For the bad sense in which this forcible NT ἅπ . εἰρ . ( Mar_15:46 ) is generally used, see Abbott as cited s.v. ἐντυλίσσω : cf. P Tebt I. 24 .62 (B.C. 117) ἐνίων μὲν αὑτοὺς ἐνειληκότων οἰκονομ [ίαις κτλ ., some have wormed themselves into the positions of oeconomus, etc., and P Ryl II. 144 .18 (A.D. 38) ἐνειλούμενός̣ μοι , of a violent struggle. On the other hand, the verb is colourless in P Oxy VIII. 1153 .23 (i/A.D.) τῆς γινομέ (νης ) συνθέσεως τὸ πρόσχρωμον ἐνείλικται τῇδε τῇ ἐπιστολῇ , a pattern of the colour of the dress that is being made is enclosed in tliis letter (Ed.).
