan_4:2; 2Ma_8:16; Sir_41:3).
3. to reverence, stand in awe of (τόν Θεόν, Plato, legg. 9, p. 879e.; the Sept. Pro_2:8; Pro_24:28 (); Nah_1:7): God's declaration, Heb_11:7.

P Par 45 .7 (B.C. 153) εὐλαβοῦμαι τὸν ἐνδίκτην τὰ πλῖστα , BGU IV. 1116 .42 (B.C. 13) κ̣α̣ι̣̣ μ̣η̣δ̣ε̣, ν̣ τὴν Ἀντωνίαν Φιλημάτιο (ν ) εὐλαβ (εῖσθαι ), and the Christian P Fay 136 .4 (iv/A.D.) ὅθεν μηδένα εὐλαβούμενοι μᾶλλον ἀπαντήσατε ἀπ᾽ ἑαυτῶν πρὸ τοῦ τις ὑμᾶς ἐνέγκῃ , therefore heed no one rather than me and return from where you are before some one fetches you (Edd.). See also the letter Preisigke 4050 .13 εὐλαβήθητι μήπως μὴ καταλάβουσίν σε ἐν [Ἀ ]λεξανδρείᾳ , where the construction may be compared with Act_23:10 HLP.
