See s.v . ἀστράπτω . The compound, which occurs in the NT only in Luk_9:29 (cf. LXX Eze_1:4 ; Eze_1:7 , Nah_3:3 ) may convey the idea of flashing forth as from an inward source (cf. Farrar CGT ad l. ), but is perhaps simply intensive, dazzling (RV).
